I've had a weight issue since 12 I would gain weight rapidly then lose it. I began starving myself when I was 15, then I became a vegetarian lost weight only to gain more after I couldn't take being a vegetarian any longer. At 18 I gained 50lbs. right after high school which I have struggled with for over 13 years. I have done everything to try to lose weight...diets, pills, shots, cleanses you name it I've done it. I got tired of hearing you're so pretty you just need to lose weight.

I began examining my life and really finding out what my issues were and at that point I found help for my issues with food. Issues that stem from my need for love and acceptance. It has certainly been a journey and I am surely glad at my progress but I know there is a long road ahead.

February 7, 2012 I had lap band surgery. Today is December 5, 2012 and I am glad to say I have lost 49lbs. For people who are like me, there is hope and its a good thing you took the first step to get help. Many people will tell you not to do it but it is your choice and if this will make you happy then do it! Having the Lap band will certainly change your life for the better but it does require work. I wish everyone on their journey much success in facing their demons and issues that come with obesity.
