Get it girl! That's fabulous! I am so jealous! Lol my surgery is next week and I was wondering about sex. My fiancé and I definitely enjoy each other.. Even down to just massive tickle sessions every day. We're very flirty with each other and I was a bit worried about being out of commission. Haha more for me than him! I'm sooooo excited to see where our sex life goes when I'm thinner. We're both heavy now so we out positions are sadly limited.

Harsh coworkers/friends?
futuremrsparker replied to futuremrsparker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my surgery date got moved up to next week. This, of course, is going to make work even more challenging on my coworkers cause we'll be short even more staff. Since I am the youngest and having an "elective procedure" the way they are treating me has gone from bad to worse. It's getting to be unbearable. I find myself hiding in rooms doing busy work just to stay away from the snarky comments and questions. It's like they think I need reminded EVERY TIME I talk to any of them of the fact that they're going to be so short staffed. They just don't get it. It was next week or 6 more months! I've waited almost a year! I don't want to wait 6 more months cause the doctors schedule is booked! I'm trying to "just not care" and remind myself that this is for me, but having to work so closely with these people is making me miserable and so sad. I'm not even excited for my surgery. -
So I was supposed to have surgery on May 2nd. I just got a call from my surgeons office. They want to reschedule it. I got really excited when they said they could do it next week, but now in sad because my work won't be able to accommodate that. It's looking like I may be having to wait even longer before this can happen unless a miracle occurs. When I say longer, I mean August or September. I'm SO depressed. I had everything in line and it was working out amazingly. It's just like everything else I try and do. Nothing ever just works out. Please pray for a miracle. I'll be so depressed if I have to wait months.

Yes, I did! my boss said she sees no reason in waiting and that they'll make do. My coworkers are already being really mean about it, but who needs them? Lol I have plenty of support at home, I don't need their anything. I appreciate all of you praying. God truly blessed me today! -

Thanks so much, Everyone! And BBdoodle, that's my argument. If, heaven forbid, I end up out longer than planned, it would be running in to people's vacations anyway so they would hAVE to deal with it. It's more my coworkers complaining that is the problem. Technically they would be jut fine without me. If you've seen any of my other posts, my coworkers have been my biggest stress throughout this whole thing. Even my finances boss said his work will figure it out whenever I am to have this done. No problem at all. -

Had some more annoying comments/questions from my coworkers today and instead of complaining about it, I just decided to stop. I read a quote today that said "Use your frustration to fuel positive motion." It's so true. They can talk as much as they want, but how will their words TRULY effect me in 5 years? I probably won't even remember typing this up! Lol I know I still have a rough road ahead, but I'm going to make every effort to use all of the frustration as power. -

K.buys, thanks so much for the encouragement. The odd thing is, what they say doesn't bother me. I just am sick of hearing and getting questioned. I just wish they would hush and worry more about their own lives. Lol Cherry, I have 2 coworkers that both had RNY and were very successful. They are both about twice my age and, unfortunately, treat me as such. They need something to talk about and for some reason, I am it. They keep giving me every reason in the world as to why I shouldn't do it. The latest was that I'll gain all of my weight back when my future husband and I decide to have kids. My response was "I could gain it all back either way, if I choose not to eat well." I'd be more afraid to have babies being 300+ pounds! That's not fair to my future children! How does mom explain that she can't run around in the yard because her knees hurt from her weight? Basically, they are just putting their two cents in when its not wanted, at all. I'm just frustrated. Unfortunately, working with women, that is going to be a problem forever and I just need to block them out. Lol what's going on with you? I'd love to hear! -
For pre-ops who have heard RNY horror stories...

I appreciate you posting this so much. I'm getting very close to my surgery date (May 2) and I am a revision. I had the lap band in 2011 and failed miserably. This thing is horrible and I can't wait to be rid of it. Now that I'm going in for a 2nd procedure, I think everyone in my life has told me why I SHOULDN'T get it, except my amazing and supportive fiancé. I'm getting to the point where I just want to scream that its not anybody's business. It's not their PTO hours being used, it's not their eating that will have to change, and its not them going through surgery. It's so awesome to hear of a success. I know it's a risky procedure, but being morbidly obese is high risk as well. Congratulations. I hope you continue to do amazingly! -
I am so excited to get rid of this band. This morning as I was trying to get my scrambled eggs down while trying not to get sick or burp my way through them (because I was sitting at a table with my coworkers), all I could think of is ONE MONTH! May 2nd is the day! Oh how I wish I would have researched more when I had my original surgery. It's ok though because this thing is coming out and being replaced with RNY. Yay! It's weird though. I'm still having doubts about whether or not I should have asked about the duodenal switch. I don't believe my surgeon performs that though. I've just been reading so much about it. Anyone else having any doubts about their chosen procedure over another?

