I was always the hefty one in my class growing up and was heavy throughout high school.  After having my first child suffer from problems due to gestational diabetes and the threat of it sticking with me, I knew I had to do something.  After finally getting a job with great health insurance benefits, my husband and I talked about it and I decided to make the commitment.  It took about 4 fills to get it just right...then I got pregnant with my second child.  Now I am pretty much starting over and then some.  I gained about 40 pounds with my second child and only lost 20 of it after 6 weeks making my new starting weight 20 pounds heavier than before I had the band.  But I am ready to forge ahead and make the commitment.
