  1. 2 years has passed since you registered at SleevePlicationTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary chi-chic!

  2. Hi sorry I have been a little MIA. Trying to take care of little things, because I go back to work on wed 1/13/10 after my 2 week post-op visit. Energy: not that bad, I have been going to the gym for a 30 min treadmill walk (i live in the frigid midwest) after that I need a nap, but overall I feel great!. End of the day I am tired and sleep good, but during the day is ok. Food: I move to soft solid foods this wed. I have been on pureed consistency since I left the hospital. I still seem to have to have a Protein shake daily to make my 60-75 grams. Hopefully that will change once I move to soft solids and can have more chicken. I do get real full on a few spoonfuls of food, so that may present a challenge when the food is more solid/dense. gas: still burp alot, I think this is how I have to judge full. More need to burp as I fill up. weight: I lost a lot that first week 14 over the first few days, then my monthly came and gained 2 back, now i'm down another 4 for a total of 16 lbs since surgery. Just my little update. Please let me know how its going for everyone else.

    Really Great Moment

Barbann, I am soooooo glad you asked about fullness, I am having the same question. We were sleeved on the same day, (although I did not have a drain) my full and "do I take another bite?" point seems the same. The burping and gurgling I guess is the sign this early in the game. Feedback from sleevers further out is welcome! CC
  4. I was told not to stop drinking before and after food for a number of reasons: 1. Water w/food will make what you eat mushier (sp?) and a "slider food. Similar to drinking a shake or puree 2. Because it is mushy and not dense solid you eventually will be able to eat more, and "eating more" often leads to slowed weight loss or weight gain 3.you will move the food through faster and will not get that full feeling as soon nor as long. I would ask your team too. I had to do it the hard way and not have any beverage on the table at all. by the time I go and fix one it has been about 20 min. I am on pureed foods now so its not as big of a deal now, but will be later. CC
  5. Thanks Barbarann and i1linda for the welcome and support. I am following closely the posts of my same day sleevers for update, tips and tricks. I seem to be a little behind (nausea, etc.) but i feel like I am doing great!!. No more nausea, walking like a champ, Protein & Water in, poops out, and weight off!:biggrin0:
  6. HI Chi-chic here, I was sleeved in Chicago on 12/29/09. Regretted it the first day due to anesthesia related paralyzing nausea. Second day and beyond I am sailing through getting better everyday with walking, Protein, getting out the house etc. CC
  7. Barbarann, I was sleeved on Tues 12/29 also. I finally pooped today. I took ducolax once in the morning thur and Friday. Finally went today, soft not diarrhea after a long walk (not fast) this morning. Keep up your fluids and walking, Milk of mag, and whatever stool softner your doc recommends and you'll go in no time. Right now your body is using essentially everything you put in, and it will take a little bit before you have enough waste from that to poop. Good luck
  8. Had leak tests done in the OR, and surgeon does it that way everytime and has little to no leaks <0.5%. I feel great, and would not hesitate to contact my surgeon if I had any unsettling feelings. Follow the slow progression of diet, and don't be too anxious to move to regular food and give your new stomach adequate time to heal and it should be OK. CC

    Officially POST-OP!

Good to see there are others who have strange feelings when sipping liquids. Not pain, but weird gurgling, and some belching after most sips. leg muscles and arm muscles help too w/getting up from the bed or sitting. CC
  10. HI I am a newbie. I was sleeve on 12/29 and discharged on 12/30 no drain, etc. First day (12/29) was horrible, due to paralyzing nausea. After going through 2 rounds of 3 different nausea meds and a nausea patch I woke up on the next take ready to get started. Each day I wake up better than the day before. First day home (12/30) barely got in Water and no Protein, only Jello. Day 2 at home 12/31, I got in about 20oz water, and some pureed protein. Today, Day 3 I have gotten in about 40GMs protein 30oz water/fluids. Wounds feel better each day to, I am able to sleep on my stomach only taking extra-strength tylenol. Walking has been the easiest thing through this all. Frigid cold spell so not able to walk outside, but walking the hell out of the house. Feel up to going out tomorrow, maybe to gym to just walk slowly, but for a longer time. Thanks for listening(reading) CC:blushing:
