    "know It Alls"

Are you as condescending to your clients as you are here. I can't imagine you would have many. But what do I know you are the know it all aren't you. LOL this site is just a crime to say the least.

    "know It Alls"

Na Na your post was not about eating and drinking after you asked if we were letting food sit in our esophagus for long periods because the band was placed around the bottom of the esophagus which is a crock of bull. The band is placed on the fundus the area 2 to 3 inches below the esophagus and if you have food sitting in your esophagus you have a problem with your sphincter not closing and or you are over eating. Any surgeon that would put a band around the bottom of your esophagus is an idiot. No need to answer either because I really don't give a rats ass on your opinion one way or another. Stop giving out wrong information.

    Slow Weight Loss With Lb

If you are not exercising you are eating way too many calories. You should be somewhere between 1,000 and 1,200 not up in the 1,500's that is not helping you lose weight. Try to lose the carbs also. Too many carbs turn into sugar which turns into fat. Keep your Protein up in the 80 to 90 range. If you want to eat the carbs then you have to burn them with exercise.

Can Eat Bread But Not Chicken?

chicken is stringy and dry even the dark meat is stringy. Try making chicken salad or something like that and maybe you will be able to eat it.

Gotta Get This Off My Chest

I don't think anyone is peeved at your post. Again you are taking text and making it how you see it or view it. I don't take people's words to heart on here. You have to go with the good or the bad and whatever people write is not always how it sounds. This is not a place where you know every single person so you can't say what they are thinking or feeling when they answer you. You can take a sentence such as: Well why did you do that and four different people will take that same sentence and interpret it differently. What seems smart mouth to some may not be smart mouth to others. No you didn't name names but you're ranting about how people act here is just as bad as you thinking they are being mean. You are doing exactly to others what you don't want done to you. It's the same thing only done differently. I always say there is a block button on here and if you don't like how someone talks then block them. End of story.

Gotta Get This Off My Chest

I don't understand why people let words bother them. That is all they are. Words. You don't know how they are meant but take them the way that you want when the poster may not have even meant them to be mean or nasty. If you don't know the person and their personality you may be misconveying the very thing they were talking about. I would just say ignore them if that is how you feel. I never could understand someone needing to rant about anyone on a forum because isn't that the same thing you are doing is being mean about other people?
  12. The band is not placed up by the esophagus it is placed at the fundus which is the top part of the stomach at least 2 to 3 inches below the esophageal sphincter. The reason that the esophagus gets dilated comes from over eating and the sphincter being weak as with acid reflux allowing food to back up into the esophagus. What idiot surgeon would place the band around the bottom of the esophagus. This is where the band is placed normally not at the bottom of the esophagus.

    What to eat

Your surgeon should have given you a list of foods you could eat and if not then you need to call them. My question is though why does your kids have to eat mushies just because you are on them?
  14. cheryl2586

    Stuck question

If you are truly stuck you will never forget it because the pain alone is awful. Plus the excessive mucous that everyone calls sliming. Believe me you will know.

    Kidney stones/Gallbladder stones

Kidney stones or gall stones would not make your port swell to the size of a grape fruit. Your port is not close to either area. Its in the front sewn to muscle. I would say you have a port issue along with something else.

    Spare Tire??

The stomach is the last to go fat wise. You lose fat from the top down. Face, bust etc. Eating high protein also helps get rid of the fat stores. Exercise will help with the weight loss and build muscle but it really doesn't get rid of the fat stores. It's all about diet to get rid of your stomach. Then you will have to contend with the saggy skin.

    Bat Wings

Most lose skin will not go away with toning unless your elasticity is good. Its not the muscle that is sagging its the skin and there is not much to help that but plastic surgery.
  18. That may be a tough one to appeal because if you got your band and stopped following up with your doctor they may not want to pay for you to get another band. You should call your insurance company.
  19. I was also told no carbonation but my question is this: is drinking alcohol worth risking something happening to your band just two weeks post op? Your doctor gives you instructions for a reason and this is why people end up getting their bands removed because they don't follow instructions. I am sure if you ask your surgeon he is not going to say yes go right ahead.

    Please, Respect Your Bands

It took her 32 minutes to say she screwed up her band by vomiting every single day. Yes this is what happens when you think vomiting is normal because it is not.
  21. Everyone wants a drastic weight loss but truth be told 1 to 2lbs a week is all the band guarantees. If you lose more great but don't have high expectations of weight loss because that will set you up to fail. No matter what or how much you lose it is better then gaining. Stay off the scale for a while and when your clothes get loose then step on the scale and you will see a big loss.
