kimmy*custis replied to gettinMeBack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Trust me, it will happen soon enough. I thought the same thing but I progressed slowly. I am 7 months out and can do about a cup of food at a meal, sometimes less, just depends on what it is. -
Thanks for sharing, I have to check it out!

Congrats to you both...keep up the good work!

Question About Hunger
kimmy*custis replied to Bronxbubbles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a pretty good appetite before as well. I felt full and satisfied post op, no hunger issues at all. I believe it is just a mental thing everyone needs to work on. Sure, I looked at what I ate and said..."how can I be full already?" but I didnt dwell on it and I was good. Trust me, you dont want too overeat...it is freakin miserable. If you take one extra bite it feels like it is stuck in your throat! I am 7 months out and eat anything I want only very small amounts, of course I make better choices now but I sure am not depriving myself. Best of luck....you can do this! -
Emotional Vampires & Toxic People
kimmy*custis replied to @DomLorenVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I cleaned house of all that years ago....I only have a few, really close friends and those are the ones who would do anything for you, drop what they are doing to help at a moments notice. Life is too short for toxic people! -
I know, I can eat anything I used to, just a small amount! I absolutely love my sleevie, I too, order a taco and eat the filling, sometimes a bite or two of the tortilla but I would rather have the meat for sure! I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how many food options I still have...woo hoo! Good luck to you all!

How Much Did Your Taste Buds Change After Vsg?
kimmy*custis replied to sleevemeup's topic in Food and Nutrition
Congrats on you upcoming surgery! I didnt change at all, my taste is exactly the same as it was pre surgery. The only thing I have is acid reflux but I take my Prilosec every day...problem solved! I love very spicy, even downright hot foods and I still can have them. -
At least you picked a good slider food! I love my grapes too, I have a grape arbor with 60 year old vines and I get TONS of grapes every year, I have to give them away there are sooo many!

Anyone Else Freaking About Hair Loss?!
kimmy*custis replied to GeauxForIt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it freaked me out too but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. I started at 4 months and it pretty much slowed to normal hair loss at 6 1/2 months. Hopefully your hair loss will be minimal. The way I look at it , small price to pay to have my life back. I feel freaking fantastic, my relationship with my husband is back, I can do stuff with my kids now, shop anywhere I want...woo hoo! Best of luck to you! -
Did Anyone By A New Article Of Clothing Pre-Surgery?
kimmy*custis replied to SleeveandRNYchica's topic in The Gals' Room
No, but I had a few pieces I had saved....forever it seemed. I dropped sizes so quickly I am glad I didnt buy anything. I am already hating having to get rid of clothes I have had for 2 months. I went from a size 20 pant 2-3x shirts to 10, sometimes 8 pants and L, sometimes M shirts. I have been shopping at thrift stores, much cheaper and I dont feel so bad when it doesnt fit anymore! I can tell you it is fantastic to be able to shop anywhere now, not the plus size stores. -

Salsa Scrambled Eggs With Peppers And Onions
kimmy*custis replied to JerzyGirl's topic in Soft (stage 3)
I do the same type of recipe but use one, maybe two eggs, fat free milk and use Pam instead of the oil, way less calories and still tastes fabulous! I sometimes throw a couple tbsp's of grated cheese too, even a dollup of fat free sour cream.....yummy! It doesnt have as much protein but way less fat. -
Wow, that is a fantstic weight loss so far! I am 7 months out, down 83 lbs, 68 since surgery, 22lbs from goal. I feel fantastic too, have since a week out from surgery , I had no issues at all. I eat pretty much whatever I want but I make better choices that I used to. I have been doing 2 zumba classes, 2 weight training sessions and one yoga class a week. Last week I was soooo busy...not one class but I got plenty of exercise around the house doing summer cleanup! Keep up the fantastic work!
