I Can Eat Everything 7 Days Post Lap Band Surgery, Is This Normal?
cheryl2586 replied to CaroZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cant believe either that you are consuming regular food and sweets of all things. Why have the surgery if you were going to eat whatever you wanted at only a week post op. Have some constraint before you do some serious damage to your surgery. Your stomach is still healing and you should not be eating whole food yet. SMDH -

Not Losing.....4 Weeks Post Lap Band Surgery
cheryl2586 replied to mlachata's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone hits a plateu and sometimes it will be longer than two weeks. You have to know that this will happen and just keep doing what your doing. The best advice is only weigh yourself once a week and yes I know that is hard but dont get on the scale everyday its a bummer -
He was cheating well before you ever had surgery you can believe that. He didnt just do when you had surgery he's been doing it all along and the best thing you can do for yourself is get away from him and do better for your self. You deserve it.

Drinking And Eating
cheryl2586 replied to JazzKat53's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why are you waiting two hours after eating its only supposed to be 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after that might help you very much. -
If you continue to wretch your band will slip and it will have to be removed consider that you will still need it removed if you continue down that path. Get some help and I hope you succeed in this. You conquered obesity you can conquer this too.

Dilated Esophagus- The Dangers Of Not Following Your Dr's Plan
cheryl2586 replied to pen527's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im sorry to hear that hope all gets better. Thats exactly why I dont understand people when they say my doctor said not to drink soda but can I. He said to not drink alcohol can I? He said not to do this or that can I? If he said not to do it then dont test your band. Its for a reason people. No one realizes also when you over eat you are forcing the band into the wall of the stomach which equals erosion. If he tells you drink decaf then do it. I dont miss coffee, alcohol, or soda. You have to learn its not about what you want but what is best for you. We all need to take a lesson from this and do what the doctor says to do and not ask everyone if its okay to do this or that when your doctor told you not tooooooooooooooo -
I would have eaten the salad with dressing on the side and also may I ask why are you staying under 800 calories? Maybe if you add 200 of some good protein like chicken you would start losing. Chicken is very low in calories and you would at least be satisfied. When I have hunger issues I will eat half a chicken which is only about 200 calories for six ounces of chicken and it will make you full. Hardly no fat and I buy the tyson already cooked strips in the bag you can find it in the meat section and its not frozen I also buy the steak too which is very tender and you can eat it. I think your selling yourself short about 200 calories a day and yes you have to start walking the weight loss will come I assure you and good job on retraint it was worth it and now you know you can do it

Switched Insurance Companies, Will New Company Pay For Lap Band Fills?
cheryl2586 replied to rp555888's topic in Insurance & Financing
I switched insurance companies after I got married because I was no longer working in the same place and had to relocate his insurance will not cover anything that has to do with bariatric surgery so I have to pay for my fills and of course finding another doctor was also a hassle but I have to pay a 200.00 program fee for what I dont know because I am only going there for fills but whatever and 100.00 for a fill so on January 4th 300.00 for probably a whole half cc because my stomach is too sensitive and cant take anymore than that at one time. Its ashame but most insurance companies if you switch and have to have adjustments they consider it pre existing and will not cover it. -
12 Days Post Lap Band Surgery And Feeling No Restriction
cheryl2586 replied to Gizmo29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just because you can eat as much as you did presurgery why are you? Your not going to have restriction yet and this time is up to you to not over eat. Measure your food and are you even supposed to be eating real food at 12 days post op? But anyway if your chosing to eat regular food measure it and be done. Your going to be hungry thats the way it is you have to deal with it for a while. -

My Birthday, & I Want Alcohol. Had Lap Band Surgery 11/21/11
cheryl2586 replied to DLEMA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
okay I had to come back to this thread. You havent even been banded a month yet are you even eating solid food yet? Is drinking for your birthday that important? Why didnt you wait to have surgery after you got banded? I dont think drinking this soon after surgery would be a good reccomendation maybe in six months but not at three weeks post op -

My Birthday, & I Want Alcohol. Had Lap Band Surgery 11/21/11
cheryl2586 replied to DLEMA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well let me just tell you my experience I was banded two years ago on the 14th of december and decided new years eve I would have a drink. My stomach hurt like hell for that feat so soon after surgery. If you want to try it then do it but if you have an ill effect from it then dont complain. I would say just because your birthday comes once a year what is more important? Sticking to your diet since it is so early in the game or having a drink and thinking oh well it didnt hurt I will keep drinking and then you are drinking empty calories its not worth it. I dont drink and dont miss it for sure they are calories I could have something else with but the ultimate decision is yours -
One Month Post Lap Band Surgery
cheryl2586 replied to Determined and Ready's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was down 42lbs with no pre op diet and just starting on regular food. My first six months I lost weight really fast but then it went to a snail pace for sure -
I just look at it not worth the calories. I ate a piece of chocolate yesterday and said wth it was not good at all. So to me even though its tempting as all get out I wont partake of it and be those other 11 people saying at the beginning of the year I have 20lbs to lose from Christmas. I will not!

You have to understand the scale is not going to move every day and sometimes not for a few weeks its just the way it is just keep doing what your doing and it will move. You have to remember when your excersising your building muscle too have you thought about measuring yourself to see if your losing inches? All in all the scale is just not going to move every single day that is unrealistic. Your weight wasnt that high to begin with so it will take that much longer. Yes its frustrating but your body has to get adjusted to the food intake and say ok this is all Im getting time to start burning fat. You cant give up just because your not losing. It will come eventually. If everyone lost a pound a day then the whole world would be banded. It will happen

So This Is Bandster Hell...
cheryl2586 replied to angbutler0712's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But are you really physically hungry or head hungry. Sometimes when I think I am hungry Im not and I drink water and it goes away. If your eating proteins such as tuna, cottage cheese, eggs you shouldnt be hungry an hours later. I would say stop counting calories right now and just eat normal portions measure out a cup of food and eat it and be done. I dont remember once I started eating tuna that I was hungry every hour. Some of that has to be head hunger because by now your stomach has gotten adjusted to less food and you shouldnt be so hungry. I would reassess the hunger part but definitely increase your calories to at least 800 -
Other Meats Like Ham Or Pork After Lap Band Surgery ?
cheryl2586 replied to Regnu's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat ham, port, fish, steak, turkey oh heck I eat all meat but I buy good cuts of meat and cook them tender. You dont have to stick to chicken. If I really want something that will give me trouble I have my husband put it in the smoker comes out so tender anyone could eat it. -
