What To Do While Waiting On Approval?
kimmy*custis replied to JenniJune's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with Gene on this one, start weaning yourself off your bad habits, soda , candy etc. I also started walking every night so I would be in a little better shape before surgery. I also read up on everything I could find about the surgery, read forums like this which were a godsend for me. Good luck! -

I Need Some Help, Please And Thank You :)
kimmy*custis replied to AdeptDreamer's topic in Insurance & Financing
I hope so! It is amazing to me how different some of them are. Some have the 6 month supervised diet, 2 week pre-op diet etc. I had no supervised diet ( I did give them all the info of the diets I have tried over the years, I am much older than you) and only had a 2 day clear liquid diet before surgery. I would call the weight loss surgeon office and they can tell you about all the requirements you need before surgery. -

I Need Some Help, Please And Thank You :)
kimmy*custis replied to AdeptDreamer's topic in Insurance & Financing
I had my first weight loss consult the end of October 2011, and they wanted to do surgery in Dec! I waited till Feb when I could get the time off. The nutrition part was only 2 visits for me so I am not sure how your insurance works. Good luck to you. -
Need A Pick Me Up, Give Me Feedback
kimmy*custis replied to sillygirlmi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hard to say but 35-45 is reasonable. I am 15 weeks out, down 64, 15 pre-op. I also have been at a stall for the last two weeks, so...hard to say for you but it all depends on how well you follow the protocal, walking, getting enough water, protein etc. Best of luck! -
Welcome Veronica! No need to apologize, you were just being truthfull. You will do great, this forum has been a godsend for me, I have gotten so much help and support, it is amazing. Best of luck to you, keep us posted

Non Supportive Primary Care Doctor
kimmy*custis replied to carlab51's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you need to change your primary Doctor! I would suggest writing a letter to the hopsital board about her, she does need to be more informed about these procedures, they are saving peoples lives! My Doc was super supportive, I had my first appt one week after I asked her about it. Good luck to you! -
You will love it, it is so easy to use and you can personalize it just for you. It also can track your exercise and water intake, I love using it.

I Hate Water!
kimmy*custis replied to beautifuldiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also only use 1/2 of a packet, it seems too sweet if I use the whole packet. I also have tried the Wal-Mart brand of the packets...they are good too, and cheaper! -
You stalled for a whole six weeks? I am freaking out over my week and a half stall! Thanks for the encouraging words everyone, I feel better!
