EriMonae posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone I'm still at the hospital was told I'll be released tomorrow. I hate pain and I'd say this is probably the hardest prt of this journey. However the surgery went smooth. They said I am doing well. For any of you whom may follow my other content I lost the 5 lbs as needed prior to yesterday I was 236.2 when I checked in Look forward to meet size 8 and maybe even 6 if they want to be friends -

Hi everyone! Thank you for the wonderful wishes! I will be sure to keep you all posted. Today is officially day 3 of post op and I'm still in a pain. I took the brace off that they gave me because it seem to be hurting me a little more. I'm able to hold my liquids down and still walking around the house I just want the pain to go away but other then that I'm fine -
Surgery 11/9 & afraid of being rejected due to pre op weight loss
EriMonae posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Sleevies :biggrin2: My surgery is scheduled for this wednesday 11/9 at Fountain Valley Regional hospital in Fountain Valley CA. I'm a Kaiser patient, however. I had to lose 10% of the required weight and I've struggled with the last 5 lbs. Now Im afraid that I may be rejected due to this. Anyone get sleeved at this hospital and experienced the same thing? My coordinator from Fountain Valley told me not to worry since I've pretty much loss the bulk of the required weight but I am unsure still. Maybe I'm getting cold feet at the last minute and a little anxious. Any suggestions would help -
The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!
EriMonae replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I personally dont think you will need a suitcase for your hospital stay... you are not moving into the hospital. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and the only i will be taking is my cell phone charger, toothe brush and paste and thats about it. What i wear to the hospital is what I'm leaving in. My girlfriend had the surgery and to be honest she was in no mood or state to even want to put on an eye mask or rob or to knit lol... Be comfortable and you will be fine. -

I agree I find that a little outrageous and bizzare to turn someone away for that. I will try to post tomorrow and keep you updated and yes I can understand the holiday challenge I'd say just get the smallest plate u can find and do really small portions. GoodLuck! -
Am I losing weight too slowly?
EriMonae replied to 300PoundsDown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It depends on the person and you are ahead of the game! My girlfriend is two months post and has lost 30lbs.... Unfortunately gaining the weight didnt happen overnight and losing it definitely wont happen over night. Pace yourself because you need to remain healthy while losing. -
1 month out and nothing is going right
EriMonae replied to Toniawf's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Toniawf It is saddening to hear this, but this will not last forever and there is honestly nothing you can eat to relieve this. Considering the TPN is a inflammatory bowel disease you have to allow yourself time to heal. Take it easy and try to relax and remember to follow your doctors orders. If you feel your doctor is not giving you the treatment you require you have the right to seek another physician. Keep us posted regarding your progress! -
:O Red chunks in stool while on "clears"?
EriMonae replied to sirensiren's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Sirensiren this is definitely abnormal and id like to say it could potentially be from the Jello but once you digest jello it just turn into a liquid form and not in the original solid form. I wouldnt worry to much but in the meantime id still contact my primary physician. You always want to be sure to get a physician response on issues like this espcially just to ease the worry. Good Luck and Take Care! -
"Liver Shrinking"- the pre-op diet?
EriMonae replied to sirensiren's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
My surgery is in 6 days and i am going nuts! I was told i had to lose 10% of my intial weight prior to my surgery date and i have 6lbs to lose. Dont think i can do it but i will shoot for 4lbs by Nov 9th. My coordinator told me i am fine and i just need to do a clear liquid diet the day before surgery. I was not told about the liver shrinking however GOOD LUCK with your operation :aureola: -
Hope you guys are in great health and feel good considering you're one day out :bigear:

Anyone heard of a WLS "card"
EriMonae replied to fluffylibra30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I received one as well. As everyone has stated it just a card that simply states the procedure you've had and kindly ask that the resturant allows you to order from the senior/childs menu. I havent used it but plan to after my surgery. I dare the waitress in any resturant not allow me to use it! lol... You can not be forced to order food that you can not consume. -
My surgery is next Wednesday Nov 9th and I have 5lbs to lose before then. I've decided to do a full liquid diet starting today until the day of surgery. I want to commit to riding my bike this last week as well at least for 30 minutes to an hour and maybe do some cardio at home.
-
Hello Sleevies or on your way to be Sleevies!!! This is probably more so for the people whom hasnt had the surgery yet! My surgery date is November 9th and I'm at a stand still. I've lost 17LBS on my own and it came from just literally changing the way i consumed foods and i stopped the MCDonalds and Burger King and went to El Pollo Loco and Trader Joes instead. That lasted about 3 months and now I'm back eating the unhealthy stuff. Taco Bell, Carne Asada Burrito's and the list goes on! BUT I still eat the healthy stuff I enjoyed from Trader Joes. So my weight hasnt changed and Im not exercising any more like i usually would. I'm afraid I will gain a all of my weight back before my surgery. Are any of your struggling with the same thing? I know its a sense of mind control, however i feel as if because i know mentally that the surgery date is approaching I'm begining to binge eat I hope Im the only experiencing this nightmare lol.

This may be a reacurring Topic, but Im new to the site and would love your feedback on the process you completed with Kaiser all the up to your surgery day (or receiving the date for some) I just completed my options classes 8.16.11 and now I feel like a lost child wondering around at the park... Im currently waiting to be contacted for a consultation with the surgeon. I was told that all of my lab work had been completed and other test and now it's just a waiting game. Not to mention Im still working on my 10% weight lost that must be completed by my surgery date. Pre Options: 260lbs Post Options: 248 Must be 237lbs by my surgery date Im not sure where I am right now but Im almost sure I've lost 1-2lbs this week, I've been working out really hard and eating some what of a healthy diet. How long did it take for your to get your surgery date after you completed options? What facility were you referred to for surgery? Are you currently attending the support groups? Did options help you maintain yourself in the process? What are your thoughts? Thanks for the feedback folks =)

I'm sitting at work and just finished eating a chicken tamale from Trader Joes. thinking to myself! I want to create a blog where we all can share our opinions, thoughts, ideas, and journey. I enjoy giving useful tips and tricks and eating, exercising, and just living a happy life before and after the surgery if you choose that route. If this is your first time here, please introduce yourself and dont feel limited to throw what ever our there this is not a topic thread so please make yourself at home!! First I'd like to discuss who I am and how I got where I am I'm 24 years only, highest weight EVER 260lbs... ( I feel thats a little to big for my age) SO I've decided to have the gastric sleeve procedure and my surgery date is scheduled for 11/9/11. I didnt notice but I was eating approx. 4000 calories a day! which caused me to gain an additional 45 lbs on top of the weight that was already there! Was it binge eating? NO.. I simply enjoyed going out with my friends, drinking, clubbing and eatting! This was my life for 2 years straight. I carry my weight in my stomach and thighs so considering i buy stretchy jeans i never noticed that I was gaining all of this weight! I'd eating McDonalds for breakfast ( 2 sausages Mcmuffins with cheese please??), taco bell for lunch ( 2 bean and cheese burritos no onions with sourcream, an order of cinnamon twist and a small soda) and maybe even mcdonalds again for dinner ( Big Mac Medium Fry and a coke)! I was happy and this is where i ended up! I didnt want to be one of those people who created a blog after accomplishing my goal and cganging sides! NO I wanted to allow you all access to my progress because a little inspriation goes a lonnnng way!
