Sleeve gastrectomy surgery 2012 or earlier
ImLooznit replied to TheRealMeIsHere!'s topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I had my surgery in 2011, I have regained 18 lbs, in the past 2 years, which don't seem like alot, but I feel every pound of it, I am currently on liquids doing a reset, as I figure, losing 15 lbs, will be easier than 40, If I don't take control now, I know it will continue to rise. Have done great up until the year and half, and it is up and down, but want to go back down and stay there, need to do, exercise more and drink more water, stay away from certain foods, which I usually do very well at. I WILL do this... Coming back to the board as it helped me from the beginning and been gone a long while. -

Stay strong everyone, we can do this. I will get this extra weight off, it is not about the number, it is how we feel. Just came back to the board after being gone for so long and looking for the support I got when I first had my surgery. Stay focused everyone, we can do this.

Just wanted to send out and see who and who IS NOT eating popcorn! There are many WORSE things you can eat, and it is not like we are gulping down gallons like we used too..... I still can eat about a half MINI bag and be happy. I have seen SEVERAL have the surgery, and THEN "TRY TO BEAT" the system... Yeah, OK WHY............NOW you have gained most of the weight you lost back, SO WHAT WAS YOUR POINT and WHO REALLY WON????????? Those of us that were serious STUCK to the plan and we are very HAPPY and healthier today!

Still loving my sleeve, I did read somewhere if you are craving sugar, that is a sign you are not getting enough Protein.... not saying that is a fact, but maybe somthing to it.. Still recommending to people... and then they thank you.. Drink that Water... Loving Life!!

9.27.11 Best day to the beginning of the rest of MY life! Also, very proud to say I have been an inspiration to MANY others and will continue to BE an inspiration and VOCAL about the sleeve to help OTHERS!!!! I always keep my surgery under wraps until I meet someone that NEEDS IT, and then I say, I understand I had the surgery X years ago........... after they hear my story and see me, they have thanked me for being an inspiration to them.... i just get so disappointed in the ones that cannot wait to have the surgery, then after the surgery, they cannot understand and TRY their best to eat MORE!.....I have seen many that should have lost 200 lbs only lose 80. You have to have your MIND and heart right. Surgery will NOT fix the PROBLEM!!! But I do not preach to them as they will not understand. Rock that sleeve and Drink that water!! You did this for YOU. Enjoy your NEW LIFE!!!! I am BLESSED!!!

Keep the focus on YOUR needs, I always order ( focus protein) and when they serve I ask for a to go plate....I then scoop what I WANT to take....... and if I choose to take all and feed the birds, that is my choice -

AFTER you have had the surgery, you will definitely notice the change... After my surgery, it would almost make me sick to go to a restaurant and see what everyone was eating.... just the amount on their plates..... -

I do not have to answer to anyone! I went from a "BULDGING 18 - 20 Women's" to a JR 7-8, Really.... Come on Laugh at me!!! I am HEALTHY and Happy!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM Laughing at you... you just do not get it!!!!!!!!!!! -
To all of you having or soon to be having your surgery, Best of luck to you. Keep in mind after the surgery, the weight will come off very slowly, You did not put 50 lbs a week on, you will not lose 50 lbs the first week, and you will gain, you will not lose..... do not be obsessed with the "NUMBER" you will lose inches.. stay focused, and I hope many of you do not do what I have seen MANY do, lose 50-75 lbs and think oh a little of this is OK.... always remember how you felt BEFORE surgery... how bad you wanted the surgery to help you. Surgery is just a help. YOU have to do the rest. Don't think ice cream is OK because it does not fill you up...... YOU have to stay focused, and do what you know is correct. I know many that go to Mexico do not get the direction many of us in the US do. Protein is your friend. Eat it first. No you will not be hungry. That is your HEAD thinking you are hungry. If we can help, holler. Get in your Water, and PROTIEN FIRST. You will not be able to eat a whole egg at first, funny I know, been there done that. Took me over a year and half before I could eat a WHOLE EGG!! Sounds silly I know... but been there done that.

