7 Days Out And I Finally Felt Hunger
kimmy*custis replied to FluffyBleu76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yes, I cook all the time. I make dinner for my husband and kids all the time.Sometimes I eat what I cook for them , sometimes I dont, depends on what they ask for! I even make desserts, cookies etc. I try to go sugar free or at least low fat on the desserts tho! -

kimmy*custis replied to tmlockez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yaaay! I am sooo happy for you! You are progressing wonderfully! Give it two weeks an you will feel like a million bucks, best of luck on your new journey. -
I am sorry you are in so much pain and yes, it does pass. I didnt get the gas ( thank goodness) but just get up and walk as much as you can, they say that helps with the gas. As far as pain, what did they give you for that? Take it if you need it, dont feel you shouldnt, that is what it is for. As far as the protein, I wouldnt worry about it yet, just get your water in. Keep trying every day to get the protein in, it is hard but it does get easier, I promise. Keep us posted. Hugs to you!

7 Days Out And I Finally Felt Hunger
kimmy*custis replied to FluffyBleu76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does get better and yes, you do get hungry...eventually but you just cant eat very much at one time. I have been out to dinner with friends/family several times since surgery and I do eat...just not as much as everyone else. I make smarter choices that I used to and I get a to-go box right away and put most of it in the box to take home. I havent felt like I am going without at all, it has been kinda nice. You will do just fine, just think positive! -
You can do both...I am! I eat whatever I want, just very small portions. I have been to dozens of restaurants since my surgery and have never went without...and still lose weight. I have even had alcohol, not much but I have. I fortunately am not much of a carb/sweets person so I may have a bit of an advantage but it can be done! Never say never, shouldnt even been in the vocabulary. Best of luck to you, it does work and you will do great!

Welcome! This form has been a great help to me too. I read this forum every day for a month before my surgery and I tell you, it really helped me calm my nerves. Sure, there are people who have had problems or regrets but most of us have had a pretty easy time and would do it all over again. Best of luck to you in your journey. ( You too DogMom, you are doing great so far!)

Insurance Denial For Gaining Weight?
kimmy*custis replied to NisaletOAM's topic in Insurance & Financing
You can do it, I lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks before my surgery, it wasnt easy but I REALLY wanted my surgery. I found out after that my insurance didnt require weight loss before but it helped me feel better about myself and gave me the kick start I needed on this journey! Best of luck to you! -

That is great to hear, pat yourself on the back! It does feel soooo good to get the compliments, I love it too! Keep up the good work! -
Dont apologize for for bragging...you deserve to do so, you are doing great! Keep up the good work!

I agree with the doc, we need to get 1000-1200 calories, we are working out etc and need those calories to keep our bodies losing. If we eat too little , we go into starvation mode somewhat and have our dreaded stalls. Give it a try and see what happens, you can always mix it up again if needed. Good luck
