First of all, I would like to thank all of those who post regularly. I have been lurking and reading for support and encouragement. I started this journey seven years ago when my doctor suggested I sit in a seminar for weight loss surgery. My Insurance at that time would not cover weight loss surgery. I started to write letters trying to change their mind. I then changed jobs and shortly after I started the new insurance company chose to cover the procedure if you have been employed for two years or more. March this year was the mark that I started my six month diet. I was approved for surgery late July and my date is 8/16/2012 10:50 AM, Dr. Korn and his staff have been wonderful. I am now sitting here with all of the emotions that a person can generate, excited, worried, nervous, apprehensive, and wanting to just get the surgery over and start the new journey of my new life!

Yesterday was my day! I'm in Mexico and was sleeved by Dr. Rodriguez at the Star Medica facility. I booked through belightweight, Ishi and Joanne were my coordinators.
The entire experience and staff has been exceptional, better than I could have ever imagined. Think, southwest airlines vs delta in terms of service. all smiles, always have English speakers on staff and my Spanish is even getting better.
Almost no gas pain, or any pain for that matter. From what they told me, there Wes no complications and all went as expected.
Met with Dr. Rod yesterday, and the other two doctors assisting a few hours before. Perfect English so there was no concern of miscommunications. I have felt extremely comfortable.
Leak test is later today. Fingers crossed.
Internet access has been spotty, up and down but surprisingly, my At&t service works most of the time so phone calls and email are working without an international plan.
I'm soooooo pumped up for this opportunity.

Hi Rootman, I am jealous, I want a new bike! Congrats to you! I agree 100%, this surgery was soooo worth it, I feel like a new person....I AM a new person!

I am a Pisces:
I am 10 on all, no issues whatsoever ( well other than some hair loss) I am 6 months out, 27 lbs from goal so I say I am doing pretty well!

I love spicy foods too and I havent had any issues since surgery....Good old trial and error is all you can do, crossing my fingers for you, I cant imagine no more spicy foods either!

I am nervous for some reason...how funny is that? I was thinking maybe I havent lost enough yet but I am down 62 since surgery, 77 total so I guess I shouldnt worry huh? Congrats to all my fellow Feb sleevers, keep up the good work!

First of all...congrats on your weight loss, you are doing amazing! I am 6 months out and have the same issues, Hair loss, sagging skin ( that is only on my arms and a little on the butt...lol) You are just where your body needs to be, everyone is different. Keep up the fantastic work!

Today:
Breakfast: Muscle Mik rtd..
snack: banana
Lunch: 1 c lettuce, 5 oz fake crab, 1/2 c cherry tomatoes, 2 tbsp dressing
snack: string cheese
Dinner: 4 oz hamburger patty, 1 c lettuce, 1/2 c cherry tomaotes, 2 tbsp dressing
snack: 1 pudding cup ( maybe) or an apple

Hang in there, it does get better. The first week can be quite tough on some. Every day you will be a bit better. Make sure to walk as much as you can, it helps with the gas. Best of luck to you!
