Surgery In Three Days... Anyone Else Get Cold Feet ?
kimmy*custis replied to Jadesatin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will be just fine. I too was super nervous the day before but I was very calm the day of surgery so I knew I was doing the right thing and was going to be ok. I believe that the mind is a wonderful tool you can use to calm yourself, just dig deep, it is there to help you thru this! Best of luck for a speedy recovery! -
Yaaay, you are on your way to the new you! Sorry you had a few issues but considering you just had major surgery, I think you are doing great! I was super tired the first week but I felt like a million bucks the second week so hang in there! Kee us posted......

I Got Approved! Now What?! When?
kimmy*custis replied to AbbieRoad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was ok after one week but everyone is different. I went to a crab feed two weeks out, even had a few bites of crab and two cocktails, vodka cranberry with just a splash of vodka and I did just fine. You can do that as far as the reunion, they will never know you arent really drinking! I say go for it, the sooner you do this, the sooner you will be on the losers bench!! Best of luck.....you CAN do this! -
I dont worry about fats either, I eat what I want, of course I make better choices now so the fat really isnt an issue. I too eat regular cheese, 2% cottage cheese and lowfat yogurts. I think it the the processed foods with all the fat that would be an issue and I limit those tremendously.

Yes, I believe they do incinerate body parts. I was wondering the same thing! I signed a consent form for all my surgery info to be used in studies to better bariatric surgeries, I had my surgery done at U.C Davis in Sacramento which is a teaching hospital.

I have been doing Zumba 2 nights a week since June and 2 nights of weight training/cardio. I went to my Zumba class last night and after class my instructor Robyn said to me...in front of the whole class how good I looked. She touched my waist and hips and said how much of a difference she sees. I felt soooo good for the rest of the night...a natural high for sure! Yaaaaay me!!!

What Amount Of Ebw Lost Were You At 6 Months Out?
kimmy*custis posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went for my 6 month post op appt today and was told I was at 70% of my EBW lost. She says that is great since normal is 60-65% at 1 year out, does that sound correct? I read a few articles that kind of confirm this but is seems we ( in this forum) are losing quicker than that...guess that is good!!! -
Tom Question For The Ladies
kimmy*custis replied to beachlover1129's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It happens to me all the time, completely normal. I stall for 1-2 weeks, lose a few, lose a few more and stall again. I try to mix it up when that happens, up my food intake a bit, change my workout routine and drink a couple more glasses of water, normally breaks the stall in a couple days for me. I feel your pain....it sucks! Give it a try and see of it helps. The TOM doesnt help either, I normally retain a few lbs of water weight then too! Best of luck and hugs to you! -
Yes GNC has them. I tried several kinds, couldnt stand any!!!

kimmy*custis replied to Darla5060's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the best luck with a large red plasic cups I got at Walmart, the ones in the summer area with the beach towels and such. I seem to drink more when I use those! -
Oh yes, makes perfect sense! Welcome and best of luck for a speedy approval and a new life for you!

Yes, completely normal. I still burp sometimes but most of the time it is a gurgle, whether I am drinking or eating.

I am 6 months out and still cannot do really carbonated drinks...I keep trying but they dont agree with me either. I can do the lightly carbomated like the Hard lemonades etc. I wasnt in pain like you but it was uncomfortable. Not sure but maybe we cant do beer right now. Sucks cause I like my beer too!
