Scars will fade over time but getting rid of them I think is probably impossible. You can use some scar fade cream but I dont think they will go away completely.

Banded October 26-12 What Can I Eat!
cheryl2586 replied to keda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont think anyone is being rude but really some things that are asked should have been covered by your doctor, nutritionist. I have said it a million times and been told off a million times but your doctors are getting paid to be at your service 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When I came home from the hospital I knew what I could eat for the first 12 weeks after surgery. Your surgeons office should have provided you with a list of acceptable foods and at what stage you could have them. If they didn't then you need to call them and ask them. We all had different directions and ours might not be what your doctor wants you to have. Although it may seem simple to ask us but I agree with Jean we are not certified nutritionist to provide you with that answer then if something happens you will blame us that we told you to eat it. Not being rude but being honest and truthful -
Tummy Tuck hands down. You can always stuff your boobs in a good bra and call it a day

Scared But Needing To Research This Procedure.
cheryl2586 replied to Texas201233's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree this is a great place to start. We get snippy sometimes but sometimes you need a good ole kick in the roo lol. Welcome you will do fine with it. I was almost 300lbs, had bad knees, bad stomach, high blood pressure, and felt like crap most of my adult life. The band gave me back all the years I so much missed. Now I am happy. -
I have to get it out. I try to burp but know by that time its coming up lol. I know what foods to avoid because I dont do sliming twice on one food lol. I have also learned that eating fast is not a good idea hence I eat slower now.

Not Losing But It's Ok
cheryl2586 replied to takuwinds's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Feeling full is not the key. Feeling satisfied is there is a difference. If you are hungry between meals then eat something like sugar free pudding. Your hunger going completely away is a misconception. You may see a reduction in your hunger but it is the bodies natural response to needing food. A cup of food and that is it. Your body will adjust and start dropping weight. At this stage MFP gives too many calories to lap band patients. I wouldnt be concerned when it says you are not eating enough. I stay under 1000 calories every day. It works I promise -
Day 2 Post Op And Need Help!
cheryl2586 replied to mommyvega3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
at two days post op I would not be eating anything that can fall off a spoon. If your doctor said stay on liquids yogurt or other consistancys do not fall in that catagory. Stay on what your doctor said. -
Boil some eggs the night before. It doesnt take long. I eat boild eggs, lunchmeat, greek yogurt, your hungry because cereal is too much carbs in the morning. You need protein. Eat some weight control oatmeal by quaker it has 7 grams of protein and takes less then a minute in the microwave. You can always make stuff the night before for breakfast.

Pre-Op Jitters/negative People

Listen sometimes you can not listen to family and friends when it comes to making you happy and healthy. I wouldnt say you will be a completely new you in six months because well that is just unreasonable to think that but you will definitely be a better you. Depending on how much you have to lose. I would say in six months you can be down 60lbs or 70 if you follow the right plan your doctor puts in place for you. Its not their choice its yours and if you have health issues would they rather see you in a not so good place. Have the surgery, follow the rules then you wont be at risk for slippage or erosion. -
It will come. Patience. You can't lose years of weight over night. Your body is getting used to the new everything. In time with the food reduction your body has no choice but to drop the weight.

Well I aint gonna lie I rode my bike a whole one minute today lol. I hate it and it hates me. My joints hurt for weeks after exercising but I do work in a hospital so I am constantly walking about 5 miles a day lol or more depending on the patients we get. I do part a long distance from stores and do what I can do but arthritis is not my friend on any occassion.

Myfitnesspal Calorie And Carb Suggesstions, Huh?
cheryl2586 replied to meyouus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
On spark people you can customize your protein, carbs and fat intake to what you want. I only do about 70 grams of carbs if that. But that is my preference. I think spark people has some really awesome recipes on it too. -
Today I was thinking about all the things I am thanful for since Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I am thankful for finding a wonderful husband that I can share the rest of my life with, thankful for my children and grandchildren, thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in other peoples lives and thankful for not going to over indulge again for the third year as the holidays approach. I have learned that holidays are about having a good time, not stuffing my face and that family means more to me then food. I have learned that I can and will be accountable for everything that I do regarding my weight loss and that includes eating things I shouldnt. Don't let the holidays sabotage you this year. Think about all your are thankful for and make that your priority.

The song from Rudolph comes to mind. The little elf singing "Put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking out the door" lol I love Herbie the elf and appropriate for this time of year.

Myfitnesspal Calorie And Carb Suggesstions, Huh?
cheryl2586 replied to meyouus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do not go by what it says carb wise because it says I should be eating only 45 grams of protein and 165 grams of carbs. I always surpass the protein and I stay under 1,000 calories. I think you should just log your food and try to stay under 1200 then you will start losing. That program was made really for people who work out constantly. I like spark people better. It doesnt give you calories back if you exercise. I use MFP but I do not go by the carbs they say I should eat even if it is good carbs. The whole point of the band in the beginning in my opinion is really to get in the protein and not worry so much about the carbs. I eat very little carbs in a day. I will until I get to goal. Sometimes I do eat carbs but not often as I should probably but that is just me. As you lose weight it will also up your carb intake and decrease your protein intake which is not right for us.
