Mamma Lambert, Congrats girl!!! From my experience I would not get another fill, you sound pretty close to your sweet spot to me. You are losing but can still eat somewhat comfortably, I say stay put. I was a little looser then you are now, got a fill, thought I was ok, over a span of a couple weeks the band got so tight. The Pbing started which i could not get under control. I had to have a complete unfill, now I am struggling to get restriction. I have gained 7.5 lbs in the mean time and am fighting to get those off. If I would have just stayed with my nearly sweet spot fill I would have been probably down a good 10 lbs. Just my 2 cents!

I don't know if anybody is a biggest loser fan, but in the beginning naturally they put up huge weight loss numbers. But as the weeks go by they are happy to lose 4-5 lbs per week with that intense workout. I need Jillian to move in to my house:). I find it so interesting how we are all in the same boat, kinda just hanging in there right now. it would be interesting to see if this has happened to other groups 6 months out. Man, between the dough nuts at the cider mill, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah's, holiday office parties, or just watching TV snuggled up, it is going to be so hard. I am so glad I have the band, Kythera I am with you I could have easily downed a dozen of those cider mill dough nuts a year ago. You know what though, the band will keep us in check, then starting Jan1 2008, we will kick some major ass right before our anniversary! Yeah baby! before we know it, we will all meeting up again next summer, in the plastic surgery thread to get rid of that dam fat once and for all. Have a good day everyone!:clap2:

Mrs. Husker, I found that after a bad PBing episode my stomach hurt for a couple days. It could be the TOM though. I love you Gilligan analogy, after having a unfill and putting on 7.5 lbs in 10 days, I now adore my lapband. I had a fill on Thursday so I have dropped 4 of the 7.5 lbs already. Yes:whoo: Toodles, Janine

Mama Lambert, Yep, I think I need to stop stressing over the housework and enjoy the kids. I know like you said time will pass so fast actually it is passing fast. I just have to take a breath an live for the moment. The boys are biological, I adore them but I have yearned to have a daughter. So in 2004 we adopted our daughter then 4 years old, she is a delight for the most part. She did come with some baggage(emotional abuse we think). Thanks for sharing your advice. Sophia _ I have pains sometimes too in my stomach.

thick chick don't give up. I agree with Julie never, never. I had this damn unfill I should not have done it. I am gaining at such a fast pace. I get filled tomorrow I can't wait. Mama Lampert you are an incredible lady. What an accomplishment to have raised 10 kids and to have them all college grads your DH and you should be proud. Thanks for sharing, I love to hear about your family and your new grandbabies. I have to ask, we are raising 3 teen (19, 16, & 13) boybarians right now, and our little 6 year old Chinese daughter. So much stuff is going on right now with them, nothing devastating just issues, I get one on the right track and something happens with the next one. I am just so overwhelmed with the stress of raising 4 kids and holding together a household. I hate to get off the lapband track but do you have any words of wisdom too help a friend see the light at the end of this motherhood tunnel. Just a little down right now. Society is so hard right now, the innocence of childhood seems to be gone, replaced with things that kids should not know about or have to deal with at such a young age.
-
Kythera welcome back we have missed you. Mamma Lampert how many kids and grandkids do you have? Mary, trying to keep up with the speed of life. whew! I hear ya. Well 10 days ago I had a complete unfill due to excess PBing, I am with you Mama Lampert I thinK stress causes a,lot. I was very apprehensive about the unfill, but within the sec they took it out I felt like an elephant got off my chest. And now officially I am eating like an elephant, 7 1/2 big lbs gained just like that. I really felt being banded from March that maybe, just maybe my stomach had shrunk, are you kidding me !!LOL i just hate my self for being such a piggy. I sooooo need this band. I am going in for a fill on Thursday. I am hoping for about 1.5 cc'c what do you guys think?
-
Thanks Denise, I agree quality of life, there is something to be said about that. I was pbing everything. Why do you think it happened, do you think stress or just that the band has a mind of its own? It just started getting tighter and tighter:eek:
-
So my story in a nut shell. Had almost 3.3 CC's in my 4cc band. September 5 had 1.3 ccs taken out from excess pbing. Felt better and started to lose again because I was able to eat healthy and was not sipping down shakes. This lasted until last week of September. The band out of no where started to feel tighter every day, a little more each day. Eventually last Thursday out of pure desperation from ribs hurting from Pbing I had a total unfill. I was afraid I had a slipped band. I did not though, thank god. Anyway, after 6 months of being banded and having good restriction I thought, UUMM, I bet my stomach has shrunk and I will not be able to eat like I did pre- banded. Holy crap you guys was I wrong. Between Thursday evening and Saturday night I have put on 5 lbs. I could eat an entire cow I swear. So now I am totally depressed, I wish I had just waited out the tightness and gone on Clear liquids for a couple days to let things calm down. My doc is going to think I am crazy because I now want to go in tomorrow and have a fill. Has anyone else gone through this, Mrs. Husker I know you have for other reasons. Guys I have one thing to say I NEEEEEEED this BAAANNNNNDDDDD!!!! Oh, I love the second hand shops too, don't know what I would have done without them. I literally gave all my clothes to my friend. It just killed me because I am a big designer person (Liz Claiborne, Jones Woman, Tommy H) I have so much money tied up in clothes. I thought of e baying them but e bay seem s to have dried up. But I feel liberated to have those clothes gone for good. Where is Kythera????? Anyone see her on other boards, was she offended by anything from this board ya think? Congrats everyone on 6 month milestone. You guys are true inspirations. Good night, for now.

Momlampert, I am sorry to read about the passing of your dad. May you find comfort during this difficult time. Jeni, sounds like your in starvation mode to me. I was watching biggest loser the other night the trainer said that that is a huge problem with people that our trying to lose weight. You have to eat so your body doesn't hold on to the fat and calories. happy 6 month anniversary everyone, it sure has been interesting. I am soo glad I have this lapband on, now starts the time of year that I normally pack on the lb's.

Sugarbear, Oh what a terrible thing your going through, I hope your casted and have a full recovery fast. I hear you Neveragain, motivation is so hard to keep going. I try to watch health shows and shows like biggest loser, and the fat march they motivate me for a short while anyway. The winter is going to be hard. We can all do it though..............

All I can say is OH MY GOSH TAMMY! What a difference. You look wonderful! So can I ask, what has made you most successful besides the band?
-
Mrs. Husker we were banded on the same day and I was wondering what had happened to you. My gosh, what an ordeal. I guess the good thing is that they found to hernia. Don't worry October will be here before we know it and you will have your fill before turkey day, all is good. Take care of yourself

Carol what do you mean do better, the fact that those darn Cookies are laying in the grass in your backyard is great!!! You did just fine!! Thick chick 14 That is awesome! For anyone that has been a plus size for ever, I found out that if the plus size is big in the ole butt, you need a lady's size. I thought I would never get out of those damn old lady plus size clothes. I went from a 26 to a 18w. But then I went to lord and taylor and said to the lady, 'Why are these pants so baggy in the butt? she said Honey you need to go up to the ladies department. I have never ventured there, even as a 10 year old girl I was a plus size. So I bought a standard ladies 18 pants and it fit! Oh the possibilities are endless. Also today I wore jeans that were too long so I put on higher heeled shoes. They are a 9W I wore them at work for about an hour, I felt like I was wearing my DH shoes, they are so000 big now. I had to curl my toes to keep them on. Has anyone else lost weight in there feet. My wedding ring is history also, way to loose. I am just amazed at these small changes. Anyone else have any stories? Toodles

Hi Laralyn welcome back. I am like you and hoping to be under 200 by the end of the year, actually I am hoping for November 1 but at 219 I think I am a little too optimistic. You should hang around more with this thread, I thin it is very helpful. Have a nice week!
-
Julie you are sure on your way and looking amazing! Denise I hope you feel better ! lilnena, 75 lbs is a lot be proud! It will be so nice to be banded for the Holidays, you will do just fine. OK girls ready for the big update. As you know I was so tight and truly felt I was in some type of starvation mode. I was sucking down shakes just to get by. Well, now with a slight unfill for the last few days, I have been able to eat Protein and chili, and fruit, and veggies, and salads too! I lost 2 pounds , it is so crazy. I feel soooo much better, now consuming food again. Girls, I think if we listen our bodys really tal;k to us. Tammy you need to buy yourself some skinny pants girl!

