I'm in the same boat. I had my first fill since Nov 2011 which puts me at 6.75cc. I've been feeling the same way. I drank some tea this morning before my protein shake and that helped. I think it's due to swelling after a fill. Vomiting also causes swelling and movement of the band. If it continues I'll have it taken out just giving myself time to adjust. I just felt like I was eating a bit too much. My weight loss slowed a tad.,I've had consistant weight loss of 8-10 lbs a month since the surgery. Down from a size 24/26 to a 16/18.

I agree with "hope floats". I think certain foods open up your appetite just like before your band. I try to stay away from carbs as much as possible. I have my days though. Most carbs like rice and bread don't do well with me anyway even if it's just a little.

Oh and another question....when this happens to my food doesn't come up on it's own. I have to "help" the situation because I feel the uncomfortable pressure or pain, the nausea, burping, and salivating. Do u think I run the risk of making my band slip if I have to force myself? Just wondering

Hello everyone, So I was just wondering how everyone handles their "attacks"....this is what I call them. I am currently (and hopefully) at the end of one. It started after trying to get in some more Protein and I ate 1 Vienna sausage cut up very tiny. The most I ate today was greek yogurt with granola. My last fill of .5cc was December 18th which brought me up to 6.5cc. I have to admit this amount has been a bit rough for me. I had it before and got it taken out because I got sick a few times. I decided to try it again and it's making my regular go to goods hard to eat. I wanted to give it a few weeks and see how I adjust to it but so far i'm really just on yogurt, applesauce, protein,shakes...I may try oatmeal. I sometimes feel ok with eating this because I know the weight will keep dropping but it's not really that healthy. Are there any foods that u find are healthy and easy to keep down?

Oh...pasta I can only tolerate a few bites..two or three. Pizza I never eat the bread but will eat the toppings. Crackers I stay away from too but cannot eat too many either.

I cannot eat RICE!! It almost always ends badly. Bread I don't eat at all. I had one tiny piece while on vacation. Chicken usually doesn't sit well with me either. It has to be cut extremly small and be extremely moist. I used to be able to eat mashed potatoes but now that I'm on my 3rd fill it's becoming harder. I can only eat a small amount which is the point I guess. I eat alot of ground turkey or beef with veggies cooked down in it. I also eat alot of Tilapia & Salmon. Depending on the day I may be able to finish an entire piece. I tried broccoli, onions, peppers, hummus, carrots are things I eat alot of. Voskos Greek Yogurt with the granola...my fav!! I drink protein shakes, sugar free jello pudding, applesauce, and laughing cow lowfat cheese triangles. I have become a crystal light fanatic! Scrambled eggs with diced veggies, low fat cheese, and turkey bacon broken up into small pieces is a fav for breakfast...seems to always stay down and fills me for most of the day. My guilty pleasure...Bolthouse Farms Vanilla Chai Tea with a extra scoop of unflavored or vanilla protein powder I really do depend on liquids alot to get anything in. Most of the time I am not hungry and have to remember to eat. Does that happen to anyone else?

There are a lot of things I cannot eat either. In the morning the band tends to be tight for me as well. I can tolerate usually a small portion of scrambled eggs and two slices of turkey bacon which I break into very small pieces. I also have protein shakes or Greek yogurt with a little granola. Chicken, rice, and bread does not go down well so I stay away from it. I eat a lot of lean ground beef or ground turkey. Fish is my best friend. I found myself eating a lot of soft food like pasta or mashed potatoes but I am now staying away from that too because since it goes down easier I can eat more and that's not something I want at the moment. I tend to tolerate food better later in the day vs earlier as well. I am not sure why.

My dietician did call me today and tell me that I must increase my fluids and protein because I am supposed to be on soft foods by the end of the week. She says I feel full because my stomach is still swollen and increasing my intake will stretch my tummy. Plus I'll get dehydrated. So it's an effort for me to eat...lol.

Yea I agree. My doctor told me bread is a no no as well. Carbs should be at one to two meals a week. Carbs are the enemy right now. I don't know to me we all made the wrong food choices to get to the point that we need use surgery as an aide. So we can't start a new thing with old habits. I'm not saying we all can't have Subway I just feel that at this point in the game I wouldn't have it. Probably not until I dropped quite a bit of weight and when I do...no bread.

Wow!! I am 10 days post op with no fill yet either. I can't finish anything yet....well I can.. it takes me a bit of time. It takes me an hour for a Protein shake and I have to re-visit a Soup several times before I can finish it. I am afraid I am not eating enough or taking in enough fluids. Just trying to get in the daily amount of Water makes me so full. I went to a restaurant last night with friends and just the smell of the food made me full. I took my soup home. Mind you I ordered 1 soup and the server needed two take home soup bowls to get all of the soup that he served me in one bowl. It's amazing how conscious I am of the portions now. I would have eaten that soup and then some before this surgery. I went from 273 the day of surgery and am now 268. I was originally 298. No excercise yet(am starting walking today) except light weights....trying to prevent sagging skin. My friends who have had the procedure are encouraging me to eat more(they said Protein shakes should be my best friend right now) so that I get my nutrients so maybe it is ok that you can eat it but in a week or two it may be a drastic change for you when you cannot. I am trying to stay away from carbs. My surgeon told me with or without this surgery carbs are not my friend. How would you describe your full feeling? I get a pressure in my chest. The first week it was a little painful but not anymore. As soon as I feel that pressure I stop eating or drinking. Oh, and remember you can still stretch your stomach if you eat too much which would defeat the purpose of doing the surgery. Slowly but surely every little bit gives you more room to eat. I know one person who followed the rules and it worked great and she looks great and another who lost weight at first but eventually she fell off the wagon and is still big...so take your time.
