  1. Congratulations! Hope your recovery is smooth!
  2. Thank you for sharing your story FuriosMommy. I feel very hopeful.
  3. Just approved yesterday! So RELIEVED, so happy. It's amazing how you go from being uncertain about the procedure to ready to get it done!

  4. Hi Ladies, Why don't we keep in touch with each other. I have posted the same question, googled it, researched it and can't find a straight answer anywhere. I know that at my surgeon's office, a lot of children were born post-op but the type of procedure was not specified. I think the lack of information is due to the following: a lot of bariatric patients are older and the sleeve is relatively new. Younger women having this procedure to be able to have children is fairly new. My endocrinologist said that the key was weight loss - and the more the better. I am hoping this will work! My surgery is December 22nd - How about we all keep in touch? Efamcan

Hope you feel better but if you are not able to make it - Thank you for your kindness. This entire situation has been so difficult. I had a close friend be so negative - being able to hear experiences from people who have been through it already was so encouraging. Thanks Denise. Hope to meet you one day!
  7. For those of you who noticed a restoration in your cycles - Are any of you Trying to Conceive? Is there anyone out there with PCOS who has had success conceiving after the surgery? I would love to hear about it - I need some hope! Thanks.

Thanks for posting everyone. I feel a lot better and I am looking forward to meeting you too. Thanks for being so nice! PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome - it causes infertility and is caused by being born insulin resistant - which causes metabolic syndrome. After being unsuccessful conceiving I discovered that I had this and that bariatric surgery was a known cure. (It cures metabolic syndrome, which cures insulin resistance. Cured insulin resistance leads to restored ovulatory function, which leads to cured PCOS! ) My end result after losing weight is to have a child. So I am nervous for a lot of reasons! However, I feel a lot better after reading all the posts. I feel like I can do this and so can my hubby. Thanks again! EFAM!!!

Thanks Denise. We are planning to go to that support group so I will be so excited to see you then. Has anyone ever talked about having complications from the surgery? Can you tell me what is like post-op. My spouse and I plan to do it at the same time and I am trying to gage how much help we will need. I am nervous but I have PCOS and I am hoping for a resolution for it. Has anyone ever talked about PCOS in the support group? Is it normal to be so nervous? Thanks for replying. See you soon!
  10. Thanks for replying Finally Fit and RickM. Rick - Did you, your wife or anyone you know have complications? How sick are you afterwards? It is difficult to self-care? We have a friend who is willing to stay with us and take care of us for about 5 days after the surgery. Is that enough time to kept past the difficulties? Do you regress after they remove the drain. (Still not sure what that is - just learned about it.) Thanks for your feedback. Our friend recommended spacing it out too. FinallyFit - Please keep in touch and let me know how your surgery goes - I will be praying that all goes well for you and yours. How do you feel about being on different food stages? I guess you'll know when you get there. We are worried about being tempted if one person is on a different food phase than the other. Thanks.
