Help Please started Exercise and in alot of pain..but not giving up!
cheryl2586 replied to rayanne's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Are you really stretching your muscles well after you work out because you have to release the lactic acid built up during exercise. Try stretching good after your work out and you will see the difference. -
Well to me and this is just my opinion if a guy is planning on being with you for the long haul, would want you to meet his family. It should not matter if his brother is in town and he might be the center of attention or not. If you have been dating him that long and he does not want to include you in family affairs then I see a problem here. There is no reason for him not to include you and I would think he would want you around less when he is out with his friends then with his family. This is just my opinion. If I can't be part of the family then I would think he isn't making you part of his future either.

You can get back on track you have to want to. You are not a failure you just gave in to food temptations. You need to soul search yourself and find out exactly why you did not succeed, what put you in that position and then start over. Start from the beginning wiht liquids. Do the whole before and after all over again. You can get to your goal but you have to want it. No one but you can do this. Its all in your mind to do it.

Everyone always wants to know why you have to eat protein. PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN is all we ever hear. Well I'm gonna try to make this as short and sweet as I can. When we are obese it doesnt matter if we eat protein because we have enough fat to burn for about 20 years worth. When you have weight loss surgery and you lose your fat stores, you will then start to lose lean muscle mass. Once you lose the muscle mass YOU CAN NOT GET IT BACK! 70 TO 90 GRAMS OF PROTEIN EVERY SINGLE DAY. (Sorry forgot to unlock caps and was not yelling). Before you put anything else in your mouth, you should be eating something filled with protein. If you can't eat meat then you have to find other things such as cottage cheese, tofu, beans, etc. If you lose your lean muscle you will be in trouble. Its not about just eating protein to burn fat, its about keeping your body healthy. If you chose to eat like crap then you can't blame anyone else when your muscle's don't work correctly. Also if you do not get enough protein you can become very vitamin B-12 deficient. Once damage has occurred from B-12 deficiency it is not reversable. I have seen patients become paralyzed from not having enough B-12 if that happens you will not get it back. Eat your protein. If you have to drink it then drink it but you must get in your protein. Losing muscle mass from weight reduction can lead to harmful effects on your body, as well as problems with your weight-loss results. You want to lose weight fast but please do it safely. Nothing worse then losing a lot of weight, lose your muscle mass and end up in a wheel chair. That is not what weight loss surgery is about by any means. You are given directions for a reason.

Why you have to eat protein first

Yes we did just waiting for a closing date -
Well that person will be reporting that their band is coming out because it eroded in their stomach. Just wait and see.
-
I have a 10 cc band and only have 3 cc's and I am plenty tight enough at that amount everyone is different as to the amount they can tolerate. If I went any tighter I would not be able to eat at all.
-
You may not know how to eat with your band but throwing up every single day is sure to cause slippage. It may be too tight also but I think you are not eating correctly. It is only my opinion. Try to eat smaller bites and chew it well. Some people cant eat meat so they have to find other things to substitute protein with. Either way you need to talk to your doctor because throwing up everyday is only going to cause you issues later on.

What to do for a sugar craving
cheryl2586 replied to Deed2u's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It depends if you are a sugar addict. Sugar addiction is very real and if you are then you can't have just one post band. I avoid all sugars or anything sweet even if its sugar free because that just starts a downward spiral. I also do not eat starchy carbs they are also a trigger. I dont feel that I am being deprived I feel like I have control over my addiction which is sugar. -
I weigh myself everyday twice a day moring and night but if you are going to weigh every day you have to realize that getting aggravated with the scale is not something you should do. You have to remember the scale can go up as much as 8 to 10 pounds depending on many things. Water weight, not going to the bathroom, not sleeping, stress. These all can be an evil to the scale. So my suggestion is if you are going to weigh yourself daily then just take the numbers for what its worth and nothing more. Its only a number and you could be losing inches. Either way if it aggravates you then I would say dont do it.

PCP, no referral, no surgery???

You pcp has to write a letter of medical necessity if they dont then the surgeon can not do anything about it unless you are self pay then you dont need all those hoops. -
Smoking prior to surgery
cheryl2586 replied to Omfgmelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You dont want to wake up with breathing problems that is why they ask you to stop a month before. You want to go in to surgery as healthy as possible. But I want to throw something out there also. I was a smoker before I had surgery, I quit the month before and after surgery I went back to smoking. When I lost my first 70lbs I decided to quit for good and my weight loss completely stopped for a year I gained 20lbs back. I would suggest and this is only a suggestion if you quit smoking for the month then dont go back after surgery. Once you quit smoking people always gain weight. I had hell getting my weight loss to kick in again after I quit but eventually it did work. -

7738 and going. -
I love bananas but if you are going to work out I would think a protein shake would be more beneficial then a half of banana.

I would never let that stop me from going on vacation. Me and my husband travel often. I just dont eat things that I know will be a problem. I dont think I have ever had a stuck episode while on vacation its when I am home I have the most. Hope you enjoyed it anyway.

Flu season was over the 1st of april. I work for a large hospital system and flue season runs from october 1st to march 30th. If you are still giving new recruits flu vaccines then you are wasting money lol -
