    Protein And Liquids

How do u mix unflavored proteins in warm/hot foods. When I tried that in soup it was a clumpy chunky disaster. Thanks
  2. You could definitely go back within one week but like other posters have said you will be weak and tired. I did surgery durin spring break and when I went back it was a struggle to carry books around, walk through campus, but mainly to focus. Our brains need calories to pay attention focus and comprehend. You can definitely do this just be prepared. I got rides to the diff parts of campus for the first couple weeks and also go to school with all your protein/vitamins and everything u need so ur not left hungry with no options. A rolling backpack also can help so ur not carrying the additional weight. Good luck ! You will love your sleeve.
  3. Thanx these sound good! I'm on mushy/soft phase now but I love trying new proteins to break up the monotony. Good fruity ones are hard to find.

    My Story So Far (Long)

First off I hope u feel better soon and please do not get discouraged. Prove the docs wrong and get ur Protein in I know u can do it! It's extremely hard but you will feel so much better. Just focus all day on recovery and drinking. I'm 5 weeks post op and I have no problem getting 100 + grams protein but at first it was a fight. Try getting powder and adding as little Water as possible maybe only 6 oz so it's less for u to drink but u also can get ur protein in. If u drink them with soy or almond milk that also ups ur protein, carbs, and sugar but in a good way. Or if u have a fruity kind u can add it to ur g2. Another tip, natural Peanut Butter. If u heat up soon just slightly.. About a tablespoon and try and suck on that for a while that's already about 100 calories and good sugars and fats. It goes down fairly easy. I hope everything works out I had the exact same problems I passed out twice in my 3rd week and I was embaraased to tell anyone because i knew they would say something negative. Just know that u did make the right decision. Nothing worth having in life is easy and this is no exception. U r working through a battle for your health and you will win!

    Halfway There

Well my 2 week pre op diet was 2 shakes and a low carb meal I usually just ate a salad or meat and veggies. The Protein Shakes I recommend are body fortress from Walmart. If u mix them with unsweetened almond or soy milk it's 30 g protein per serving and they're only $15 for a 2 lb tub. My starting weight when I went to the doc for the first time was 267 this at the start of my 6 month supervised diet. I'm 5'3 1/2 lol from Orlando. As far as loose skin... Now that I'm losing faster I do see some problem areas. I do strength training with light weights, Zumba, Pilates and I have my own recipe for moisturizing and stretch marks. This one is up in the air tho I guess only time will tell how my skin reacts but I know I'm doing all I possibly can to help it.
  13. This is a recipe for my homemade whipped Shea butter. Shea butter is used to even skin tone and moisturize. The other oils have many apparent qualities. 8 oz unrefined Shea butter 2 tbspns coconut oil 1 tbspn jojoba oil 1 tbspn Vitamin E oil 1 tbspn bio oil (optional) Everything should be room temp. First whip the shea butter with blender till its soft no lumps. Then add in the oils and whip till light and fluffy. Now enjoy. I put this all over right when I get out the shower, best thing is it lasts alllllll day long. By nighttime my skin is still soft ! Enjoy

  16. So I've seen a lot of posts about trying to stay low on carbs. Im one month post op and currently Im averaging about 800 calories a day and 40-60 carbs. How many carbs are you guys eating daily? How do you reduce your daily carb intake? Thanks

    I Finally Got A Date!

I lost about 35 pre op but that included my whole 6 month diet and all that. I dont remember how much I lost on my 2 week pre op diet. All in all I've lost 60 pounds though.

    I Finally Got A Date!

Congrats!! I know you are super excitd, your time will be here in no time. For my pre op diet I did Protein shakes twice a day (body fortress shakes from wal mart) and for my third meal I did a low carb south beach diet type meal. HTH

    Halfway!

Wow, you look amazing, what a major loss! Congrats, you r an inspiration.
  20. This is definitely normal you just have to force yourself to sip on liquids all day even though you dont want to. Try maybe some warm broth if your allowed or sugar free popsicles or jello. Those things make it a little easier to get in liquids at the start.