Hold that head up high.. you should be very proud! Keep up the great work. -
Telling people about surgery... Advice needed

i kept mine a secret, until I was ready to tell everyone, once I started feeling better and losing, I was happy to tell anyone. I looked at it like this, you may help someone else that is thinking about it. Of course the decision is yours to make. People are going to talk no matter what... if you tell or if you don't. Best of luck to you... DO what is RIGHT FOR YOU! -
Queen, you need to stay also, this is where you started, and you can help so many, you can 'visit' the 60's, but please stay here Ü
-
feedyoureye, please stay in the 50's. This is where your journey started and you can help so many others, not saying you cannot be on BOTH forums, but would like you to stay here. Congrats you are doing awesome!!!!

Best and worst "compliments"

People love to JUDGE others, I had not seen my family since before my surgery. I traveled home for Thanksgiving, I had a brother and sister in law, walk in the room and I kid you not did not say a WORD about how I looked, SIS in law sat next to me for an hour playing cards, and 130 pounds less of me did not say ONE word about it. I say it is jealousy, really, I am HALF the size I was when you seen me last and you don't see anything to even say your looking good? Let them live in THEIR misery. That is the problem. We cannot change THEM. You all hold your heads up high, you are doing what is right for YOU and YOUR body. Don't let anyone change your mind, lets all just laugh at them under our breath! -
Sounds like GREAT things are still happening around here, Congrats to all you "LOSERS", and I say that with a SMILE!. My trip home went wonderful, I had a neice that had filled out the paperwork a year ago, and once she seen and talked to me, she said you have convinced me, she will have the surgery in Feb 2014. If we can all just save one person from the Hell we have all been in, it is so worth it, talk about your surgery if you feel comfortable, you will never know whom YOU will help!. Drink that water and follow those orders, and please continue to Pray for our Troops and Families.

September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!
ImLooznit replied to birdmadgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sheena, try adding flavors to your Water, you can also drink tea, coffee..... G2. I am at 2.5 years and I STILL have to make myself push the liquids. I had a hard time logging in also and had to write for HELP!... You are going to have stalls, may as well get ready for it, its going to happen, measure, try on your old clothes, you will lose, but the numbers just will not show it, the inches WILL. Congrat to you on your journey, you will LOVE the outcome! Ü -

My sis in law who had the surgery a year PLUS before me. Now keeps making such a point that I need to stop losing weight, and I have not lost any more in more for several months. YEAH cause your starting to gain yours back from all the drinking that you are doing! SLAP in FACE~~~~ ( No I did not tell her that, but it is the truth) -
After having the surgery, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year; 2 years 2 years PLUS. Best thing that I ever did for MYSELF. IF you follow Dr orders, you will lose the weight, you will feel better. you will WANT to get up and move.... IT WILL BE a WHOLE NEW YOU!... I congratulate each of you for making this life changing decision. And it is LIFE CHANGING!... Rock that sleeve, drink that water, and follow those Dr orders. I am getting ready to go see my family and they have not seen me since my mom passed in May of 2011. I had my surgery in Sept of 2011, I have not told them what I did, because I live 12 hours away and did not want to hear WHY DID YOU DO THAT... I will drive up, and they will all say ???????? but after talking I will be able to answer all questions and they can see that I am doing awesome...... it may even make some of them want to do the same thing, and there are some that need to do it. I will not press, I will let them watch me eat.. I will answer any and all questions, and support them if they decide it is right for them as they are the only ones that can decide that, I cannot MAKE them do it. I wish you all a very HAPPY Thanksgiving, and yes we all look at Thanksgiving differantly now...or at least I do..... (it seems like such a waste of food), but it is all about FAMILY and giving THANKS....... NOT THE FOOD Ü
