I went in to get a fill on my 6 week checkup but it didn't happen. My doctor stuck me at least 5 times but could not get the right spot of my port. It was very painful and I was almost in tears. He did warn me that the first fill is always the hardest and he may have to stick me multiple times so I tried to prepare myself for the worst. I have read so many post about other people who had no problems with their first fill. I'm starting to question my dr even tho I was very pleased with him up until this point. I now have to get a floroscapy done in order to get my fill. This is when they use an x-ray machine. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this experience and if this is normal?

I am 4 weeks post op today and I am down 25 lbs!! I am so excited because it has been a tough and emotional road but at this moment it all seems worth it. I lost 13 lbs on my pre op diet and 12 lbs post op. I would like to encourage anyone that's feeling discouraged about this process and tell u that it really does work if u follow the program and listen to your dr's orders. I have a long ways to go but I'm at a good start! Thanks everyone for sharing your stories and advice on this forum. It has been so helpful in my journey!!

I was banded on 06/11 and I took 2 weeks off from work. I have a desk job but I was still in too much pain to return to work after one week. It wasn't until about Day 10 when I started feeling like myself again. I went back to work yesterday and feel good now, besides a lil soreness around my port. But I definitely think your body needs that extra time to heal. Yes, everyone heals differently but it would be nice for you to have the option to take the time off u need especially with such a demanding job. Good Luck!!

Can anyone tell me how to purée fruits? I'm 6 days post op and I can now have purée fruits with my diet. Please tell me how to prepare this and any suggestions on recipes I can use with the fruit. I thought about mixing it with my protein powder. Has anyone tried this?

I am 6 days post op and still in a lot of pain around my port. It hurts for me to stand or sit down. I've read so many post where people were feeling much better by now and heading back to work. I can't imagine going to work tomorrow. Why is it taking me so long to heal? Is there any secret remedy to get better quicker? I'm ready to get out the house and back to my normal life!!

It's so nice to know I'm not alone in my journey. I will take off another week from work and focus on getting better. Thanks everyone for your much needed advice. :-) -
You should call your dietician to find out how much u should be eating. I was told to measure my food after my liquid diet phase.
