I am 6 wks post op, have NOT had a fill at all and I am having pain every-time I eat anything. I was to the point of being able to handle eating anything(small portions is all)and last week I started having this stuck feeling along with pain in my esophagus every-time I eat, I'm back to "mushies" just to be able to get something down and even with that I have some pain. Has anyone experienced this?

OMG! Gas pains are no joke...
cosmogirl413 replied to chucktodd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 21 days post op and still have gas pains! They're are horrible, no doubt about that!! I was in so much pain last night, I was literally in tears, it felt like I was having labor pains all through my mid-back area and abdomen. I take gas-x and it helps very little!! I'm calling my Dr. today. I have read a few posts from banders that said they had it removed because they couldn't find any other relief. -
I was banded the same day you were, and had the gas pains BAD!! I felt 9 mo. preg with the baby's feet lodged in my ribs...lol Have you tried drinking prune juice? I was sooo constipated and that is what was causing the terrible pain(in my case)! Once the prune juice kicked in it was such a relief. Good Luck!

I am 3wks post op and I'm also having the same thing with my back, its upper-mid left side and constant burning pain. I thought it was from using those back muscles more to comp. the abdominal area pain that I have. It hurts the most at work, being a hairdresser, I'm doing a lot of standing, bending etc....

My name is Tammy, I was banded 8/23/11. I have 4 children ages 21,18,16,13. Divorced!! Only 2 left in the nest. My starting and heaviest weight was 222Ibs and I am 205 today. I start back to work today, so we will see how it goes(my job is physically demanding) . I still have no strength and energy though, I'm concerned with this, but I guess everyone heals at a different pace. My incisions are finally healing, so 2wks after, I guess I heal slower then most.

Day 6 and Starving
cosmogirl413 replied to Jess527's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to continue the protein shakes along with the clear liquids, I was just advanced to mushies 2 days ago and to be honest, I still dont want to eat anything. I have to force down liquids and my protein shakes, I did have 1 scrambled egg for dinner one night and 1 packet of oatmeal for breakfast and couldn't even finish it. I constantly feel full! I told my nutritionist and told her I feel 9 months preg. with the babys feet lodged in my ribs. Anyone else feel this way? -
How long is everyone waiting to go back to work?
cosmogirl413 replied to Jess527's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I can say is "CONGRATS" to those of you that were able to get back up on your feet and back to work!!! I"m jealous! I had my surgery on Tuesday, it's now Sunday and I still feel very sore, in fact yesterday was worse then the day I came home from hospital. I took off from work 9 days and I'm worried that I won't be able to handle it. I'm a hairdresser so I'm always on my feet. Just doing my own hair and make-up today was enough to wear me out. I also have had the worst gas pains, to the point I can't even walk and suggestions for this or constipation? -
Lap Band Surgery Day Stories
cosmogirl413 replied to pennyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, my name is Tammy, age 39, starting weight 222Ibs and I was banded 8/23/2011. I am doing alright, but started having the gas pains that everyone has talked about, and must admit they are more painful (to me anyway) then the pain from the incisions. I am sleeping better, thank god, because the night in the hospital was the worst night sleep of my life, the pain medication caused insomnia big time, it took my pain away but could not sleep for more then 15 min at a time. I dont want to scare those that havent had thier surgery yet, just telling you my experience so you know what to expect. The pain is not intolerable by any means, mostly just "uncomfortable" I have to sleep with about 8 pillows to get comfy..lol I do get up and walk around often, even went to the store today with hubby to get a few things and managed well.
