    Dec 10th Check In

Hi guys. Just found this thread (where have I been all these months???) I had my best loss ths week in a very long time - 2lbs. Yay for me
  3. You look absolutely adorable. (and skinny )
  4. Your last picture tells the story. Fantastic!!!
  5. On two separate occasions, I lost over 100 lbs doing Medifast. The problem was I couldn't keep it off. And during my 9 week pre op diet, I lost 33 lbs doing Medifast. SO - fast forward to one month post sleeve - I lost 9 lbs the first week after surgery. The following 3 weeks I lost 3 more but then GAINED 2 back. I have no idea why, I'm eating approx 80 grams Protein, 5-600 calories and 20 grams of carbs. I know Medifast works, I'm so frustrated I'm thinking about doing it post sleeve. Anyone else do this?

    B12 question

Fluffy - I'm 3 months post op. The only instructions I received from my Nut was to a vitamin recommendation. I take 2 chewables daily.

    B12 question

My surgeon never mentioned the need for B-12 or Calcium supplements. Should I be worried?
  8. putasleeveonit - thanks for your reply. I was hoping to have more responses, I guess no one is doing medifast post sleeve. I think I'm going to try it and see how it goes. Can't hurt, I'm not losing doing what I'm doing.

    I guess I'm at a stall

Heather, girl, your 6 pounds just gave me hope! I was at the dr yesterday and according to his scale, I have only lost 1 lb in the last three weeks. WTF??? Oh well, off to drink some Water...maybe that will help

    I guess I'm at a stall

I'm having some of the same issues. Pre op, I lost 32lbs I was sleeved on 8/25, the first week lost 9lbs. But my loss has slowed to a crawl, only losing 3 lbs in the last 3 weeks. I know it's not truly a stall as I am losing but based on the calories in, it's frustrating to see my loses slow to a crawl. It's hard to wrap my head around how I could lose more weight on a consistent basis prior to my sleeve. In the end, the weight will have to come off, right ?
  11. I'm going to have to order some of the soups now that it looks like summer is officially over The hot chocolate is my absolute favorite, tastes great, portable and Protein - what more could a girl ask for!
  12. I'm three weeks out and have been using lots of this brand as it's an easy way to get my Protein in. My staples are the hot chocolate and oatmeal but I'm supplementing with either Inspire protein supplements or Synthrax nectar drinks. I'm not eating much "real" food (pureed) as it's so much easier to use the pre packaged (easy to eat, high protein) Curious whether anyone else is taking this approach. Over the last week, I've been able to get my calories up to 400-500 with protein averaging between 75-85 and carbs no higher than 25.. My weight loss is a little concerning, my first week I lost 9 lbs but the next two only resulted in a 3 pound loss. Comments or thoughts welcome
  13. I second this recommendation. My favorite nectar Protein drink is Vanilla Bean Torte followed closely by Cappuccino. I also like a few of the Inspire protein powders - Caramel latte is great. Pantry Selections makes some great hot chocolate flavors that have about 15 grams of protein, low carbs and fat. There are def some great tasting protein powders available, it might take you some trial and error before finding one(s) you love.
  14. brittu - Thank you! I love the convenience and taste of the pre packaged foods, perfect for travel which I do for my job weekly. Our starting and goal weights are almost identical(231/140) so your results are encouraging I'm a little frustrated because I was losing more consistently with more calories during my 9 week Medifast/lean and green preop diet than I have the last three weeks post sleeve) Plastic surgery - ahh, the next phase. Good luck (can't wait until I'm there...)
  15. Sunny, I hear you girl. I am feeling the same frustrations. I'm 3 weeks out and lost 13 lbs. BUT, 9 of those lbs were in the first week. It's maddening how slowly the weight is coming off when compared to the number of calories I'm eating daily. Yesterday, I got on the scale and had GAINED 1.6 lbs. ??? Come on body, this is insanity! Like emmas mom, I did Medifast for 9 weeks preop. And lost 32.9 lbs in those 9 weeks. And had a much more consistent loss. HOWEVER - I lost over 100 lbs on medifast once before and couldn't keep it off, I'm convinced the sleeve will be the tool to allow me to keep the weight off. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude but it's hard...I decided to stay off the scale for a bit. I have 47 more lbs to go until I reach my goal. It will happen for both of us. We just need to stop obsessing... (easier said than done, right?)
  16. I was sleeved on 8/25 so today I'm 15 days out. Most days all I can manage to get in are two Protein shakes and two teaspoons of either cottage cheese or ricotta. I tried refried Beans a few days ago and it was not good. I'm definately struggling to get my calories up. My weight loss has not been good either, My first week (during the clear liquid week) was 11 lbs but in the last week I have only lost 1 lb. I'm hoping it's my body's way of playing catch up as I'm only averaging 250 calories daily.
  17. Dr Terrence Clarke at Ellis Bariatric. Can't say enough about him and the entire program. They are a Center of Excellence as well.
  18. I agree, each surgeon follows a different protocol. I didn't have a cather or a drain. And I spent one night in the hospital. The down side of not having the cath was that I was in the bathroom literally every hour all night long (but as long as I was up out of bed, I walked one lap around the floor.
