YEAH! So happy for you! -
I didn't feel restriction until my 3rd fill, 6 cc's in a 10 cc band. Good luck and hang in there.

@ Pink dahlia - I'm glad to see that I'm right on track with a fellow December banster! Can't wait to hear when you hit 50. To everyone who replied to my post, thanks and I really could not have done this without the support of everyone here on this site. It's a real comfort to be able to have all of you to go through this with. Thanks so much!

agerpay1 - I was never told about the connection. I am not sorry I had th the surgery and even if I knew about the increased risk, I would have still had surgery. Until these "attacks" started I have been very pleased. Good luck to you with your surgery.

Sojour - not sure what the cause it, my guess is my gall bladder since i rarely (less than twice a year) drink, and am on no medications. I'm really hoping it's gall bladder since that's less scary than pancreas problems, although my pcp did say there was a colloration between the two (pancreas/lap band) that I did not know about. Good luck to you also! mis73 - I think he's trying to rule out everything. The low fat is to rule out the gallbladder from I got if the symptoms stop with low fat diet than gall bladder, but he also gave me a ten day supply of nexum and I had to buy lactose pills to eat before each meal as I had said most times when I experienced the pain I had eaten a yogart or drank 1% milk with carnation mix. I have to try this until next week, but I have a lab slip so if I experience pain I am to go immediately to the hospital and have blood drawn. I am also going to have a ultra sound and cat scan ordered. My head was spinning so fast. What makes me upset is that I mentioned my symptoms to my lap band surgeon on two occasions and the first time he thought it had to do with the salad I ate, because it happened after eating that and the 2nd time I told him it happened after eating a greek yogart. I was told just to keep track of it and to let him know. I didn't call him because I just didn't feel like he took me serious. I don't know if he thinks I'm a complainer, but I'm not. That's why I went to my pcp who has been my doctor for 18 years. I feel better that i was listened to and something is being done. I'm the type of person who goes to the doctor once a year for yearly, I'm not a frequent flyer, so it bothered me that my surgeon did not take me serious. - Okay now I'm done venting

i went thinking it was my gall bladder but now I have lab paperwork for pancreatic disease, although i've just read that sometimes gallstones can contribute....low fat diet and meds and we will see. He said they will most like do an ultrasound and cat scan but I have to try the low fat diet and meds through next week.

I'm actually having the same issue. The pain comes after eating and has happened 4 times in the last 2 weeks. I went to the dr (pcp) today and have to go to the er immediately and have blood drawn to rule out pancreatic disease, which apparently is common after this type of surgery, didn't know that. Anyway....I have also been given nexium and have to take lataid pills before I eat and am on a low fat diet right now to prevent further "attacks". GO TO YOUR DOCTOR.

When a band slips, does it bother you all the time or just after certain foods that are eaten? I have an appointment with my primary care doctor tomorrow. I'm not sure, but I may be having problems with my gall bladder. I am getting horrible pains, four times in the last two weeks. There is no rhyme or reason. One time after eating a yogart, one time after eating a salad, one time after drinking carnation sugar free drink with 1% milk. I've mentioned it to my surgeon, but he thought maybe didn't chew well enough after the salad but then shortly after that I had the issue with yogart and now the carnation drink. The pain is in the middle of my torso and radiates straight through to the middle of my back, usually starting about an hour after I eat/drink, and lasts about an hour, although yesterday after the pain went away I felt like I was going to throw up for hours, then gone. Most of the time I have the pain and it's gone almost instantly after about an hour. Anyway... I opted to see my pcp to see what he says. The nurse in the office thinks it sounds like gall bladder. I just felt that I wasn't getting anywhere with my lap band doctor, like it was me and not chewing. This is the other weird thing, yesterday the carnation milk bothered me, today no. Sometimes i can eat yogart, other times it bothers me. Maybe it's the milk???? I don't know. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I was told no drinking an hour before and an hour after. I'm very good about sticking to this because I do not want to push food through and be able to eat more.

How Are You All Doing Now?? Updates?
ccsbulldog replied to kr8160311's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was also banded 12/30/11 and as of today I'm down 48 pounds. I've had three fills. I have 7 cc's in a 10 cc band, and now have restriction. -
I also do not like looking at pictures of myself. As a result I have very few pictures of me with my family. I'm always the one to take the pictures. Hopefully as I get closer to my goal weight that will change.

I ate things like eggs, tuna with light mayo, canned chicken with light mayo, lots of yogart.

What Does Restriction Feel Like???
ccsbulldog replied to ClaudiaG's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think I finally have restriction. I have 7 cc's in a 10 cc band. Today for example I ate a turkey burger w/o the bun and was FULL!!!! Before my last fill I could have easily eaten more. I was eating more than 2 cups and between my last fill, 5 weeks I had lost 3.5 pounds and that was watching what I ate, and walking 3 miles a day. I've also lost 2 pounds since my last fill, (1 week). Glad to see the scale moving again. Good luck to everyone!!!! -
I Was Banded On____Since Then I Have Lost____!
ccsbulldog replied to JulieC74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 12/30/11 and have lost 45 pounds so far. -
Not to argue but the average person weighing 250 pounds burns approximately 150 calories per mile. 150 x 6 miles is only 900 calories, a far cry from Three Thousand to Three Thousand Six Hundred calories. Maybe some of the problem is that he thinks he's burning more than he really is. I realize that people burn more or less depending on age, height, etc, but your talking a difference of 2,700 calories???

Down 51 lbs., took new photo...disappointed!
ccsbulldog replied to Cheryl Ann's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've lost 45 and have had only about 4 people say something and to come to think about it, they know I had the surgery. It's frustrating to think no one has noticed.....I can't wait for people to notice. -
@ Junior, if you only walk 4-6 miles a day, how are you burning between 3,000 and 3,600 calories a day? I walk 3 and burn no where near that....

What Does Restriction Feel Like???
ccsbulldog replied to ClaudiaG's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can totally relate to this topic. I have 7 cc's in a 10 cc band. Today I eat soft foods, filled yesterday. Before my fill yesterday I could eat about 2 cups but would stop myself because I know I shouldn't be able to eat that much. I'm hoping this fill works, but I already know that I do not have to sip my drinks, I hope that isn't a bad sign. -
Well I went today for 3rd fill today. It's been five weeks since my last fill and have only lost 3.5 pounds in that 5 weeks, 44 total since 12/30/11. I now believe I have 7 cc's in my 10 cc bandr 4 at time of surgery and 1 for each of the fills. I hope this fill makes a difference. I really didn't see any difference with my last fill.

When I was pre-op (Dec 2011) and at 256 wearing a tight 22 bottom, 2x top - I'm 5'2" Today, I weigh 212 and wear an 18 but still in a 2x top - because of my middle section, completely too big in the shoulder area. It's very interesting that someone my same weight and wear such a smaller size. I guess height does play into it.

I can't wait to lose my girls...42f's are no fun. I've lost 45 to date but the girls do not seem to have lost anything.
