Yes, everyone is different with what they can and cannot eat and tolerate. I also eat peppers and love my salsa. Good luck.

Carbonated Drinks
bromo replied to FinallyFree0812's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink the crystal light and hawaiian punch go pack things but it is sad that they can't develop a flavor that isn't fruity. I get really tired of the fruity tastes and would love a cola or root beer flavor one! -
Does your doctor not do the band and plication together? Like Corrigan, I have both and am quite happy with it. No real hunger and fairly steady weight loss. I have no fill in my band and at this point in my journey do not need one but am glad it is there for down the road aways. Like Corrigan said, do your research and decide what is best for you. No one else can make that decision for you.

You found the right place to research. This site is filled with tons of valuable information about banding from good to bad. Good luck on your journey and welcome to the board.

I started at 127 pounds to lose, so no, you are not alone. Slowly but surely it is going to happen. -
Banded 8/2010 and now having trouble
bromo replied to making.a.change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have them check your pancreas. Pancreatic pain can often present itself this way. -
I use foil sheets for all my baking to help with clean up. After a lifetime of dishwashing for a family, now that it is just me, I really don't want to spend any time cleaning up after cooking. Try it.

Talk to your doctor. I developed lactose intolerance late in my 30s and had been a huge milk drinker before that. I use lactaid milk and the chewables for products that contain lactose now. High blood pressure is not always weight related. I have a very thin friend who has had HBP for years, as does all of her skinny family. I think theirs is just something genetic.

Lunch Ideas Needed After Lap Band Surgery ?
bromo replied to JinTx's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jin, of late I have been eating a wrap. I make it with half a Flatout Light Flatbread, light Miracle whip, brown mustard, 2 oz of deli sliced turkey or chicken, shredded lettuce and mild banana peppers. It makes a pretty large wrap and fills me up for sure. Sometimes I add some laughing cow cheese or a couple of tomato slices, just whatever I happen to have on hand. I am staying under 50 carbs a day, and this has fit right in with that. Good luck. -
Do you use a digital scale or a balance beam scale?
bromo replied to Amanda1982's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am way too OCD to weigh once a month. But yes, your weight flucuates during the day. I weigh first thing every morning. It works for me. -
Surgery went well, gas pain is killing me!!!!!
bromo replied to sheriah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GasX, heating pad and walking around my apt were what got me through it. Well, the Lortab may have helped a little bit too. lol It will pass, sheriah. It may not seem like it right now, but in a couple of weeks you will only a have a faint memory of it. hang in there. -
A trip to Europe. I want to be able to be comfortable and walk and do all the things I can as a healthy, normal bmi person. Also playing a whole baseball game with my grandsons. Grandma is tired of sitting out the family games.

Do you use a digital scale or a balance beam scale?
bromo replied to Amanda1982's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I only have a digital scale which is wonky at times. I can step on it three times and get three different weights some mornings and others it is on the money each time. The scale on the wii fit seems to be more consistant so I basically use that one as my guideline. -
Sept 2011 bandsters
bromo replied to WannaBeSlimNow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Anyone else have abnormal EKG?
bromo replied to Heather B.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had to have a nuclear stress test. I had my surgery on schedule. -
Mine just told me the eat protein first, veggies second and any carbs last if there was room. I asked her about the number of grams of carbs to give me a guideline of what number to shoot for staying under and she said 60. I am good with that. Although I already do low to non fat dairy and cheeses. The babybel lights are great. I agree on some semblance of of saying the same thing for all of us would be really nice.

I was a pot in the morning drinker. I am now drinking none. It took a while to get off coffee and diet pepsi, but I did it. I am afraid to go back to any caffeine as I am sleeping so much better and do not want to mess that up. Although I bought a diet snapple tea today but haven't drank it yet.

I live alone and although I was in the hospital overnight, I was out in less than 18 hours after surgery. My daughter brought me home, got me settled and went back to work. I did have everything I needed for aftercare here until I could drive. Although all my kids checked on me by phone, I was alone for recovery at home and did just fine. For me, it made me get up and move around more since I had no one to bring things to me.

Sharing some of my favorite food products
bromo replied to Rachel412's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Going to have to try these Just the cheese things. Sounds perfect for a lapbander. My go to snack is Babybel light cheese. And I also keep the Dannon light and lively Diabetic type yogurt. Both of them have around 50 calories and very few to no carbs. -
Lap Band With Gastric Plication
bromo replied to gingy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck to you. I am so happy with my plication along with the band. -
I had a round of dry heaving this morning and have been nauseous all day. I had to go pick up my grandson from school due to vomiting. I think we may have a bug. I am going to do liquids only today and see if things are better tomorrow.

HELP!!!!!!! WAY OVERWHELMED WITH INFO BUT NOT ENOUGH SPECIFICS TO BE VERY SCARY!!!!
bromo replied to tartertwo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Follow your surgeon's directions. They should have a nutrionist on board for you to talk to regarding your questions about what to eat. Call their office and ask questions. That is what you pay them for. -
I have no idea where my port is and didn't even think to ask the doctor. But, like Texasbandit, I have a fair amount of belly fat so not surprised I cannot feel it. But no, I cannot see it. I hope to be able to one day in the fairly near future, though. lol

I can't wait to ride roller coasters again! Have a great trip and ride the wooden one (if they have one) one time for me!
