    Maintaining

Add 100 calories a day, a week at a time, until your weight stabilizes. that worked for me

    help I'm up 13 pounds

At three years out I was up what I considered a significant amount. I had to go back to basics - Protein first, going low carb and tracking calories. I very rarely feel any restriction at this point.
  3. as others have suggested, talk with your surgeon

    So sad about Hair Loss

I have found the only thing that helped my hair loss was to take Journey vitamins. They are seriously a lifesaver for your hair. I tried everything and only these Vitamins stopped and then reversed the loss.

  7. holy crap. you are doing amazing!
  8. I'm 18 months out and feel the same way. I reached goal in April and maintained within a 2lb up or down range for 8 months. But something happened in December. It seemed like I could eat anything and everything with no restriction. And what I thought was real hunger. Woke up on Jan 1 with the scale up 11.4 lbs. Got back to basics and in 4 days lost 8 of the 11.4 (assume most of it was Water weight) The lesson learned reinforces that this is a lifelong journey and I have to be dilligent with what I put into my mouth every day for the rest of my life... Actually it's a small sacrifice for my health (and looking amazing!)

    By The Way....

I was just talking to my hubby about this. Most of the time i dont feel any restriction (but i feel hunger) and its a struggle to keep myself from continuing to eat. But every once in a while i eat something and i feel instantly restricted. Very oddwith no pattern i can identify I will say that i have been at goal weight for almost 6 months now which is the longest in recent memory. Typically i would reach goal and almost immediately begin to regain

Just Make Me Feel Better ;)

Good grief girl...after 14 hours of work, you need to relax Seriously though - If you cut back on the working out, you will see a difference. I know, been there, done that!

    Crying

Oh honey, take a deep breath...you are going thru normal anxiety and everything will be ok. You took a huge step deciding to sleeve. When your doubt creeps in, remember that unless you take care of yourself and your health, you can't truly take care of your family. Those who depend on you need you at 100% for the long term. And being overweight and unhealthy is not in their best interest either. Try to focus on the positive, not the "what if's) (which is easier said than done) Sleeving is the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family. Hope this helps you a tiny bit also wanted to add - there are so many success stories posted on this board. When the fear and anxiety sets in, read or re read them. So many amazing life changing examples of how good your life after sleeving can be!

Just Make Me Feel Better ;)

You are doing amazing well girl! My advise is going to be counter intuitive but my recomendation is to cut back on your exercise. Your body is adjusting to the stress it just went thru and with your lower calories and high exercise, it's adding more stress. I would cut the treadmill back to 3 days a week for a few weeks and see what happens. My bet is you start to see a loss on the scale again!
  14. All I can say is What a difference a year makes! My surgery was Aug 25 so I'm still a few days short of my actual anniversary. But I had my one year dr visit on Thursday. My BP was 106/65!!! Amazing... I reached goal in April and have been maintaining (actually less than my goal of 140) for over 4 months. I have given myself a range with 135 being goal and allowing my weight to vary between 133 - 137 which is two pounds in either direction. Some days it's a real struggle to make good choices and some days I feel like I could eat everything in sight. I do miss the physical restrictions I felt the first few months post surgery. But I'm doing it...and will continue to do it going forward. Happy Anniversary o all of my fellow August sleevers!
  15. I was given a 30 day script post surgery. I never had issues with acid/GERD pre surgery so getting off of it post surgery was no problem for me. What's interesting to me is that at 11 months post op, I started feeling intense hunger. After reading this board, I figured out it was stomach acid I was feeling, not true hunger. My surgeon gave me a script for Omexprozal and my intense hunger is gone. I don't take it every day, just when I feel I need it.
  16. Holy crap, that's amazing progress in 6 months! Well done

Im So Scared To Do This!

Hun, take a deep breath and focus I am 10 months post op, now under my goal and have been maintaining for over 2 months now. In the past I have lost over 100 lbs twice. And both times I started to regain almost immediately. The sleeve is a great tool BUT you need to keep your head in the game. Listen to what your surgeon tells you. Be educated. Know what you can do. Listen to your body. You can and will do this!!! Best of luck
  18. Today is 2 months since i reached goal, i have actually lost 5 additional pounds since april 14. I'm at the low end of my range but feeling great. I have reached goal so many other times prior to being sleeved. But immediately began regaining the weight. To be 2 months past goal and not begun to gain is truly a miracle. I love my sleeve! Congrats to all you big losers!
  19. Libbe - Well done! I can totally relate to the loose skin issues. I have it hanging EVERYWHERE! Not a great look for bathing suit seasoh (or sleeveless dresses/tops for that matter) but oh well...it's better than the alternative - Been there, done that... I'm comfortably under my goal weight of 140 and would like 136 to be the bottom of the range I've given myself. (with 139 being the top number) The hardest part for me now is finding the optimum calories per day to maintain. BTW - I think a monthly thread is a great idea. Happy Mothers day to all

    April 21St Check In

I love this thread. Everyone is doing great! I was down .6 this morning as I continue to lose despite reaching goal. I have given myself a range between 137 and 139.9 as a maintenance goal, I prefer to never see the 140's again.

    Stupid Stall

Pagie, I feel your pain! Especially when you're so close to the 100lb mark... Have you tried shaking things up? If you're doing low carb, try increasing them. Low calorie? Add more. Sometimes our bodies get too comfortable with routine and changing your eating routine or workout routine is enough to kick it into high gear and show a scale loss. I have also found that the more I obsess over reaching a weight goal, the more stubborn my body. Stress, whether conscious of unconscious, can make it harder to drop the weight. Case in point - I reach my goal last week. And this week, the week after I reached goal, I lost 1.6 lbs. One of the largest weekly losses in a while. I think because I wasn't stressing or obsessing about losing any weight this week! You are doing great so try not to be discouraged. It's impossible not to continue to lose if you're doing everything right
  22. Thanks. I'm only taking the Bariatric fusion Vitamins. No need for any other supplements according to my surgeon and my labs (from August thru March when last done) are all within normal range. The price is right for me
