I cannot believe how much US docs charge for plastics! What she has quoted you on is nothing more than what my surgeon in Mexico calls the Mommy Makeover...which he charges not quite $8,000 for which includes EVERYTHING except airfare. But, I understand not everyone wants to go to Mexico which I a shame as my surgeon is excellent. Just think, 22,000 minus 8,000 is 14,000. That's a LOT of money to have left over for new clothes.

How many procedures in one op?
MsVetRN replied to Indigo1991's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You can only bee under anesthesia for so long. PS puts a BIG stress on your body. But, the breasts, whether it is a reduction with lift or aug with lift and a tummy tuck can be done at the same time...normally. Dr Niebles will only do 2 procedures at one time. The MMO (which is the breasts and tummy) is at LEAST 8 to 12 hours. -
Have you had breast augmentation?
MsVetRN replied to CBT's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had the saline inserted just under the breast in the crease and the gels through the nipple (as I had a mini lift, too. I preferred my saline with their placement much more than these gel through the nipple! My saline looked and felt much more natural to thee touch!!! Both my daughters each got implants last year. One got saline and one got gel. Both UNDER the muscle as that is how 90% are placed. Each have had no issues and like the choice they made. But, as far as healing..no difference. How did the healing compare? -
Have you had breast augmentation?
MsVetRN replied to CBT's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I have had both sets of implants (first saline, now gel) under the muscle and I have never "felt" my implants. SO...I don't know what your doc is talking about!! -
Once you reach your goal weight, you can have any plastics. Until then, it would be a waste.

Upper Arm Lift, brachioplasty
MsVetRN replied to jnlebean's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Here is one of my arm lift scars. Because of placement, nobody can really see them unless I left my arm and show them. -

Hi, Everyone and HAPPY SUNDAY!!! I just started a MeetUp Group (some of you may know of the MeeetUp Groups nationswide). Anyway, there are no MeetUp goups in my area that deal with WLS. There are FORMAL hospital based groups but they are kind of B O R I N G, so I decided to start a MeetUp here in Richmond, VA BUT you don't have to be from Richmond...ALL are welcome!!! These will be fun, informal get togethers for Pre and Post Op WLS patients of all types of bariatric surgery. Hope a few of you can make a get together!! I am surprised as I was encourage to walk standing straight up at all times. It may differ if you had the circular belt?
