How's everything going with your approval and surgery date?? I'm in process now of getting conversion from band to sleeve...had my edoscope Dec 2 and psych val Dec 11 doctors office will send me info to my insurance tomorrow...wish me luck!

Sleeve for sure! Trust me you will more than likely be miserable! Yes there are success stories about lap band but more disasters than success! I had my band placed in July 2011 and I am going to start my process tomorrow with my doctor for the sleeve! For 3 years the most I've lost was 60 pounds and that was only because I got stuck on everything I ate and would throw it back up and everything I ate that day after I threw up once would get stuck because your stomach would swell making your band tighter! I at one time considered myself as balemic because I would eat then throw up! I have been miserable with my band and no not everyone is and some people I have noticed are very defensive on this site when someone "bashes" the band but it is what it is we are here to share our experiences and if the bad out weigh the good then that's what it is! You can't get upset with someone that Is telling their story! Anyways if I could go back then I would have never got the band I would get the sleeve! I can't even Sit down at dinner or lunch with my family without my food getting stuck and having to run to the bathroom or the sounds my throat makes when something won't go down! My 3 year old would ask me mommy you have to throw up now I'm just tired of the everyday struggle! Good luck in the decision that you make!

I know this is an old thread but I was checking in on you to see how you are doing??

I plan on having my first fluoro fill this Friday! What I am wondering is if anyone who has been struggling to get into their "sweet spot" "green zone" and then had the Fluoro fill done finally get there? I have had my share of fills and unfills I haven't truly been into the green zone. I am hoping this really helps me! Thanks in advance!

It's better to go slow!!! Take it from me! I got a fill once and pay $35 copayment and was sooo tight that night I couldn't swallow spit so next morning I was in there paying $35 more dollars to get some takin out! Hang in there it will get better!

It has almost been 2 years in July and I have got fill after fill and a few unfills! I lost 60lbs and after this last unfill due to being so tight I couldn't even swallow my spit I have gained back 20 of those 60 pounds back I am going for a fill today after not having hardly any fill since February only because the last fill I had that was so tight has freaked me out about getting to tight again and not to mention my husband is so against me getting fills now after all that! I'm just scared I will never be in the green zone. I only need to lose 30 pounds to be at goal. I'm praying this fill today will be it! I guess what I'm getting at is if I get only .2 .3 fill will it make a difference????

I was in your boat 5 months ago! And I did drink a full glass before I left the doctors office and everything went down fine! It wasn't until later that night it closed up so tight I couldn't get my spit down! I ALSO went to my local emergency room and they refused to help me! There was not a bariatric doctor there so they sent me home! So I had to wait until that morning to rush to the doc office when they opened! Only thing I did was just keep spitting your spit out dont swallow it! Sorry to hear you're in agony because I know too well that feeling and its scary!!!! It scared me from getting another fill for 5 months :/ I just got a real small fill Monday and not feeling it at all. My doc has set me up for a fill under fluoro next Friday because I have had so many problems trying to find my sweet spot!!! Best of luck to you!

Yes call your doc because if you are throwing up bile then you are def aggravating your band and throat and it will not calm down until you get a unfill it will stay swollen and irritated!

Such awesome advice everyone! Thank you!!! I got my fill today I went from 5.8 to 6.5 and i feel fine now tightness but I'm sure I will be able to tell in Few days!!! I just need a little restriction back and I can do the rest! I will let everyone know how it goes!!! Oh and my doc advised me that he thinks it would be a good idea to do my next fill under Fluor! So if this fill don't work out then I will be making my appointment for that!!!

I just feel like if I don't have a good fill and have to obsess over every single bite of food I put in my mouth then I shouldn't even have the Lapband that I could do that without surgery! Right now I feel like I don't even have Lapband at all! Tired of fighting this battle I just wish It was a little easier then it has been on me! I thought i was going to get a tiny break when I got this done because obsessing over everything I eat and thinking about it 24 hours day is so stressful and takes over my life!

I have been told that before! I think I will be one of those that they only way I will get close to green zone is doing it that way! 7.5 is too much and 6.8 was not enough so I think I was real close but after the 7.5 and my stomach almost closing up they took out fluid and now I'm 5.5!

I can't hardly get anything down at all! I just puked up tomato soup! But yesterday a day after my fill I ate chicken broth some coffee and hot fries and it went down pretty good! I went from having 6.8cc to 7.5 in my 10cc band. Will this pass and I should give it a week or so or am I just too tight?!!

Oh and not to mention it did go from 70 degrees yesterday to 40 degrees today maybe that is effecting it??

Yeah but the only thing is I would have to drive 3 hours to see him and I don't want to be over reacting too soon only for it to get better in a few days just wondering if this has happened to someone else and it got better! I don't feel hungry at all just trying to get some protein and calories in and it's a challenge today!

Little unfill for sure!!!! If you can't even get liquids down in the a.m you are too tight and trust me that is no way to live because I lived with slimming for months because I was so scared to get some taken out because I didn't want to gain weight but when I finally did I was sooooooo relieved! It was the best thing I ever did!

My doctor that gave me my unfill yesterday had a hard time getting into my port she even used a sonogram thing to find it and it was right under the skin but when she went to stick me she couldnt find it she said my port was very loose like mobile..is that normal

I can't drink or eat anything at all in the morning except for coffee...overtime I eat I slime really bad or my throat "talks" makes gurgling noise for awhile which is very embarrassing!! I have an appt for an unfill for aug 27 what do you guys think??
