hi. I lost 70 pounds by the end of my 6th month with the band. My doctor left Long Island and I haven't had a fill since then. I needed another fill in july, august and sept, but had no doc and after searching I finally found one. I have an appt for next week. MY problem is now i have gained back almost 15 pounds! I am so angry because we were left without a fill doctor! I feel abandoned, and was tempted to call the DOH. Anyways, I have to travel 30 miles on my lunch break to get a fill. I have the large VG band, and currently only 4.8cc. I can eat anything...I can't wait for next week! I want to lose all I have gained and then some! By christmas I want to be down at least 30-40 pounds. thanks for lending me ya ears! andrea -
SO I have been having sharp pain in my port side just below it...then the pain intensified over a few days and spread to my flank and back.... I went to the surgeon yesterday...I tested positive for a kidney infection...on friday if the pain doesnt get any better on the antibiotics, I have to go to have a CT scan. His thereoy is this...my port tube may also be wrapped arround fat or adhered to a muscle. if he sees the problem he will go in and take care of it. if he finds nothing, i can have him do an exploritory lap and if still he sees nothing he said that there is a chance he will have to remove the band because my body can be rejecting it. I would be bummed to lose the band...I only had it since Jan 22 and have lost a total of 52 pounds.

My doc pas pushing for the r n y also but i took the band.... ultimatly the decision is yours...you are the only one to make the choice for yourself...life is a little more flexible with the band and the recovery time is quicker with the band...

it is a website www.lowcarbfrinds.com... South beachis great and they too have a web site....you could join WW and do the core program...my doc recommended it

try the low carb friends website... alot of low carb foods....also south beach type recipes as well. Weight watchers also has good low fat low carb recipes...the core program is a good diet to follow...

Breakfast is easy... a slice of turkey with a sloice of cheese rolled up... cottage cheese with a little puree fruit, thin slice of smoked salmon with reduced fat cream chese on a bagl chip is also tasty... stallone pudding is good to. andrea

When I get the munchies I eat soy chips... a few does the trick...crunchy, and 7 gm of protien for the serving... another good thing is 2 reduced fat ritz crackers and 2 tbsp of cottage cheese or the lughing cow light cheese

Hi all, Haven't posted in a while. Here is what has been going on... 2 weesk ago I made stuffed cabbage asian dumplings...they were so yummy...but one of the cabbage leaves got stuck , and I went into spasms...this was a wek after my first fill... My doc took out 1.5 cc and I felt better immediatly. It has been 2 weeks I was supposed to go for a fill last week but wasn't feeling well..that time of hte month thing. This week I am supposed to get a fill but my doc had to cancel. It is ok though because I am losing weight and I don't feel hungry. I prob can go for a fill next week. So far I have made my Mini goal. I have lost 50 pounds by my birthday! I was 354 pounds prior to surgery and now I am 300.5 pounds. I was a size 32 now I am a size 26/28, and can fit into some 24's! Try oure protein drinks. they come in 5 flavors have 35 gm protein, 1 gm fat 1 gm sugar and 1-3 carbs. It is the best one I have tasted so far. I have tried muscle milk light which is ok, isopure is gross, a few others. Also the sly stallone puddings are good too.

OK where to begin... Lets see feb 28 was my 10th anniversary and we had a party to celebrate. Thre was a ton of food and cake...lots of cake. I ate mostly hummus and taco dip. I figure that had the most protin and least fat of ev erything. I cooked baked ziti, taquitos, pinwheels, etc... well no one took the leftovers home so I wound up eating it during the week.:phanvan This past sunday my nephew was Baptized and of course we had a ton of food. This is more then 2 mos after the lap band was put in and I was outta controll! I have been eating every 2 hours like a cup of food or more and my stomach was still growling for more. My birthday is in 3 weeks and so I opted to have my band filled today. We are having a party for my birthday as well! 35 years. Ohh not to mention a party on St.Patricks day! So I had the fill done. They had to "find" the port! tHEY STUCK ME 10 TIMES! Ouch! i'm still sore from it. They put in 3.5cc. At least I haven't gained any weight! :clap2: I was surprised because I have been eating carbs and junk the last 3 weeks! I have't been tothe gym in like 3 weeks either. I am lucky that I haven't gained and should take it as a one time grace period and get back to doin this thing right! I am on liquids for 3 days and puree for 3 days before I can eat. I feel like a tightness arround my neck but I had that after the band was placed as well. So here are my stats: 12/28/07 preop 350 1/12/07 preop 345 1/16/07 preop 343 1/22/07 banded 343 2/1/07 post op visit 328 2/9/07 nutritionist visit 322 3/6/07 first fill 3.5cc 318

Ok so on tuesday i was feeling good. I wasnt hungry, went to th gym and worked out for an hour. I had a lean body shake and started to feel a little nausiated so I stopped and drank Water. I felt better. I has a yogaurt which ent down wel, and a string cheese which also went down well. I had sweet potato puree and was fine. I ate supper at 6pm... a veggie berger and some tater tots (i know tater tots is a no no I only had 9) 4 hours later I started to feel nausiated, then my body tried to vomit..4 times...only thing that came out was water. :sick Then the other end started working full force and had the D word. Yesterday I had more of the same. The nurse at the Surgeons ofice said it might be a virus and just take clears and gatoraide. Tody I am a bit nausiated, and still run to the bathroom every hour(the runs) and sticking to gatoraide. My tummy is rumbling for food but I am afraid to eat anything. I think I will stick to clears. I have pain in my left side which I expect is from the surgery, and may have pulled a muscle while vomitting. I took childrens tylenol for the pain as well. Is there a possibility of slippage or something stuck? I am able to keep down the gatorade though i am taking small sips at a time. any help would be appreciated ----pooh---