Hey FeFe, You are awesome girl!! I have battled depression and emotional eating. It's harrrrrddddd!!!! I also know the "don't want to move my big butt' feeling when you're THAT down...What you need to remember is you are so worth it. No matter what you are going through. Life has a weird way of working itself out. Rely on those around you. It won't be a burden to tell somebody what's wrong and ask for advice or just an ear to cry in to. If that person cares, it shouldn't be too hard to just listen. If you need to just blow some steam, please feel free to message me personally. I'm a great listener and only want to see you continue on the great path you created for yourself. Continue the great work! ONE pound is better than ZERO pounds or PLUS pounds! You sound like you're getting back to where you need to be. Just remember... YOU ARE SO WORTH IT ALL! Good luck and take care! Stacie

Liquid silver spray. You can buy it pretty much anywhere that sells herbal supplements. It's amazing! You spray it in the back of your throat and it helps get rid of a cold very quickly.

Getting Banded During Jewish Holidays?
futuremrsparker replied to need2lose2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my band put in a week before Easter (I'm christian)...It wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. It felt like I had eaten a meal on the way to dinner, so I wasn't really hungry. You'll be able to eat again, get your journey started! Good luck! -

I've never been pregnant before, but I did want to say congrats, Mama!:Banane40: -
Go to your nearest ER right away. Preferably at the hospital where you had your band placed. They should be able to do a CT and A. make sure your band didn't slip and B. take your fills out. Vomiting in your sleep is very very dangerous. I worry about you choking. Please get this taken care of and let us know how you are! Good luck hun! Praying for you!

Hey bandster friends, I was banded in April 2011 and so far the ride has been rough, but new and exciting. I have a question for any of you nurses, doctors, or generally 'health knowledgeable' folks out there. For about 3 weeks now i have been having horrible pain in my lower right side. It started near my belly button and has progressed around my hip and up under my rib cage. I went to the ER 2 weeks ago worried about my appendix ( I have had low grade fevers, nausea, and constipation as well). They told me that my appendix looked fine on a CT, but my white blood cell count was high and I still had a fever. They sent me on my way anyway. I'm very concerned because all of the symptoms have just continued to get worse and I read that a lot of CTs looking for appendicitis get misread. It's to the point where I'm doubling over if I have to walk more than 1/4 mile. I will also add that my twin sister had an emergency appendectomy last Saturday and the surgeon said that they couldn't believe how bad her appendix was when they finally got into her abdomen because it was tucked and almost the whole way behind her liver. I'm just wondering if my anatomy could be the same as my identical twin and if they just rushed me out of the ER? I made an appointment with my pcp for tomorrow and had my CT scan results sent to her. I'm just wondering if I should wait or if this could be something port related. I've read that a lot of people end up with appendicitis after LB surgery. I'm scared, hurting, sick, and don't know what else to do... I almost keep trying to convince myself that it's all in my head and I am fine because they would have seen it on the CT. I truly appreciate any and all opinions. Thank you kindly for your time.

In a lot of pain ans very sick!
futuremrsparker replied to futuremrsparker's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
At risk of being "yucky" I forgot to say that today I have developed blood in my stool as well so now I am getting very scared. That's what made me finally call a new pcp. -
Hey all! I just wanted to ask if anyone out there is having as rough of a time I as am with my lap band. I was banded on April 13, 2011. I have had 2 fills with 6cc in an 11cc band total. I feel awesome restriction for about a week after the fill then it just goes away and I'm back to where I was. I am truly working hard at making my lap band tool work for me, and I am losing weight, but dieting is just as hard now as it was before surgery... I am kind of sad and regretting getting the band because it doesn't seem to be working at all for me. Everything I lose is by pure will power and refusal of failure, but I'm afraid I'll eventually get frustrated and give up. I didn't go through surgery to have zero help from it. I am more than willing to do what is necessary to work with my band. I know it's a tool I have to use properly in order to work well, but will I ever get a noticeable change in how my restriction feels? Has anyone experienced this? I feel so badly for sounding like I am complaining, but I truly am very frustrated. I know this isn't a miracle cure and will always require work on my end, but I would just like the help that I was seeking in getting surgery to begin with, If I could have done this on my own, I wouldn't have gone through the trouble of surgery. I appreciate any comments you all may leave. Thank you very much for your time.

Oh goodness. lol Thank you for bringing that to my attention. No, I am 23. Accidentally put in 1998 instead of 1988 for my birth year. I'm horrible on computers.

Pureed foods should be the consistency of pudding or applesauce (depending on what you're trying to puree)... A few of my faves were tuna (chopped a bit in the food processor) with some onion powder, garlic powder, and low calorie miracle whip (about a tablespoon for every 3 oz of tuna), canned chicken chopped up a bit with one weight watchers cream cheese serving and a bit of hot sauce... some low calorie buffalo chicken dip, lol or a pureed sweet potato with some cinnamon, a packet of sweet'n'low (or whatever artificial sweetener you like), and a tiny amount of low calorie spread such as "I Can't believe It's Not Butter"... You can puree any soup you like as well. I ate a lot of french onion soup with unflavored protein powder. Good luck!!!

Oh gosh! I literally have been going through the same thing! UGH! I'm not quite sure if it's good or bad yet... hahaha
