    Salad/raw Veggies - When Can I Have?

I started on raw veggies a week ago...cant get enough of them. I am having a hard time keeping up with my protein cause all I want is veggies lately. I have eaten a bag of brussel sprouts, cooked tho, in the last four days. My body must be needing them since I have had mostly all protein the last 7 weeks huh?

    Follow Up Appointments

You have a two week post op visit then a two month then it is out to six months. I would think you could go to your regular Doc after the first appt, I had staples removed then and talked to the nutritionist, she is checking to make sure you are getting the right amounts of fluids/protein, after that, I would think any Doc could handle it.

    The First Week Post Op

Do you have a Trader Joes near? They have a latin style black bean soup that is in the cartons like the broth ( same area in the store too) that is to die for...soooo good! I started drinking that 1 week out. I still like it but add beans and vegies now.

    Protein Bars?

Pure Protein ones are the best, they even have them at Costco where I live. 20g of protein per bar and my fav is chocolate peanut butter...yum!

    Weird Cravings

I have been on a brussel sprouts kick...I cant get enough of them...weird huh? I made meatloaf and mashed potatoes with brussels last night for the family. I ate two bites of meat, no potatoes and over the course of 5 hours probably ate 2 cups of them! Just some pepper and I am good to go! Another thing is ceviche of any kind, I can eat it for all of my meals!

    What Does This Mean?

Basically the Doc needs to list all your weight loss efforts, Weight Watchers, diet pills etc. I had to write down every weight loss plan/pill I have ever tried, wasnt too hard to get a good list quickly. Just make a list and take in to your next visit. Good luck!
  17. I am 10 lbs away...I have been at 210 for a week! I have been exercising 3-4 days a week, treadmill and weight training, sometimes walking at lunch, weather permitting. I am eating my 600-800 cals a day, sometimes a bit more but not much. Guess I need to step up the workouts! TOM, is coming this week so that may be why I havent lost any lately...hopefully. Or maybe the exercising is building muscle...hopefully that is the case! WE CAN DO IT!!!!!! Best of luck to us all!

    Weight Loss Slow

You are doing great...dont worry! We cannot compare ourselves to anyone else, we are all sooo different. The slower you lose, they less hangy skin, that is the way I look at it! I have been at 210 for the last week almost and yes, I do wonder why I havent lost some more but I am not stressing about it. I have been doing some weight training at the gym so that is probably muscle weight. I think stress can sabotage weight loss too. I figure any weight loss is the step in the right direction. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

    Post Op Day 2

It will be challenging to get your fluids in, I wont lie to you but just keep it up, very important. I didnt feel hungry for a week or so. I was told I could drink protein drinks as soon as I got home ( next day after surgery) Call your Doc and make sure. Make sure to get your rest and walk as much as you can. Good luck to you!

    Cold / Hot Post Operative

I would be calling the doc. I was cold the first few weeks, not extremely but somewhat. The blue nails, bad memory...not sure that is ok. Better to se safe than sorry right? Best of luck to you.

    I Had My Surgery But

I have to admit, I do it daily. I need to change that, weekly would be so much beter so I dont obsess about it. If you can do monthly...go for it! I dont have the willpower for that!

    Alcohol After Being Sleeved

Everyone is different, I had a couple drinks 2 weeks out...cranberry with a touch of vodka and had no issues. I have had drinks since then occasionally but way less that I used to. A glass of wine here and there is about it.

    Hey Guess What!?

    Woo hoo! Congrats to you!
  25. I would have absolutely done it sooner! I wasnt heavy till mid to late 20's but if it were available then I would have done it. Like you said, everyone is different as far as "handling" the surgery but I would assume that the younger you are the easier the recovery should be. Why not take care of your health when you are younger, less problems when you get older! Good luck with your decision.
