Yes, I have been banded over a year and am considering having it removed. I get sick on an average of twice a week. This makes me restort to soft, mayo covered foods, shakes, etc. just to get something down and staff of huger pains. THis is no way to life. I would rather go on a salad, fish and fruit diet than this. Any other people tired of living like this? I have had almost all the fill removed. It is embarrassing.

:phanvanI lost 20 lbs and then gained back 10. I could not keep food down so went to high caloric beverages, cheese, etc. THe vomiting was terrible. This week, due to this site, I tried pineapple juice, then went out and bought chewable papya enzymes tablets...............unbelievable!!! When I felt that stuck sensation, I chewed one and it worked. Anyone else identify with this terrible, embarrassing situation?

Thank you so much for your kind, informative response. I thought I was the only one having continuous problems. This is not as easy as I thought.

I should have added, I have had Fluid removed about a month ago. I feel much better. I still have to eat slowly and carefully, of course. However, there are times when I have had discomfort and the enzyme is remarkable. Going to high caloric liquids or soft food, was more for hunger satisfaction, ease of digestion and avoidance of PB. (I don't know exactly what that stands for.) I read about the papaya enzyme in this forum. All I am saying is that it works and I can eat very sensibly.:clap2:

I had a fill on the 2oth of Feb - one month after surgery. Called, as recommended, because after a week, I could eat every and drink while eating. My weight loss has been slow. At the seminar, 217+, at surgery 208, after surgery 207, fill 202.5, now 197-198. Fill was on Feb 20 and I couldn't get into see the doctor for an adjustment until March 15....I have been trying to be food. I am almost 5'9". He wants me to be 170 - but I know 160 is perfect. I am tall, but not big boned. I guess I'll be loosing slower than some....that's ok as long as it is steady. -
newlew07 yes, it will be my first fill. I found that I was eating ice cream and creamier Soups because I was hungery. I have sort of stayed put on the scales. Today I ate the first piece of chicken!!! I tried fish on Sunday evening and it was impossible to digest and get through. I think that eating more of the solids at lunch is the answer for me. Having only had a Slim Fast, there is more room! OOOOOH, it tased so good. Also I have been having a hard boiled egg (deviled or salad) and that is an easy way to get in the Protein. I am full and satisfied, finally. I was also told that until I had my fill there was very little constriction to my stomach. I do feel stuffed when eating small amounts. I guess the swelling and gases have passed, though. Wonder what I will eat when I get the fill? Take it easy....and keep in touch! btk

I can see how age factors into weight loss. I lost before and for the next two weeks. I seem to be stuck.....probably ready for a fill. I was banded on Jan 19.

I was banded on Jan 19 and stayed out of work for a week. No one told me of the pain I would have, so I felt very uncomfortable. Chewed the Gas-x and would stretch my arms over my head to assist digestion and burps. The pain was in my back and shoulder, also. Post-Op pain, which they never explained to me with any laprosopic surgery I have ever had (1 other on knee). Don't worry, it does go away after about 7-10 days. I feel fine and am suposed to still be on liquid (thicker this week). Slim Fast in am. I hope to start on some protein this Friday and expect to feel more satisfied. I am starting to feel more hunger these last two days. I know I will be ready for a fill by the 16th of Feb. Just feel tire going back to work. I am positive this will pass. Hope this helps.
