  1. Well my suggestion would be for now stop the greek yogurt because of the sugar and the lean cuisine because of the carbs and concentrate on protein. The only carbs should be vegetables. If you up your protein which I dont think you're getting enough of you may see a difference. I would try to go without the starchy carbs and processed foods. They really are not good for you in the beginning. Try eggs for breakfast instead of the greek yogurt. You can make an awesome veggie omelet with fat free cheese. Try other things for lunch like tuna or chicken salad. Dinner some kind of meat and veggies. Right now your concentration should be on getting in more protein which I think is the problem
  2. Yes what are you eating and how much? That is the key to success. We cant help you if we dont know what it is you are eating. Patience is needed with this also. It doesnt always happen overnight.

    New- comsidering the band

    I am three years out in two days. Was the best decision I have made and have been very successful. Just follow the rules and no cheating until you can handle it. I still do not eat fast food or junk. To much good food out there to bother with that crap anymore. I love my new life and the new me.

    The # 1 Lesson I Learned from my Band

    Yes food is no longer a wanted habit for me either. Could care less about food now. I used to eat two dunkin doughnut cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I think they are both six hundred calories a piece so I got my whole days calories in one meal. Makes me sad that I loved food like that.

    Morning Protein Shakes?

    I eat the quaker oats weight control oatmeal. It does keep me fuller longer. Takes only 45 seconds in the microwave. Carbs in the morning are not bad because you have time to burn them off. I think it has 7 grams of protein in it so you will be getting some protein early in the morning. Just make it thinner you should have no problems. I also eat greek yogurt too. 14 grams of protein and no fat in that.

    What Vitamins Does Everyone Use?

    I dont take any because I am not vitamin deficient. I have my blood work done every three months and my doctor told me if you're not deficient you dont need them. All you're buying is expensive pee. Get your levels checked not everyone needs them.

    Morning Protein Shakes?

    Liquids are not going to keep you full. They pass right through. Try some greek yogurt after drinking something hot to relax the band. No liquid source is going to keep you full for longer then that. There is no substance for your stomach to digest.

    Bread, rice and pasta

    Can't eat any of them but come on its not a death sentence. Your body does not need these things. We all got obese because we ate too much of any of those things. I do not miss bread, rice or pasta. I find so much more good tasting foods then any of them.
  11. The fever is not normal but the diarrhea is. It should have stated that in your post op instructions. I had mine out yesterday and that was one of the things he discussed at my appointment and before discharging me. Anything with fat in it from now on is going to cause it too. Dairy will also. I cant believe these doctors send you home with no clear instructions. I have a five page paper to tell me what to expect. I would call him about the fever though. You may have diarrhea for a long time because the bile is dumping straight in to the intestines and no longer being filtered through the gallbladder. All my family had diarrhea for 18 months or longer. Keep drinking and call your doctor

    Lapband didn't work for me

    You may be on a calorie restricted diet but maybe you're not eating the right things. I cant see only losing 20lbs since June if you're doing everything right. Calorie deficit means your body has no choice but to lose weight. You're not telling us what you are eating so we can't help if we don't know what you're eating.

    That really is a large number and I do not think that much weight in 3 months is healthy to lose.

    If we all could lose 100lbs and keep it off without the band we all would have by now I am sure. Yes you can lose 100lbs but you can not keep it off.
  16. 169 lbs this morning. Under my goal of 175. Miss my banded B's so much will be back next week after I feel better.

  17. Only if you are vitamin deficient. If you aren't the body will not use it. That is why blood work for weight loss pts are important. I only ttake b12 injections the rest of my levels are fine. No one should ever take iron unless you are anemic or have iron deficiency it caan vause cardiac problems. Only take what you need
  18. People get miconceived about restriction. Its not about the amount you can eat its about curbing your hunger for four hours on small amounts of food because even the tightest of bands can eat around it. You're. Looking. For being satisfied

    Not Losing - What's Up?

    Yes let's talk about how much you should be eating. The pouch is only supposed to be able to hold 4 ounces of food. That is a half cup. I have not starved in three years on a half cup of food. A cup of food is a misconception. Next time you go to your doctor dont ask him how much you are supposed to be eating ask him how many ounces your pouch should hold. His answer may surprise you. He is not going to tell you 8 ounces which is a cup. The whole idea is to have enough calorie deficit to lose weight. Starvation mode is also a misconception. Your body has no choice but to eventually lose weight on less food. Just because you can eat more why do you. Follow instructions and you will lose. I can not possibly eat a cup of food. When you eat more then four ounces the food is backing up in to your esophagus whether you can feel it or not thus causing the esophagus to dialate.
  20. Get in touch with your surgeon and let him help you get back on track. This is not an easy journey and anyone that says it is, never had a problem with food. Everyday its hard even at three years. You have to want it badly. You have to understand that your relationship with food has to change now and that falling off so early in the game will not help you. Call the people you need to call for your support and understanding of what you need to do to get yourself back on track then don't sway from that until you have reached goal. Even in maintenance you still have to watch what you eat or you will regain. Its a commitment you have to make for yourself. We can only give you support but its basically up to you.
  21. Honey so happy for you. Love yourself first. Love does not hurt. When it hurts it is no longer love. Dont look for love, let love find you. Then you will have true love. My husbands aunt was a widow for 30 years. She just now remarried because she let love find her and she is happy.

    What About Our Fat Friends And Relatives

    Well from the beginning I have told everyone. Some have made the choice to have it and some wanted no part of it. I never waited for someone to say anything to me because they already knew. I wanted to be the example and I knew I couldnt fail. Three years and counting. I never hid it. Still tell people that I have had it. I want people to know that it can change your life as long as you stick with the program.

    I Think I Am Too Tight

    Call your doctor tomorrow but sometimes you do have severe swelling and it takes a while. You might need an unfill but sometimes these things just take some time and you have to get used to eating with a tighter stoma. But call them for sure first thing.
