  1. Everybody is different. U may not get the same 'full' feeling u had before. I was banded 8/17/11 and have 4cc's in my band. I can still eat as much of anything that I want and I have lost 39 pounds . I eat differently and am more concious of my choices. But I still eat suprisingly alot of food at each meal. Im not complaining. The fat girl in me loves it. My doctor says that its ok, the idea isnt to get 'stuck' and be miserable. He says the goal is not to snack and not feel hunger between meals. I feel like this is too easy and I must be doing something wrong. I can only hope its this easy forever.
  2. Banded 5 weeks ago. Have had one small fill. My doc doesn't tell how many cc in a fill. Had to drink water during my fill until it stuck. Anyway that was 8 days ago. Did the liquids for 24 hours, went to mushies and back on solid foods 6 days ago. I can eat a suprising amount of food without feeling full. I have to make myself stop eating for fear I will gain weight. Have not been full or uncomfortable at meals. However, water is getting stuck. Sometimes its after one sip, sometimes two or three. I have tried it at all temperatures (cold, room temp) and it doesnt seem to make a difference. It also doesnt matter when I drink..it still sits on my chest for a few moments before it finally funnels down. Its strange to me that food goes down fine but water gives me a problem. Has anyone else experinced this ?

  4. I too could 'feel' my band for about the first month after surgery. It FREAKED me out. I thought I couldnt live the rest of my life with this feeling. But it is completely gone now. I am five weeks post op today. I think it must have been postop swelling. I am hopeful for u . I think u will be fine in time. I am a worry wart and empathize with u.
  5. I am four weeks out. Feeling great, lost 20 pounds since pre- op diet. I have noticed the last three days that I am hungry all the time. My first fill appointment is tommorow. (Did not have a fill at surgery). I'm getting a little nervous about what to expect. I'm not afraid of the needle. I just need to mentally prepare myself for what restriction feels like. Can you feel the band tightening? Is it uncomfortable, and if so how long does it take to readjust to the restriction?

    Rash

Please, please, please call your doctor. Lapband is a simple procedure but still has the risks that all surgeries have.
  9. I think 10 pounds in 24 days sounds great. To stay healthy you shoudn't loose more than 2 pounds a week. Plus, if you loose too fast your skin will not be able to adjust and you may end up with more flabbiness than necessay. Don't beat yourself up. Sounds like your doing great to me. If you can eat up to 1300 calories daily and still loose at this rate, you will make it very close to your 40 pound mark by Christmas. Won't that be great !?!
  10. I am three weeks postop. I have followed the diets strictly. Im afraid to ruin such a helpful tool. However, i am extremly uncomfotable at almost all times of day. I feel heavy pressure in middle of chest down to my stomach. It feels as tho i have resriciton but i dont. I eat wisely. Liquids, mushie solids, etc. I cant find comfort despite the many ways i try to sit or lie down. I am goin into panic mode. I cant walk aroind with this feeling all the time. I dont kno how to describe it. Feels like pressure from the inside out. Is this normal? Its been three weeks, i thouhgt i was healed. Has anyone felt this and how long does it last.? I tried to rule out gas by walkong, heatting pad, lots and lots of gasx. If this is a lifelong side effect, then i want no part of it. I cant sleep, cant concentrate. Not looking forward dto my first fill because of this. Im so frustrated that paranoia is sitting in. (Did they cut my liver, is the band on incorrectly, am i healing wrong, did i do something wrong). I just need reassurance thaf i am not the oy one
  11. Indention is a good description of it
  12. I dont know what happened. But I woke up this morning and the feeling is gone !! I think I just needed to vent the frustration ! Lol. Maybe I was stressing myself out. Thanks for the reassurance ! I am now ready to face the next stage.
  13. I was banded on 8-17-11 and I have that too. It is funny looking, but not painful. Mine feels bumpy too. All my other other incision looks great with Nice straight lines and clean looking scars. I have a friend who had surgery two years ago who had this same thing. Hers 'leveled' out as she lost weight and is barely noticeable. Let's keep our fingers crossed that ours do too I cant wait to see if others have this too.

    Calling all A11s!!

My name is Missy. I was banded on August 17th. Doing GREAT !!! I went to the State fair 3 days after surgery. Have only taken Aleve for discomfort, not pain. I suggest walking ALOT to relieve co2 gas. I am still on liquid diet and I feel hungry . Only complaint is real soreness where the port was placed. Super excited to be an A11.
  15. checking to see how you are doing? hoping your recovery is good. I am doing suprisingly well. Wondering if you can 'feel' the band in your stomach ? Im wondering if it's in my head.
