Jillian (Biggest Loser) comment.
sleeveorbust replied to Was a humpty dumpty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I enjoy watching Biggest Loser and Jillian is a hard ass which in some cases is life changing for the people she trains. HOWEVER BL is based on sensationalism... it is what TV is all about .. SO, it comes to no surprise to me that their method of rehabilitation is the "old fashioned way" although no body in a million years exercised a minimum of 8 hrs a day! I believe that everyone can use a little exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle but MOST people who are obese NEED another solution to help get them to that point where they CAN incorporate that into their lives. Her overlying message is a good one but misguided in my opinion .. I know that my obesity problem was more complex then just calories in calories out because my incessant exercising did absolutely nothing when push came to shove... NOW... its a totally different story I absolutely love my sleeve and would never be able to say that i have lost 38lbs in only 9 weeks! -

these are totally normal fears... i was so afraid of going under and everything surrounding the surgery.. but I toughed it out and made the decision to take that necessary risk to improving MY life!

i do have about one small coffee a day... im not worried abut my intake because I know that drinking coffee regularly actually helps to reduce the chances of producing gall stones... and its actually the caffeine in the coffee as well as the beans that help to avoid them.... I have never had any acid reflux from drinking coffee or any foods for that matter... Im counting myself pretty lucky

i would say that overall this article has some clout... I know for me I have always wanted to be at the goal that i have set out for myself.. sure I see some ULTRA skinny people around town and think.. hmm.. maybe i will look like that.. but overall i just want to get to 125lbs with a BMI of 22!! ... with that said, I know that what I truly want is to be FIT and able to complete rigorous physical activity with a breeze! Im 2months out today and im only 8lbs away from my halfway point!!!! -

I have not been able to say that for a very long time... I'm 8lbs away from being halfway to goal.. So I suppose if it took me another month to lose those 8lbs I'd be on the way to goal in a total of 6 months... We can all find positives in little things! change of atittude..... YAY 36lbs!!!! -

the drain is there as a safety precaution to ensure there is no internal bleeding in your stomach cavity... Normally after the doctor does ur leak test it is taken out ... Some people are not bothered by it being there.. But it was sort of uncomfortable for me.. I hated carting it around and for me it was the worst part of my experience when they took it out... But alot of people don't even notice it being taken out.. So it just depends hope this helps!!
