Drink as much as you want. You will be hungry its normal. Now is the time to get strong, find other things to do with your time then think about food. It will be over in no time and you will be on to normal life.

We all have been right where you are. Food is comfort for most of us. If you use this tool and follow your doctors instructions you will be able to go over the wall instead of running in to it. We all love food, have had that I will start my diet on Monday and end up cheating by Wednesday. You will do it even though there are still hurdles and I won't claim its easy because its not, but you can do this and find a healthy relationship with food. As far as support from friends and family I can only say this: We have always sucked at losing weight, had one failed promise after another and they know it. They just figure here we are again but this time it will be different. You will succeed and you will lose the weight. Congrats and great success with your surgery.

Well I can say this. I have learned to welcome hunger because I went almost 35 years and never knew what hungry was because I ate so much I never felt hungry. The first time my stomach growled I almost had a heart attack lmao

Starting over, 5 years after surgery

Its a program but it was expensive. It ran me about 122 a week but they give you protein puddings, bars, shakes, soups and you can eat up to 8 ounces of meat twice a day with four cups of veggies. Day 4 was hell from detoxing off the sugars and the carbs but it worked. You cant buy the products online but they do have centers everywhere. I was frustrated and couldnt get anymore fills because I just cant handle them. I would have a protein pudding in the morning, a boiled egg at lunch then since hamburger was about the only meat that I could eat at the time I would make a chop steak and eat half of it at both meals because there was no way I was eating 16 ounces of meat no way. But its still the same concept of high protein low carb. I too can not eat ice cream because I will eat a half gallon in one day lol. I find that once I got off of sugar I never want it anymore. Even if I look at a piece of candy and think Im gonna I run from it. I know me. I try not to eat any starchy carbs either because they turn to sugar to then the cycle begins. I am here if you need me. I just started eating greek yogurt about 4 months ago because I love it but then again the sugar thing. Sugar addiction is hard but if you can just let it go and not eat any of it you can beat it. My husband thinks he is making me happy when he buys all that crap but when he would go away for work I would throw it out and he thought I ate it. But I cant. If you detox off sugar just know day 3 and 4 will be hell and I mean the bitchy, headache, hellish day ever in the history of life lmao. True for real. I think I could have easily murdered a whole city of people and never remembered doing it lmao. -

You will do fine if you listen to your surgeon, follow his plan and not sway from his plan. Good luck. -
4 days Post-Op....hungry

Listen to your doctor but get your butt out of bed. That I can tell you. A bed is not your friend after surgery. -
Treating yourself with herbs or other tv related things is not helping your dilation. Esophageal dilation can become a serious thing if you don't stop trying to fix it on your own. You need to have your doctor tell you what to do. If your esophagus stays dilated and can't push your food down then you risk the chance of aspirating on your food and other things. Please talk to your surgeon.

If I buy ham cubes they do better with me because they are processed with water. I dont think I would try a hamsteak. I dont do pork either. Both stuck buggers for me. But next time dont drink the water lol that is the worst thing ever. I know you want it to go down but all it does is make the water come back up.

It has never controlled my hunger just the amount it takes me to get satisfied. Some people never lose the hunger others do it all depends on you as an individual.

Gallbladder surgery After lapband
cheryl2586 replied to TylerAshton567's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine out in December but I had no pain except when I woke up. My surgeon let me resume normal meals the same day. I have had no issues since but that is just me. I had no gas only burning where my big incision was. I was up and moving the next day and doing housework within four days. To me it was the easiest recovery of any surgery I had. -
If your bite size is the size of your pinky nail, and you take a minute to chew....
cheryl2586 replied to hopeful_janna's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I personally am not a pea biter. I take a bite, chew it, swallow it. If it seems that it went down I take another bite. If it feels kind of tight I wait. It does take me 30 minutes to eat and I consume about a cup or less of food per sitting. Three meals a day and two snacks that is all I eat and about 80 ounces of water. -

I just want to say that all of us have an issue with food. We all love it but you have the tool you need to begin to have a new relationship with food. I lost very well for the first six months 70lbs then I quit smoking and no weight loss for a year. I have only 3 cc's in my band but the thing that has gotten me down the other 52lbs is protein. I am a total sugar addict. If I eat one single crumb of sugar then I binge. You have to find out what it is that you binge most on and totally delete it from your diet. I know people say everything in moderation but some of us cant. I was not able to eat meat and ended up a vegan. I realized then that after months of being a vegan my whole relationship with food changed because I felt better. Even at only 3ccs that is my green zone. I love healthy food. Today I would take a vegetable or a piece of fruit over any pizza. I have learned to seaons my veggies good, I eat vegan burgers, black bean burgers, vegan meatballs and they are not bad plus I have learned to make my own vegan dishes. That doesnt mean this is what you have to do I am just telling you what I have done. My doctor put me on ideal protein for about 3 months. It was worth the money because it got rid of the sugar cravings in me. I dropped 52 pounds in 3 months. The problem with me is the band has never taken my hunger away but I eat less. I still get hungry but I eat every couple of hours. I will eat once in a while lunch meat because its about all my band will tolerate meat wise. I will take some lunch meat, grape tomatoes and banana peppers and put them all together and eat them and it is good. You really have to find out the foods that trigger your bad eating and totally get away from them. I wish you all the best of luck in your second time around and hope you do well. -

Emotional about dr's appt next week and food cravings
cheryl2586 replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A loss is a loss no matter how much it is. Even every ounce is a loss. You have to count your losses as better then gaining. Start being positive and the outcome will be positive. -
I would dearly love a delete button on a post that I make.

Everything you are feeling is normal. You just have to know over time your relationship with food will change. Hopefully you won't feel this way for long but depression after any major surgery is completely normal. Hope you feel better soon. -

I think you can go under settings and change your calorie intake yourself. I havent used that sight personally in a while because I like spark people better but I think with any of them you can change all your intakes to what you want them to be. -
You think that being on liquids for four weeks to lose 25lbs was right? Girl call your doctor and get an unfill that is so unhealthy.
-
I dont eat them. 1. because we dont need them and it got me almost 300 pounds 2. because if you eat that crap you crave that crap and that is exactly what those kind of carbs are is crap. I would much rather fill myself with vegetables and fruit. Because I say I don't eat them doesnt mean that you cant eat them I just choose not too. Its not about allowing myself to eat it. It's wanting to keep myself at the weight I am at now. Starchy carbs make you crave starchy carbs if you love carbs.

NEED SUPPORT: Trying To Decide If I Should Have a Revision
cheryl2586 replied to NeenBand's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
First of all anesthesia has come a long way since 2000 and 2006. Its not like it used to be. Secondly if this band is really messed up then get it fixed. Why not? What do you have to really lose? A day of being in a fog is not necessarily such a horrible thing it wont last forever however I doubt you will go through that again. If your true desire is to finally lose weight then I think taking a second chance would be worth the risks. Think about what will happen to you if you don't take the risk. -
