  1. I can't even begin to tell you how much we should be friends However, since being sleeved and dropping almost 70 pounds, my husband has three girlfriends on the side and is meaner than ever. Me thinks someone is a little miserable in their own skin and quite jealous now Keep your head up and always remember that you are doing this for YOU!!!!!!!! You are in the business of you.
  2. I agree with Dooter.... you look much smaller than a 20 to me too! Don't be so hard on numbers. I have lost VERY slowly compared to others, however, I have gone from a 20 to a 12 in 3.5 months. If I went solely by scale numbers, I would be incredibly discouraged.
  3. The mayo didn't sit well with me until recently and I am almost four months post-surgery. Also, eggs, no matter how they are cooked, continue to be waaaay too heavy for me. The first couple weeks of mushies, I absolutely live on KFC mashed potatoes.
  4. My doctor gave me a surgery card. It states that I had a gastric surgery and can only consume a maximum of 4 ounces per meal and that they request I be allowed to order from the kids menu or the senior's menu. I have used it and only had one problem one time. I attempted to use it Hometown Buffet, and the manager told me that corporate will not allow them to accept the surgery cards and that I had to pay full price, so I told him that I just chose not to eat. The thing that kills me is that there, it only saves 50 cents! I sat and watched my family eat, and then came home and fed myself.

    High Cholesterol (ldl) Wth?

I just posted about this recently. My cholesterol pre-surgery was 156, and three months post-op was 199.
  6. I am 3.5 months post-surgery and down approximately 60 pounds. I started at a 42F, and could only wear one bra, Frederick's of Hollywood Smooth Sensations full-figure bra. I went down to a 40F pretty quickly at the beginning. I am now wearing the exact same bra, but I am wearing a 36F. I am kind of surprised that my band size has changed so dramatically but I have lost NOTHING when it comes to cup size. Did you ladies lose cup size also? I seem to remember seeing lots of posts where women had lost their breasts with the weight loss. I thought I was gonna finally be able to do the cute matching bras and panties sets.... guess not! It's rough to find things in a 36F. Happy New Year everyone.
  7. I had to mix water with apple juice at the beginning.... At the start you just need to get down any liquids you can.

    Question

I think you will be fine being away from home barring any complications, however, be prepared for the fatigue you will feel with little activity
  9. @Khy.... ewwwwww! I can't believe your instructor said that! How freakin' rude! Mine seem a little softer, but are definitely still the same size and I don't have the loose gross skin yet, although I am sure that is coming soon.

    Hysterectomy

I had a laproscopic hysterectomy and even that was WAAAAAAAAAAY worse. I couldn't believe how little pain I had with the sleeve, I kept thinking it was the drugs, but I only took them for two days, and am not sure I needed them after the first half-day
  11. The OUCH my wallet feels because I am constantly buying new clothes so I don't look sloppy at work (law office) and actually having to buy a belt for the first time.... oh the humanity!
  12. I am now just over three months post-surgery. I have some numbness in two of the toes in my right foot, so my regular physician decided to run some labs since the surgeon won't run them until six months post-surgery. In December 2010 my cholesterol was 247. In February of 2011 I had gotten it down to 150. I was really hoping my labs would be at or close to normal, however, I just got the results and my cholesterol is up to 199! What the eff? My gastric bypass friend says it has to do with our bodies returning the food back to our systems more quickly (no idea what she's talking about) and that action can cause increased Cholesterol Levels. My LDL was 39 for reference. Everything else was fine, somethings on the lower side, but nothing was too low or too high and all fell within the "normal range" I kind of expected my B12 to be low and for that to explain the numbness, but it was within normal range also. Did anyone else experience INCREASED cholesterol post-surgery?
  13. I felt that lump too, but for me it was acid reflux. I had never experienced it before and as soon as I got on the acid reducer it was gone.
  14. I went through several months of laser hair removal pre-surgery and am now three months post-surgery. I have not noticed increased hair growth, but I am afraid that will happen, which is why I have stayed away from taking Biotene. I am having fairly significant hair loss now, but am hoping it is only temporary. I would guess I have lost about 30 percent of my hair thus far. As far as shaving, I did it for YEARS. Always use a mens razor, and bikini zone worked the best for me.
  15. In another three to four days you will really start feeling better. Nothing got rid of the gas for me but time. I know it's hard to be patient right now, and trust me, no one complained more than I did, but you WILL feel better shortly
  16. I was sleeved on September 12th and I have "only" lost 26 pounds. Yes 26 pounds is wonderful, but when you compare it to others it seems slow. You just have to be patient and remember your body will do what is right for it. I try to resist the urge to compare my weight loss to everyone elses, but it's easy to do when you are reading the boards, which is why I have stayed away for the last month.
  17. I couldn't add more calories if I wanted to as EVERYTHING I eat makes me sick.
  18. Actually THREE TIMES what I have in one less week
  19. I haven't lost weight in 3.5 weeks, and actually only nine pounds total. When I see people complaining and they have lost more than double what I have in less time, it makes no sense to me. We all want to see results but damn near 30 pounds in one month? That's fan-freaking-tastic!

    Feeling discouraged

Dallas we had surgery the same day and at five weeks out I have only lost ten pounds. I would be very happy with 17! Keep your head up
  21. You are disappointed with your weight loss but I am five weeks post op and have lost just ten pounds. Trust me, I would kill for 28 pounds
  22. Thanks for everyone's words. Two more days have passed and still at the same weight. I guess at least I didn't gain over the weekend. Trying to hold on to the positive. I hoped for 15 pounds or so in the first month, so I guess I will accept 8. I follow up with my doctor this month, if things haven't moved by then, hopefully he will have an idea of what's going on. Perhaps it is just shock to the system. The worst part is I feel myself regressing mentally and saying, well EFF it. If I am not going to lose weight, I might as well not follow the diet right? I don't want to get to that point, but I feel it coming on. I hope to see a difference of a pound or two by next week. :/
  23. Tomorrow is my one month surgiversary. I lost approximately ten pounds in the first week and a half post surgery. Since that time, I have not lost any additional weight. In fact, I have gained a pound and a half in the last week, making my one-month total between 7 and 8 pounds. I have progressed past the point of EVERYTHING making me nauseous, but I am not losing weight at all. For example purposes, on Friday I had four spoons of the instant oatmeal, made with Water and unsweetened for Breakfast. For lunch I had about five spoons of Soup. For dinner I had two small rings of calamari, two shrimp, and two scallops, none of which were deep-fried. The only thing I drank the entire day was water. This experience started out rough with a lot of dizziness, etc, but I was happy I had little to no surgery pain. I was positive with that first 8 pounds or so, and for the past 2.5 weeks, nothing. Then when I weighed myself this morning and saw a weight GAIN I couldn't believe it. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo in regret land right, and am having a pity party, table for one. Just need to vent. Thank god for this board.

    HELP! STEROIDS!!

I was diagnosed with the same thing one month pre surgery and rather than take meds, I invested in orthotics. Now I have no pain unless I apply pressure to the area manually