Hello everyone, First to answer the question, I weigh everyday. I know the average person flaculates from day to day, but if I creep up to much I know to put the brakes on and rethink what I am putting in my mouth. Well, I went to have a slight unfill. Doc thought I had about 2 cc in my 4cc band. Come to find out I had over 3cc's. No wonder I was so tight and miserable. He left 2 ccs and I actually ate healthy and "lapband normal" for the first time in a long time. I already feel so much better. Thanks guys for encouraging me, to the point of going to see the doc today!
-
Hi Tammy welcome back! Wonder were Kythera is? Where are you girl? Anyway, I am biting the bullet and having a little unfill. I have not dropped more then 2 lbs in a long time. Maybe I am consuming 500- 800 cals a day. I think I am in a starvation mode. When I drink I gurgle really bad, anyone else have this. I can;t eat anything but real soft foods such as applesauce, yogurt, ice cream. No salad,o r fruits and veggies, no Protein except for cheese. You guys think I am too tight???
-
Hello Marchies I can;t believe we are marching into September. One thing to say: I SHOULD HAVE GOT THE LAPBAND YEARS AGO! I am thrilled with my lapband. Still working on some image issues, but who isn't. I do have a problem with PBing and am quite tight just taking things day to day. General question: Do you, for the most part, eat a soft diet? I seem most successful eating softer foods. Love you guys!!!!
-
Carol, you have 3cc's in a 4cc's band WOW! Yes, I definetly feel like I am in a fish bowl. I mean people assume the weight is just going to drop off . They get the Roun Y with the lapband. As it is ya beat your own self up with every bite you take, and every step you walk, then people are standing in line behind to beat you up with there high expectations and scrutinizing what your eating.
-
Carol, Sugar bear, Seems like were back in plateausville again. Anyone have any successful advice on how to break the plateau. I too am so discouraged. I mean we are talking weeks at the same 2-3 numbers up and down. I am ready to sign up for the Fat March and walk across the country.LOL For those of you that have kids, are people noticing your weight loss other then your face? From past pregnancies the more I lose the more disproportionate I am looking. I know I will be a perfect candidate for a tummy tuck. Oh darn! I feel bad I am being negative. I think I am just a little stressed now starting back to work on Tuesday and all eyes will be on me from co workers who have not seen me since June. I hate that attention. Have a great weekend. Janine
-
Hey Thick Chick we are almost the same. Have you had long times on plateaus, I have. I am happy with the 50 lb loss I just want to get out of the 220's.
-
Only problem is those xl's are hard to find. I swear the average woman must be an xl. I also work at a school, going back on the 4th. Anyway to of the teachers stopped over, they are like dam Janine your head has gotten so small. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not. LOL After 4 pregnancy's my tummy is definetly hanging out there compared with the rest of my body.

You guys are so funny! I find this thread so helpful. Sounds like we are all pretty tight. Hazel you can really tell your losing great job. Mary sounds like you and I are in the same boat!! Hate that tight chest feeling....hope your pain goes away. Nikki I am with you not really enjoying eating anymore....it will be really weird over the holidays Denise and Juli- love those band names..u r so funny Momlampert do I dare say I hope u have good restriction so u can join the rest of us PB er's LOL.....keep us posted

One other tidbit it is interesting that at our support group it is kinda the lapbanders against the Rouyn Y. Very interesting!!! Both sit and defend their decisions. I think it is very entertaining and informative for the newbies that come to observe before having surgery.

Mary I do love the snow, just not the indoors for sooo long. I am with you with those darn M & M's. They just melt in your mouth not in your hands.!!!LOL So I read somewhere that you need to lose 50 lbs for people to notice, well I am there. And yes, people are noticing. Here is the issue though, like so many here I just can't really believe when people say that I really look like I have lost. I have such a screwed up body image. On another note I am still dealing with a PB 2-5 X's a week. But then yesterday I ate a yogurt, a taco, and some fish and had no problem. It is so incredible finicky. So here is something very interesting. I was at work (at a school) and a sub came in she was a very large lady. We chatted and it came out that she had the RY 10 years ago and has gained back every pound then some. I went to get my haircut and met a women same thing. Back to what I wrote before, once people notice you lose weight they ask how you are doing it. The bottom line is so many people have commented that they themselves, or they know of someone that had the RY (full Bariatric surgery) and have gained weight back. I am soooooo glad I had the belt put on instead. The fact that it is adjustable I think is such a key for over all long term success. I what love to hear if you guys are hearing the same stuff.
