What was the last movie you watched?
Saved By The Sleeve replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in The Lounge
I saw all of the movies mentioned so far and they were all pretty good. My last watch was "Colombiana". I thought that Zoe Saldana did a good job and the story line and action was pretty good. -
I RECENTLY READ THIS ARTICLE ON HOW TO POSSIBLY PREVENT TOO MUCH EXCESS LOOSE SKIN WHILE LOSING A LARGE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT. DON'T KNOW IT IT COULD REALLY WORK OR NOT BUT IT SOUNDS INTERESTING. WHAT DO YOU THINK??? http://www.bodyfatguide.com/LooseSkin.htm

I've only lost 4 lbs this month
Saved By The Sleeve replied to Imlosing big's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I've had the same problem and have been stalled for almost 3 weeks. I am doing pretty good with carbs and proteins and calories. I cut out some sugar that I would get in from drinking regular juice and haven't drink anything but water and all SF beverages for the past few days and have just dropped a pound. So, I hope that the stall is breaking because as you said "it is so depressing". I had a hopeful goal deadline as well and this has set me back a lot and I know that I won't make mine neither. I just try to tell myself to look at the brighter side, at least I will reach my goal at some point with the sleeve, where as without it the chances of that happening were zero! -
6 months and 150 pounds later - Half way there

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN DOING GREAT :-) I KNOW THAT YOU WILL REACH YOUR GOAL!!!! -
I totally agree with what Disney said because I have been in the same type of situations with deprivation and greediness. I have to allow myself a little here and there too!

Suddenly Single... now what?
Saved By The Sleeve replied to dramagirl28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We don't know why things turn out the way they do sometimes, but it will get better and that you can look forward to :-) My husband got killed in a car accident in June on Father's Day of last year. I didn't know I was pregnant until 4 months later and I was 6 months by then (had the IUD so was very surprised to even be pregnant!!!). I was extremely sad and mourning the loss of my relationship, but I also knew that I had to live on and that I wanted to be happy again one day and I had to be strong so that I could help my older sons get through the ordeal. To get things started out on the right foot "for me" and to better "myself" and make myself happier in an area that I had struggled being so unhappy with for so long......I NEEDED TO MAKE A POSITIVE MOVE THAT WOULD BRING ABOUT A MAJOR LIFE CHANGE FOR THE BETTER and "for me" .....weight loss surgery was it. But I also prayed and asked for spiritual guidance as well :-) Everything will work out.....you'll see. Take care of yourself and let us know what you decide to do. -

Glad you are doing good :-) I have the "same fears" as you about foods and weight loss (no matter how small of an amount I eat) since I had surgery too! But we've got to do our best and think positive!

I'm going to hide the scale
Saved By The Sleeve replied to apple-saucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are all right about the "ups and downs" on the numbers. I weigh twice a day also, but use my morning weight for tracking my weight loss. For the past month I have had three separate episodes of the scale going up like 3lbs not even during "that time" and going back down to the original weight, losing a few more pounds and before you know it "up" again to a previous number by a couple of pounds! I know that I will keep weighing daily. I don't have anyone to hide the scales and if I get rid of them, I am pretty sure that I will run out and purchase some more! LOL YES THIS IS A JOURNEY........I JUST HOPE THAT I SURVIVE IT !!! -
Lean cuisine 1/2 for lunch 1/2 at break
Saved By The Sleeve replied to Guitrman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think so. I was looking at them the other day and a lot of them have improved as far as variety. Some of them have a higher carb count between 25 to 35, but you are splitting those in half between two meals and men usually can burn off a higher carb count then ladies anyhow. That is "if" you are watching carbs strictly because different things work for different people as far as weight loss. Calorie and fat wise they are really good for the full portion, so splitting it in half is making it exceptionally low :-) -
Future sister in law not happy with my sleeve
Saved By The Sleeve replied to faithstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think what you are failing to realize is that your sister in law has ALWAYS been intimidated with you and has low self esteem issues that she needs to deal with. What a lot of people don't know is that everyone who is skinny doesn't feel pretty and unfortunately sometimes they aren't, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty also comes from the inside out, which she seems to lack in that area. I myself have felt pretty and confident even while being "fat" - maybe not as pretty, but that can be expected. You and your mother are not going to be able to change the way she feels with all of your kindness because she is the way she is and until she becomes a happier person on the inside it will continue to reflect on the outside. That is something only she can change. Who in the world would even be jealous of their husband's "sister" anyway? That sounds plum crazy, however, maybe she is LOL.................but that's not your problem to worry with. All you can do is pray for her honey, live your life, enjoy your progress and keep a smile on your face because what was going wrong for you in your life and bringing you down (your weight) you are changing that for yourself. Now she needs to deal with whatever issues she has going on and fix them because it has to stem a whole lot deeper than being about JUST YOU that's for sure. She doesn't even have enough confidence to ask questions about "you" to you. So while you haven't gained your self confidence back yet.........let's start working on that right now today because you are doing GREAT and it is showing AND this isn't even "your best" yet. Don't be intimidated by her or anyone else because I'll bet that she won't be the only "hater" that you gain by getting your smaller self back :-) -
WOW! Well it was scary and exciting to have somebody cutting on our stomachs too and look how good that turned out :-) So happy for you and good luck!!!

Hey :-)
I am doing fine. I've been stalled for almost a couple of weeks now, but I've been doing a lot of strength training on my total gym and the inches are melting off (50 inches lost so far)!!! You are doing really GREAT :-)

Stall all ready
Saved By The Sleeve replied to Lots Of Hope's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know just how you feel!!! I am at a stand still also :-( In 3 more days I will be 2 months post op. I work out about 5x a week doing taebo and my total gym! My scale keeps bouncing up and down and it is driving me CRAZY, but just as you.....I know that it is going to move sooner or later LOL. I just hope that it does a lot sooner than later!!!!!!!!!!!! Starting in the morning I am going to really try and up my water intake and eat 6 small mini meals. I sure hope that helps. Before I had this surgery I was under the dumb impression that my weight was just going to be falling off steadily and consistently. I really believed that! I didn't think that I was going to go through the same stalls and scale drama that I have always gone through. I guess the real difference between now and before is that this time I will actually reach my goal weight one day HOPEFULLY anyway! -

Whoa the difference is HUGE!!! You look great, really handsome :-) That is nice to know about the tattoo and the skin snapping back with really quick weight loss. Since mine doesn't seem to be happening quite as fast as yours and I am 38 years old.....then maybe I stand a chance of getting lucky too. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
