sick and stressed and not eating right

Life will always get in our way but now is the true test to not let food be you stress relief. I understand how much you have on your plate but we have to learn to not let life cause us to love food again.
  3. well it will eventually stop they are wonderful drugs but the side affects are horrible

    Frustrated with weight loss

22lbs in two months is a great loss. Its more then two pounds a week. People dont understand that the band is a slow weight loss and like CG a loss is a loss no matter whether it is an ounce or a pound. Slow and steady wins the race.
  5. unfortunately this is one of the side affects of steriods. It should resolve once you are off of them. If you are going to be on them longterm I would ask your doctor to switch you to something else. It makes you retain fluid very badly that is why the weight gain.
  6. I wouldnt consider potted meat a mushy but every doctor has their thing. Mushies to me are creamed soups, refried beans, and of that sort, sugar free pudding. I also would lay low on the mayo. Its not a good thing to start just yet. Just my opinion though.
  7. 3 more inches off my waist, hips and bust I will take it

Starchy carbs and why we don't need them

Yes they do make us crave sugar terribly that is why I stay clear of them.

    2 week old BAND BABY!

She is absolutely beautiful and perfect. Congrats mommy and you look awesome too.
  10. off to the drs for a good weigh in

  11. I wouldnt stock up on too much either because just what you like now you may hate after surgery. I would say for after surgery a small amount of chicken broth because that gets old after a while, sf popsicles but not the fudge ones because even though they are sugar free they have a lot of calories even at 60 if you eat 10 a day thats 600 calories. Get the sugar free tropical pops at about 15 calories a pop. Protein shakes I dont know my taste changed after surgery and I hated the ones I bought. I like the eas already made carb control. Just buy enough for a week or a few days because Im telling you if you go crazy and buy stuff you may have a lot left that you cant get rid of. Sugar free jello now that you can keep for a while.

    ? For the Ladies

While I dont have a period any longer, my weight fluctuates as much as 8lbs in a day. Its water weight and really unless we take water pills which is not a good thing to start unless you have blood pressure problems, then the only way to get rid of the water is to drink water. It may sound crazy but weight fluctuation happens to everyone. Even when you are not dieting, have wls. It is just part of life and not just a hormone issue. I would say dont weigh yourself during that part of your pack of pills. Wait until the second week of the new pack to weigh. It will only frustrate you and keep you miserable all the same. Just some of my suggestions.

    gas meds

One thing that works is a little potion of apple juice hawaiin punch and tea bags. Place half a cup of apple juice and half a cup of hawaiin punch in the microwave together. Heat for about a minute or so depending on how hot you like it then place a tea bag in it and let it steep. Sip away and it should work better then any gas ex could. Cheaper then gas x strips for sure.

Yes you are looking awesome. You are going to have a skinny waste.
  15. Bloating can come at any time. Retaining fluids, period, eating too much salt. We all get bloated even me after three years. Just drink lots of water and it should help resolve its self.

    Pre Surgery Labs in- diagnosed..

You doctor should have free samples in his/her office. You should ask them. I would definitely stay off the sugar and carbs until you can do something but I would talk to your doctor about getting your medications. Most drug companies will give the drugs for free if you can't afford them. Its just paper work your doctor has to fill out and send to them. I wouldn't play around with diabetes alot can happen in 8 days.

    SO MANY QUESTIONS

I only remember being down the first day then after that I was out walking around.

    I think my band slipped

If your band slipped you would know because you would be constantly be throwing up. You need to call your doctor right now. You cant afford not too.

    Hiccups?

Its usually a sign that you are full
  22. Here is a trick to eating salad everyday for lunch. Make a few jars on Sunday night and just grab one to bring to work every day. When you're ready to eat, just shake it up. The key is to make sure the dressing and the Leafy greens don't touch.
  23. Just think of this accomplishment. It is an accomplishment when you can dodge that all mighty junk food bullet. You did the right thing and you will be fine.
  24. You can not possibly eat that much food after surgery unless you really want to hurt yourself. Do you realize you are on liquids for a reason? Do you realize that every time you eat your stomach is moving and you were put on liquids so that your band area can heal. If you continue to eat that way then what is the point of having surgery. You have to have some constraint and eating cheese balls is not on your diet plan and mine neither after three years. You are already sabotaging yourself. Follow your post op instructions. 2 full cans of soup???? Really????
  25. Didnt your doctor suggest to remove the fluid out of your band while pregnant? In my experience as a child birth educator, all of my band patients had their fluid removed while pregnant so that their babies could get enough nutrition.
