The next couple days might get a little more difficult so be prepared. You know the scab always turns ugly before it goes away and gets better. -
Great idea Cindy! Yeah I dread the winter months! That's kinda why I am hoping to have my surgery in Nov cuz then I cant eat that dinner, I'll still be on liguids!

Talk to Melanie Skymoon. About creams. She did a YouTube video on all the creams she uses for her belly scars and facial blemishes. Excellent video! -

Band vs Bypass
Lynn Schmibo replied to cristina2332's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are several reasons why I CHose Lap Band. 1) it is the least invasive and shortest hosp stay time. 2. ) noone is messing with my organs... No cutting stapling or reconnecting from the original design. 3) it is reversible if need be, if another illness occurred and it needed to be taken out, it can be. 4) you lose the weight slower which means less muscle mass lost. Also it lessens the chances of needing plastic surgery to repair excess hanging skin. If u lose weight too rapidly ( w/ GB) u are also losing muscle mass because they don't have enough time to firm up at the rate of which you are losing weight. 5) believe it or not, the LB has a longer term effect than GB. People seem to gain weight quicker after losing it that quickly. This is a personal reason for me, 6) Eventho going for fills/unfills is hectic , I'd rather be monitored regurly by my Dr than have GB and a couple followups and then on my own. I like that fact that oi will be checked every so often even if the fills unfills appts are annoying. Makes me face accountability to myself and Dr! It's your choice and everyone has to do what's best for them and what they think will work. I hope it helps finalize your decision. Good luck! -

What is the big deal about drinking while eating?
Lynn Schmibo replied to ms.lady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The whole point is to let the food sit in your pouch to make u feel fuller sooner . If you are washing it through the pouch , u will keep eating and not feel the restriction of being full. -
I'm getting the Band bc in the past I also have tried dieting, the part of losing weight is easy like Sweetpea said but my problem is maintenance.... That's why I think I need the Band the most! Its like a "headstart" for me bc I thrive on results.... The Band is so nevessary. I only wish I could have gotten it before I was 30! The last 10 years have been so challenging w/ diets that have failed for me.

The episodes you are experiencing might be the Dumping Syndrome. I call them my violent attacks, they are scary and can last from 45 mins to hours. I usually experience them once a month. I feel pain in my belly like cramping. Profuse sweating, drenched! Cold chills, hot sensations, for add diarrhea and vomiting! Usually by the time I vomit a couple times I am okay but I feel Lightheaded and feel faintish. I have passed out once. I didn't know what it was til I read it in a book. Hope u get to feeling better soon.

Is everyone truly eating only ONLYone cup of food per sitiing?
Lynn Schmibo replied to 14isabella's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
A cup is about the average size of meal after the band! -
Qtd - u r dioing what u are suppose to. The Band will not FOR u. You have lost by will power and refusal of failure- well that's right. It isn't going to be easy, the Band requires work. Many get it thinking it will be easy, the Band out of the 3 of them is the most hardest. With it must come willpower. , lifestyle change and harder work than the other two require. I personally think the Band is the tool that helps in maintenance more than the initial weight loss. I'm glad u r losing. Maybe you haven't enters the green zone yet. Sometimes it takes many fills to find your sweet spot. Also , I was wondering if you have a leak. If you feel like it is a balloon that slowly loses it firmness then I would ask your Dr cuz that sounds like a leak to me. You have a big size band. It may take 7-8.5 cc to find that sweet spot ! Keep doing what you are doing and you will eventually get it. The Band is awesome , but like any relationship, u have to get to know your Bandress! Then u will find comfort in having it.

Eating out on Fridays with co-workers

Any one of them has salad choices. Or try to split a chicken sandwich with someone. Broiled chicken w/out the bread. Nothing but water to drink. -
