    Tomorrow is the big day

Hello everyone!! So..... last Thursday, 8/25, I was sleeved. At home the next day, I had some low grade fever issues, and took the proscribed liquid pain meds for that. My post op recovery has not been that bad, except I had been having very real, and upsetting dreams. I thought it was from the general that I was given for surgery, but once I called my doctor to talk about it, he said to get off the pain medicine that was proscribed for my pain at home. The bad dreams stopped. Wow, I can't really overstate how upsetting the dreams were. So, i hope the dreams are truly gone. So today, i had no fever, no real pain except if coughing hard, or moving the wrong way. Of course my stomach must still be swollen. Today, I worked at home all day, many things not very physical, but some requiring a moderate level of physical exertion. In other words, at day 6 or 7, I feel like i could return to work if i needed to, but i still have 5 more days off. I took vacation time for this, i feel very strongly that my surgery is none of my employer's business. I'm working on things that i have trouble getting done while working 5 days a week. Like taking my boat in to Bass Pro for servicing, getting the cable guy out to boost my cable signal, get a new garage door opener for my Daughter. Things that are impossible to do when you work during the day. So, I feel normal again, or at least a new normal. 6 or 7 days after the surgery. I'm very happy i did this.

    Tomorrow is the big day

So now it's Saturday evening, my operation was Thursday morning. Today I perked up a little bit, moving around some, even going for a walk. I am still on my pain meds, and seem to start running fever if I don't take them Anyway, today I've had more clear liquids, and am sipping on some crystal light right now. The sugar free popsicles have been a big hit with me. Anyhow, feel better today than yesterday, I hope I continue to feel better each day.

Wow, lots of typos in the above post. Sorry about that. Brought my Halls cough drops (SF) and got the idea from this forum, so thank you. Convinced the wife to go home to be with our adult chid. My dear wife would dotte on me, of course she means well, but I will do better like this

The nurse havens a Valium to calm me a little. Then the pre op drug, and than I was waking up. It was done. So as I post thisit 11:15pm, in just wide awake but in almost no pain. I am still raking my pain mess, but feel really good. Met a lady here that said she had wls 20 years ago, and she was talking very positive about it.

    Tomorrow is the big day

I'm glad to have company lol. I'm scheduled for 8:30 this morning. I'm just ready to get it going. It's kinda girlie of me to be so nervous, but I am. I'm 294 lbs on my home scale this morning, so that is my starting point. I have sleep apnea bad, and my primary goal is to resolve that. Okay, got to get moving, I will post again when I'm on the other side.

Well, we have the same day then. I'm a little nervous and hope I'm doing the right thing. I know I am but still nervous. Yea, a roller coaster of emotions, but in my situation I'm doing the right thing, and my decision to have this took me years. Good luck to you tomorrow, you know you will be just fine.
