I have been overweight my entire life. I almost did the gastric bypass in 2008, things didn't work out as my surgeon decided not to do that procedure anymore and let his insurance expire. I became very sicouraged after that set back and almost gave up on the weight loss. Late in 2010 I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis in my right hip and required a hip replcaement. My ortho surgeon told me that my new hip may only last 15-20 years due to my weight. I made the decision that something had to be done. I had been to one of Dr. Erbella seminars before so I set up an appointment with him. I still had my file of medical records from when I was going to have the bypass done. His office submitted the file to my health insurance character, and with in 2 weeks I recieved the approval letter. The best part, it would be $0 out of pocket for me, I reached my max out of pocket thanks to the first surgery. This is now my second day post surgery, prior to surgery, I have already lost 20 pounds on the liquid diet. First appt is on the 7th and I'll report back then.
