Thanks for all the replies. PGX is basically glucomannan which is a natural fiber you can get at the health food store. I saw it on Dr. Oz. Since the chewable ones seem to fill you up and keep you regular I may just pick some up at Walmart. Thanks guys

Please tell us what you did to lose 50lbs in such a short amount of time.

Would anyone be interested in starting WW support forum for those of us that are doing WW with the band?
-
I can't eat all my points. Since I have the band it would be really hard to do so. I follow the WW healthy guidelines and adjust my points to how much I can eat.

I am doing great! I have lost 4 lbs. this week. I feel better and have more energy. It's also easier to get out of bed in the mornings.

Carolinagirl What do you mean when you say you eat at max restriction? I am not losing like I want to and would love some tips.

Shelby, I felt like that too but I finally got enough courage to go back in for a fill. I just knew I was gonna get yelled at or belittled but they were so nice and so supportive and I felt encouraged when I left there. Trust me, you won't be the only one they have seen that has gained weight.

I went to store today and got my shakes and protein for the 5 day pouch test. It's gonna be tough but I can do this.

I am not receiving my email notifications to the forums I am subscribed to or my messages. I have checked my settings several times and it still doesn't work. I have also check my junk email and nothing is there either. What else can I do?

Thank you -
Has anyone ever tried the 5 day pouch test to get back on track?

I am so glad I found this topic. I was banded in Sept. 2011, lost 40 lbs and gained most of it back. I have been looking for a support group that can relate to how I'm feeling and to give each other support. I have decided that 2013 will be my year.

I had my surgery 13 months ago and at first lost 27 lbs. Now I weigh the same I did when I got my band. I am so discouraged and depressed. I feel like a failure. How do I start over? I don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

I have been eating mostly low fat and some protein. i have been counting calories. I tried to do all protein and got tired of eating meat all the time. I have thought about doing nothing but shakes for a while to get the weight loss going again.

The last 2 times I went in to get a fill I was told that Weight Watchers works well with the band. So I have been following WW except I have been counting calories instead of points. The problem is I have not been losing weight. This last time I went in a different lady gave me my fill & she said I was eating too many carbs. She said I should only be eating lean protein & green veggies. Well I can't eat meat very well. It gets stuck & I have to throw it up. Even chicken & eggs. Do most lap band patients eat very low carb? How can I eat low carb without eating meat? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

Hi ladies. I haven't been posting for a while. My son has had pneumonia but thank God he is better now. I went and had my 5th fill last Thursday. I now have 7.9 in a 10 cc band. I hope I am now in the "green zone". Last month and this month I haven't been able to eat for 3 or 4 days after my fill. I have been doing shakes and mushy foods. Does anyone else go that long without eating solid food? A different lady gave me the fill this time. She told me I have been eating too many carbs. The lady that usually gives me the fills said Weight Watchers and the band work well together. Now this lady tells me to eat low carb. I need to figure out how to combine the two. Low carb is a lot of meat and I have a hard time eating meat. It just won't go down. If anyone has any ideas please share them. Lisa -

Skinny3 & Soexcited - Wow great job ladies. Ian going back to my Tuesday evening meeting. I don't think I will say anything about me having a band. I looked online at Sam's Club and they carry the Premier shakes. I will head over there today or tomorrow to get some. I love how you are posting your daily menus. That really helps with meal ideas. I'm so glad this thread is up and running again. Let's keep it going ladies. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Lisa -

I think I am going to go back to the meetings. I really do need to be held accountable for my weight loss. I am so frustrated that my weight loss is at a stand still. I think the meetings will help give me encouragement. Soexcited - What shake do you use? 30 grams of Protein sounds very filling. I've been looking for a high Protein Shake. -

Melinda - Wow! . 75 lbs since Sept that is amazing. Will you please give me an idea onut is what you eat each day? I have people telling me Protein, protein, protein, low carb. Then this past doctors visit the lady that gave me the fill said weight watchers is good. I am so confused on how to eat. I lose weight steadily on low carb but it is difficult for me to cut out all carbs. I like WW but I am hungrier when I eat that way. Any advice would be wonderful. You have done awesome. I was banded on Sept. 15 and have only lost 20 lbs. Thank you, Lisa -

I am so glad to see this thread going again. I posted on here in September but no one else was posting. I was banded in September last year. I have only lost 20 lbs. I am very disappointed with my weight loss. I was thinking of going back to weight watchers too. When I went to get my fill last month they told me WW & the band work well together. I would love to join you ladies. I really need some support & encouragement. I am wondering if the band was really worth it. -
I have had 2 fills so far & can't even tell I have the lap band. I still get hungry between meals & can eat as much food as before. Is this normal? For those of you that are in the green zone how many fills did it take for you to get there?
-
I seem to be stalled on my weight loss and was wondering if a very low carb diet would break the stall. Does anyone have any suggestions?
-
I have just been counting calories. 1000 to 1200 a day.

Sept 2011 bandsters

I was banded on Sept 15 and I lost 11 lbs before surgery and 14 lbs. since. I was wondering what you are doing to lose so fast. I haven't been able to lose anymore weight for over a week and I am getting frustrated. Are you counting calories or carbs? I am just counting calories. I can't live on meat and veggies only. I try to walk everyday but there are days when I don't have time. Thanks, Lisa -
I was curious, does anyone do Weight Watchers with the lap band?
