Congrats on hitting that big milestone!
-
Definitely check out your local Goodwill or consignment type stores - I was amazed at the quality of stuff I've found there for super cheap! And once those clothes get too big you can just re-donate them again!

Good for you! Enjoy it!

December 2011 Sleevers How Are You Doing So Far?
keybold64 replied to Lucky Lady 702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ditto for me - sleeved 12/27, down 68.6 lbs. So far there's really nothing I've found that I can't eat; i'll even have rice and pasta once in a while. Haven't really tried bread much, but I did have 1/2 breadstick at Olive Garden without any problems. All in all, I'd say I'm very happy -
Whoo hoo! That was fast

Loving my sleeve today - I am officially halfway to my goal weight, AND 4.1 lbs away from Onederland!! Just had to toot my own horn!

That is so awesome - it sounds like you are on your way!

7 Months Post-Op With Pics! :
keybold64 replied to Lissa's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow! You're doing/looking great, Lissa! -
You crack me up!! It is kind of hard to fathom living on the ocean and not taking advantage of walking on that sandy beach, but that's probably because I live in Minnesota and I would give my right arm to live somewhere tropical like that! LOL! If your husband won't walk with you, do you have any friends who could go with you? Or better yet, get a dog!! They make great walking companions

I can kind of relate to what you are saying - I had previously lost 140 lbs on Weight Watchers without doing ANY exercise. Granted, it took me like 3 years to lose it and I probably would have lost it quicker if I had exercised, but it still proves the point that it is possible to lose weight without exercising. This time around, however, I am making more of an effort to exercise, but it's certainly nothing drastic by any means! I've been doing 20-30 mins on the treadmill about 4-5 times a week, or if it's really nice out we take the dogs for a 45 min walk. I highly doubt that I'll ever be running any marathons or anything like that, and that's fine with me. A little exercise is better than nothing! Do you have a treadmill? That would probably be the easiest way to start getting some exercise in, or just good old walking! For me, I notice now that I've been doing it for awhile, I actually kind of like it! Go figure! LOL

Bananas? Good Or Bad?
keybold64 replied to gettinthinner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good timing on this topic - I have my 3 mo post op appt today so I'm going to ask about this. I also put a 1/2 banana in my protein shake every day because it just makes it taste that much better and it's pretty much the only fruit I eat. I do use myfitnesspal everyday to track calories, protein and carbs and I was a bit surprised to learn that 1/2 banana has 16 carbs. That seems kind of high but I don't worry too much about it since I'm usually under 70 carbs/day and I'm still losing at a good rate. Maybe when my weight loss starts to slow down or stall I'll think about not using them in my shakes to see if it makes a difference or not. -
Good for you! Keep rockin' that sleeve

I Had My Sleeve Done December 15Th 2011 Im 3 Months Post-Op Is Anyone Else 3 Mo Post-Op If So How Are You Doing?
keybold64 replied to Lucky Lady 702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date was 12/27 so I was 3 mos post-op yesterday, as of today I'm down 55 lbs (that includes my pre-op weight loss). Haven't had any problems, and I feel like I'm really getting the hang of this sleeve thing I don't really worry at all about stretching my sleeve, but I am concerned about the hair loss - so far I haven't had any. *fingers crossed* -
I'm also registered on gastricsleeve.com but I never go on there! I figured it's enough keeping up with one forum

I'm impressed that you're 6.5 weeks out and that 's the first time you've overdone it! I think I learned that lesson at about week 3! LOL!
