Numbness After Thigh Lift?
cheryl2586 replied to Karen12345's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Numbness after any surgery is normal. They cut nerves and they will regenerate. I wouldnt worry unless it never goes away. -
I would say dont smoke from now til surgery. I didnt smoke for a whole week before because I was scared about being put under and smoking. I quit two and half years ago after I was six months post op. I would not smoke before surgery
-
Stay home as in work or just going out? Going out can be immediate if you can tolerate it. I drove at two days post op and was allowed to.
-
You look fabulous
-
Then something is wrong. I bet it has slipped. I would go back and tell them that something is definitely wrong.

5 Days Post Op With High Restriction
cheryl2586 replied to Sap's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sure you are still very swollen and with added fluid that doesnt help. Call your doctor and tell them you are having trouble getting in fluids. If your getting that full then cut the amount in half that you are eating. It will get better but check with the doctor anyway. -
Can Lap Band Patients Take Alka-Seltzer?
cheryl2586 replied to lmgarza's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I use pepto in times like that. -
I would go back and have them check it out again. Its not normal to vomit. Is it constant or sometimes. After certain foods or on all foods.

Surgeons Expectations Exceeded But Not Mine
cheryl2586 replied to Katja's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Have you thought about calling others. I would. I dont know what their theory would be unless they still consider 30 more of a risk when going to sleep. I am sure there is some surgeon out there that would be willing to do it for you. My doctor is happy with me at 175 and told me only to go to 170 I dont know if I want that number but she said that I can live with that and maintain it. Im almost 50 so I dont care to be a tooth pick. I wish you luck on finding a surgeon. It's really up to you on how much more weight you want to lose but if that is what they are asking then maybe try. Its not impossible to lose 40 more. You can do it. -
Apple juice, gatorade, jello to name a few.

Yeah it really irritated me too but I think it helped me as well. It does hurt but that nerve goes all the way from the stomach up over the left shoulder and to the brain. Once you get a couple fills it might stop hurting because the band will be putting pressure on it. I know mine hurt a whole year then once I got two fills it stopped.
-
Probably too tight
-
Maddy for some it is a sign to stop eating. Its putting pressure on that nerve. That is your signal to stop eating. Some have it continuos. It can be annoying but none the less it is the band pressing on the nerve.

How Much Can You Eat?
cheryl2586 replied to shortishelli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just because you can eat two tacos why are you? Its not going to stop you from eating two tacos I dont care if your filled to the brim. It's up to you to push away after just one. Like someone else said its not going to control how much it just controls your hunger. I could probably eat ten tacos if I wanted them but I dont eat them or fast food. -
Some people always have that shoulder pain. Its the band pressing on your nerve. I had it until I got my first fill a year later.
-
You're not to tight. Now is the time to learn to eat with your band. It is doing what it is supposed to do. You have to learn now to work with it and not fight against it
