Just got done visiting the Dr for a little fill. Officially at 105lbs down with 50lb to goal. I still haven't found really any food I can't eat, which is odd from the feedback I had been given before surgery. The volume is defiantly restricted but I seem to really have no issue with the what part. Anyone else literally able to eat anything if they take it slow and chew?

I went in for my third fill on Monday. They only put in 1/4CC bringing me to 4.25CC since I had lost 17lbs in the last month Brings me to 82lbs total. I am sticking to around 1500 calories a day and getting on average 90-100 grams of Protein a day. I have found that going under 1500 calories a day actually slowed down my weight loss. I am a big guy at 6'4 so I think my body just needs more. Just trying to keep my momentum going and join the 200's by the end of the year.

I had my first fill on Monday. It was done under Fluoro Xray and he ended up putting in almost 4CC. Up until that point I was experiencing little or no restriction. I could basically eat anything, the only thing that was limited was the volume. Since the fill I definetly feel the difference and am no longer hungry all the time feeling like I am white knuckling it through the day to keep from eating more than I should. I have had some great success so far, I hit the 60lb mark on Tuesday and it felt great to be below 350lbs for the first time in 10 years..

4 Weeks out and NO restriction = worry!!
New Scott replied to NY Bandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry. I didnt have any restriction either up until my first fill. My surgeon had me phase in solid foods after two weeks due to my fast healing, and work up to eating steak before my first fill. I really didnt find much of anything that wouldn't go down no problem up until my first fill. My first fill changed everything, I definetly feel restriction, and I don't think I could eat a piece of steak right now no matter how much I chewed it. -
I also was prescribed liquid for my pain killer (loratab). My surgeon also prescribed the lovanox injections, one per day in my abdomen. I have a healthy collection of bruises, looking forward to the last one tomorrow. I should have never read what it was made from, I think it made it harder to do them. It helps prevent blood clots. Gas-x chewable tablets helped me out a ton with the stomach gas!

Hello everyone. My name is Scott, I am 37 years old, I had my lap band surgery on Aug 18th. The gas was no joke but I am getting around pretty good now, even mowed my front yard. I have 3 kids, my son is 3, and my two daughters are 4 and 6. I have been married for 11 years to a great wife, who had gastric bypass 18 months ago and has lost 170lbs (talk about setting the bar high!). My starting weight was 410, I currently am weighing in a 361lbs, so one shy of 50 I worked hard over the last 9 months while getting approved and look forward to having the band to help me get the next 100 off. Drinking 2 protein shakes, and 3 cans of soup blended up a day. Im on full liquid another 6 days and hopefully I can go to mushies ( I miss cottage cheese, I got to hate it on pre-op diet but now I miss it). Good lucky everyone!
