Big woot! Way to go, byrd!!
-
Unlike some others, I do have a sensation where the band it located often. It is not painful nor bothersome, it is just there. It is not imaginary but I often wonder if I am one of the few that actually can tell exactly where their band is located by this feeling.
-
I'll try but not sure I remember exactly, but you should be able to figure it out from it anyway. Go up to the top left hand corner where it says "signed in as anymom" and click on it. That brings up a drop down menu. Click on settings, then click on profile. There should be an option that says change signature. Click that and paste the URL from the ticker site of choice in that box.

I have the unflavored as well, which I add to some things, but I can still smell and taste it.

BeckyJane, did you ask about the nausea? Just curious. Katyana, can you not measure your foods when you go home for 3 weeks? I measure all mine right now and don't yet have the confidence to eyeball it. -
I feel the same way about the band being a medical tool. What about a knee or hip replacement? A rod in the back? A Pacemaker? All those things are alien to our bodies but help people to live a better life. To me a band is no different. It is a tool to help save my life and to live a better one. Perhaps your dad doesn't know enough about the band to make a judgement call like many people who have not looked into it. In the end it is your call what you do with your life.

I don't find Unjury to be any better or worse than many of the others. After what I have is used up I will not be buying any more as it is simply too costly considering the price of other proteins.

Congratulations Thee O. You are doing awsome!

I keep the Snack Size WW(half serving of the huge one) chocolate fudge pops and diet hot chocolate on hand for when the craving hits. Usually my grandkids eat the pops up before I get one. lol At six weeks postop I really don't crave them much since I have pretty much eaten no processed carbs or sweets since a couple of weeks after surgery.

I can't wait until the girls are smaller. Sometimes it feels like they weigh 25 pounds each.

Understanding the before and after
bromo replied to medicgipson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, definitely a mindset change. I went from eating a box of little Debbie's for a snack to a low carb yogurt or a babybel cheese and am much more satisfied with the healthier choice. And it is not even hard to choose. Going through all it took to decide on the band, get through the process and then actually doing it gave me the mindset that this is the time I am going to succeed and with the band on my stomach, I am succeeding. It is a great feeling to watch the scales go down and know that I have the ability this time to keep it off! And I actually feel so much better eating healthy that I don't think I could ever go back to feeling like I did when I was eating lots of junk and fast food. You just feel so bad physically afterwards and now after eating I am sated and still feel good. It is a win win situation for me. -
Texasbandit, as sorry as I am to hear that your kidney's are not working as they are supposed to do, I am tickled pink for you to discover why you were not losing. It really made no sense in my mind, since you were doing everything to your body that is supposed to produce weight loss. I am glad you are back and in a much better frame of mind. It is so nice to see you upbeat.

Normal for a Dr to charge a big upfront fee?
bromo replied to SaucyBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My program fee was $300 and covers all the nutrionists, fitness and mental health professionals. All visits to them are covered for a year. My office was specific that that is what the program fee was for. I have met with the nutrionist 3 times already and have another visit scheduled next month and will see her each month for the year. I can see the fitness or mental health if needed in that time as well. -
My doctor also reccommends Milk of Magnesia. And yes, definitely take the 2 Tbsp not 4 Tbsp dose.

BeckyJane, thanks for replying. If it were a major deal I would call right away but it soon passes and I am fine. Just doing liquids/soft foods today as a precaution. I don't throw up easily either so maybe it is a side effect of the plication. Let me know what your doctor says tomorrow!! -
I also had a positive test for h. pylori. Luckily my doctor does not make you retest if you take the meds as prescribed. Just remembering to take all the meds is the only thing that was a pain about it.

Becky, thanks for your reply. Not really major exertion and I get it under control pretty quickly, the actual heaving, just have an unsettled stomach for a bit. I don't think it is enough to disturb the band, since it is not full blown throwing up. And my band is stiched in with the plication. If I had violent contractions, believe me I would be there when the office door opened!! -

Has anyone else had dry heaves in the morning at all? About once a week when I wake up my stomach starts rolling as soon as I get up and no matter how hard I try, the dry heaves come. I never had this problem before banding so I am thinking it possibly has something to do with it. I see my doctor on Nov 8 and will ask about it if it continues, but I was just curious if this was happening to anyone else. I will eat liquids only today as I do each time this has happened just to be on the safe side. -
