Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. You will find a plethra of information here to answer pretty much all your questions and concerns, I did! It is normal to be nervous/excited etc, I know I was. I had my surgery Feb 9th , went home the next day at noon and have never looked back! I had no issues at all other than the soreness from surgery the first week. No issues with any drinks/food at all. I started at 255 middle of January, was down to 240 at surgery and am at 176 now, six months out and 26 lbs from goal!!! You can do this! Best of luck to you, keep us posted!

kimmy*custis replied to lil4heartz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband is diabetic and I find their recipes are fantastic, low carb, low fat/sodium too. I have the Diabetic Gourmet cookbook, so many great recipes. Just do a search online for diabetic recipes and give some a try. -

What Kind Of Broth Do You Recommend..?
kimmy*custis replied to thetruedream's topic in Food and Nutrition
I like the chicken stocks instead of broth, they seem to have a bit more flavor. I get mine at Costco but they have it at regular grocery stores, in the cardboard cartons. They are nice cause you can reseal them and put in the fridge. I got the Rachel Ray one once and it was tasty! -

Give Me An Idea What Life Is Like At 1 Month Post Op --
kimmy*custis replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was feeling great 1 month out but everyone is different. I was at the gym just walking the treadmill 3 1/2 weeks out. I had no problem with the food restrictions wherever I went, it isnt hard to do, just some planning involved. I went to a funeral 2 weeks out and have some very runny refried beans ( I mixed some salsa in them) and had no problems. It was only a couple of spoons full but did ok. I dont think you will feel like crap but...Best of luck, you can do this! -
Wow, that seems like a lot. I had to do a overnight sleep study and I didnt have to pay a dime but I have amazing insurance. I would call them again and make sure, that seems like a lot to me. Best of luck to you!

My First Before And Now Pics!
kimmy*custis replied to kimmy*custis's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
cervantes, you are doing great, I lost 15 of that 78 before the surgery ( I have that in my ticker) so you are doing fantastic! I followed what the doc said somewhat, I did what I felt my body needed and when it needed it. I was eating sooner that most, trying new things all the time, mixing it up constantly, food/and exercise to get the perfect balance. Everyone is different, I have fell off the wagon , not food wise but I have had several weekend with some alcohol involved and did just fine. I am sure I could have lost more but I am ok with were I am. Best of luck to you all and thanks again! -

What Do I Need For The Hospital And For The First Week At Home?
kimmy*custis replied to Avillias's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I needed was a change of clothes to wear home, my chapstick, phone and charger and a brush/headband for my hair. I brought so much more and didnt use hardly anything. Go easy on stuff for home, your tastes will change and you might not like something the 2nd week you liked the 1st week. I had 2 types of protein drinks, 3 kinds of broths/soups, 3 kinds of crystal light and some popsicles. Best of luck to you! -

kimmy*custis replied to melbelinc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am six months out and can eat 6 oz dense protein and a small ( 1/4- 1/2 c) of vegies at a meal. I had 2 oz chicken lunchmeat, 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 4 cherry tomatoes for lunch yesterday. Everyone is different but I think you are just fine! I just upped my water/food/exercise when I had a stall and it worked for me! -
