6 Days Out Feeling Great!
kymb replied to BOB052212's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bob, thanks for all the info. Went to my first follow up with MD and he told me basically the same as your surgeon did, try really mashed soft things, so I will go from there. If you come up with any other good food ideas, I would like to hear them! To the person that asked about how much time to take off work, everyone is different, but I can honestly say I was shocked at how bad I felt for about five days! I was tired and weak and in severe pain in the back from the positions they put me in on the surgery table! My port site hurt pretty bad as well. Hope for the best, but prepair for the worst OK and make sure you have days off just in case you need them. Don't push yourself! Kym -

What's Up With Liquids?
kymb replied to sandy.lyons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sandy, I lost about 4 pounds since my surgery Wednesday, but I honestly think it is because I was in SOOOO much pain, I could barely even drink! I think I was dehydrated! I had horrible pain in my back of all places, not my stomach or shoulder. I think it was becuase of the way they had me positioned on the operating table. I lost those four pounds in the first three days post-surgery and haven't budged since! Don't worry too much, the first six weeks are for healing, not losing! You will lose soon enough! -
I think you are right on target. Some people lose slow, but it beats losing it all at once and having skin that hangs like curtains right???

6 Days Out Feeling Great!
kymb replied to BOB052212's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BOB, I had my sugery 5/23 and my MD told me I can't have anything but liquids for two weeks. I saw you had tuna already. Did your MD ok that, or did you do it on your own. I have to admitt, I snuck a bit of "real food" myself and feel totally guilty now like I blew the whole sugery! It wasn't more than two or three bites anyway!
