here's me muffin top and all!!

I am 5 4 so not to far off. I felt quite amazing at 208 and could have been happy right there. I was fitting nicely in womens size 16. I know this was still far from ideal. Julie, 14 is great, that is considered the national average women quoted by Dr. Oz. Under 10 hours doing cardio is not to shabby, life is busy. Glad you have a good sweet spot. I had it and lost it, but am positive I will again. You think that you still lose about 1-2 lbs per week like told in the beginning? Found out today from my new board that many dr.s are steering away from RNY because of the success rate.
-
Here is something else I found interesting. When I had my surgery done 2 of the people I encountered had had the RNY. One has been successful the other is gaining rapidly. She said that they are starting to put the lap band on the RNY patients that are regaining.
-
2nd time around for me, lost 68 lbs in less then 1 year. never ate 1 sugar free product. I was considering getting the rny but I was told about the fact that you have to do sugar free because of dumping(body can't process sugar). Right then and there I knew I was going to do lapband because you don't have to do sugar free. i am probably going to get flamed her but here goes. I just hate to put that artificial sweetener in my body. In fact all this processed Jello and pudding are gross as it is to me. I think that the doc's push the sugar free to up the results faster on weight loss. However, showing on my original board there were people that did both and pretty much being 18 mts out they all have lost around the same amount and oddly enough most are hanging around 180. So my huge regret now is that I would have made homemade pudding. I just have been dumping out that jello pudding yuck!

I just got to say one more time this sept 16 group rocks. We are so darn chatty and this is going to be such a positive thing as we go through this. I crack up everytime I see all the action that puts us on the top of the forum.

I hear you Teri about those eggs. Last time I would eat egg salad it was soooooooo good. I think that eating all this sugar type food Popsicle, pudding, yogurt, jello, shakes gets real old real fast. Your body is calling out for something savory, something with protein, seems egg is the thing.

So I have gained 31 lb's out of a 64 pound overall weight loss.So almost half of my weight loss is back on since losing my band. Bear with me, while I have a pity party for a moment, but hopefully it will be an inspiration to ya all. Well, my sleep apnea is in full swing again, feel like crap, I can't cross my legs again, I am busting out of my clothes and I got rid of everything so I have no clothes to fall back on. I am snoring, I am out of breath again. I have love handles, and a double chin that had mostly gone away. My wedding ring is tight again. My feet are aching from caring the fat around. Do you guys remember when you lost just enough of the weight to feel like you were lighter and kinda almost floating compared to how it had been at your highest weight. Well, that feeling is long gone, I miss that the most. I have to stress this so much...be good to your band, keep fills at a good amount, do not get into vomiting or Pbing episodes. You guys do not want to lose your bands. I have never ever been able to diet, to keep any weight off. The band is the only thing that has worked. I should have respected it more.__________________ Well one major thing is yes, everyone has a vice they fall back in times of despair, but thank heavens you have your band. I thought in my head with the band, Oh I will never eat wrong again, I will never gain weight again. How many times did we say to ourselves before the band please, please let me go back to my proper weight, I will never gain the weight back again. I have learned my lesson. I got down right cocky with my band on. I began to look at those around me and think to myself, look at those people they have no self control what is wrong with them. That was actually my band talking too. Because I did not have that urge to eat, my husband is overweight with diabetes, I would look at him with disgust and say stop eating all that food. They often ask what type of eater are you? I laughed I thought I knew. I thought I was indeed just a social eater that loved the textures and flavor of food. But was it just that? Could I really be 100 lbs overweight just wanting to enjoy food among family and friends. WRONG I lost my band, I vowed I would never put one more lb on. I had learned, I thought. I am going to say it right here, we have not learned, we are compulsive eaters that turn to food in time of crisis. So shortly after my band was off I was so low, what have I done my whole life, turn to food. But here was the wake up call. My mother became ill, my dad was a wreck, and for the first time in my life I stopped and listened to what my brain was saying. and this is what it was: Janine you can't deal with this you need a cookie, it will make things better, Janine just get the cookie Janine, the damn cookie Janine. I had several Cookies and that was just the beginning. I am being rebanded September 16 after losing 70 lbs and regaining 35 lbs. I know now that I am mentally sick over food. I am very humbled by my experience and will try to have more compassion for those struggling around me. I will be so thankful that I was given the opportunity to once again have this incredible tool to help me with what I can not deal with in times of tragedy and crisis. Not to mention everyday life.

Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At
Janine replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Debbie you don't want to go on that scale after surgery at the hospital, they are pumping IV fluid in you. You will come home probably 5-6 lbs heavier then the morning of the surgery. It will go away fast though. -
I am getting the brand new lapband that holds 10cc, the doc said he will put in 4cc during surgery for some restriction right off the bat. Does anyone else know if they fill your band at all during surgery???

Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At

I had mu surgery on the 16 and spent the night. I was on heavy iv meds and still had a headache. They gave me tea thinking caffeine, put a wash cloth on my head, still had a headache. Respiratory came in and checked my oxygen level (I have sleep apnea) it was in the 80's not good. Put my on a thin tube of oxygen the headache went away immediately. They think being on the pain med was relaxing my breathing too much, and I was not breathing deep enough in turn getting a headache from lack of good oxygen. Who knows I am trying to keep the pain meds at a very low dose. -
Thanks everyone. It has been interesting on the other board. We have a big group that is divided by day of surgery. My surgery date is a very active group of people. I am on full liquids now, it is amazing to me that being only 3 days out some in this group are eating chicken salad and eggs! Yikes I guess I am going into this a bit paranoid. Julie and Mamma you both seem to be hovering 180ish, I know we always want to see that magic 135 that is quite hard to get too. But would you say you feel pretty good if you stayed at 180 ish? I am setting my goal for 170. Is it ideal no, but I won't beat myself up over it either, what do you think? Julie how is the body bugg going for you. They were talking a little about it on biggest loser this week? How does everyone feel now 18 mts out as far as restriction. Do most feel they are at their sweet spots. Are most of you happy were your weight is at and feel your a success? Do you feel that you made the right decision. It is amazing to me to see the people that have the rny how often they regain the weight. When I was in the hospital a few people that I encontered spoke of how they had the full RNY. Most are about 8 years out and packing on the pounds. Very interesting thing I was told some are thinking of having the lapband put on their stomachs, I guess they are starting to do this it is a new trend. I would be terrifyed!
-
If you guys are anything like me I live on that damn scale. But just a reminder you will gain about 5 lbs from the IV fluid so don't get upset. It is amazing how it drops off. I went to the hospital at 244.5 came home at 250.6 and 1 1/2 days out I am back down to 245. it's crazy.
-
try colace it is natural stool softener and usually works in about 12 hours
-
I today just advanced to a watered down full liquid diet. You guys are sure you can eat eggs and chicken salad and farina and chicken and stars this early out. It is crazy how we are all over the place with eating instructions.

Hi Everyone. Well I am rebanded on Sept 16. Doc said there was no fat around the organs or the liver. Thank god, with the weight I have put on I was afraid. There was a lot of scar tissue so he was there an extra hour in surgery. I think he did an excellent job, I am not nearly as bruised as last time. He put in the new 14cc band which normally goes on men but he wants to make sure I don't slip again so he went with the bigger one. He was going to put in 4cc's at the time of surgery but decided to keep it empty because of the swelling from the scar tissue. I am going to take this nice and slow.

Janine replied to nizee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am being rebanded On Sept 16. Anyway I found that it switched back in forth from losing lbs on the scale then when that stopped a few days I lost inches. Then back to dropping lbs a few days, then back to inches etc. It was really quite interesting. __________________ -

I am being rebanded on Sept 16. Doc is putting in the new AP Band that holds 10cc. He said he will put 4cc in at the time of surgery. I am wondering if any of you had fluid put in at surgery and how are you feeling, do you think you need another fill?

go under food, on the main board. A woman wrote what to eat on each stage, it's great.

Thanks everyone for reading. I guess I am in such a different mind frame going in this time. It's a good thing. -
yeah I was just a little surprised I never even thought of having fluid in the band from the get go. Good luck girl! Sometimes you get cold feet a few days out but all is good it is just your body in pain talking.

do you have restriction michee?
