27 Days Post Op! My First Post After Surgery :)

It's great to read your story. Are you feeling any hunger at all?
  5. Bumblebee, I don't have my sleeve yet either. I understand you being excited and nervous, I'm already feeling that way. I just keep thinking how this surgery is a gift. We will need to use the loss of appetite we will experience after surgery to make healthy changes that will last our entire lives. I can only imagine how proud we will feel after the first 20 pounds are gone. Can't wait to hear your surgery tale as you post your story to this site!!

    Step By Step

Hi Futureskinnypants, I have Tricare (military insurance). Just yesterday I finished all of my prerequisits. I know that every insurance company has different rules. Mine were: 1 Informational meeting 2 Another informational meeting 3 Attend 2 support group meetings 4 Attend 9 nutritionist appts (2 per month) 5 Psychologist Meeting 6 Blood work 7 sleep Study (not necessarily in this order) I do know that many insurances will require patients to be on a CPAP machine for 6 months if they are found to have sleep apnea. My entire process began in January and I will have surgery on March 28th!!!!! I'm very excited!!!!
  7. Thanks for all the info! Cant wait till my weight loss surgery next month!
  8. Until now I have been only researching the LapBand. But recently I've been leaning more towards getting a gastric sleeve. Did anyone else have this same delima? Why did you choose sleeve over the lapband? Any advice is welcome. Cynthia
  9. I have been researching online to see if Lap Band is the right answer for me. I'm 5foot 6 and an everincreasing 197 lbs. I consider myself a binge eater. I eat even after I am full, when I'm stressed out , and when i am bored. Will LapBand help me? I desperately need help as the pills I have taken so far are merely producing new symptoms. Cynthia

Thanks for your response. Was recovery after being banded awful? How long did surgery take? Any helpful advice you can pass down. Cynthia
