Haven't reached my final goal yet. Still not sure what it should be. But...have reached my goal of being 200 by Christmas. 199.8 lbs this morning. Merry Christmas to me! Yeah!!! Have enjoyed reading all the posts so much. When I am struggleing with wanting to eat, instead of going to the fridge I go here. It really helps keep me modivated. Thank you everyone for sharing.

I just had my 3rd fill 5 days ago. Dr was very encouraging and met the new diatician for the office I go to. I won't hold it against her that she probabley only weights 100 lbs. She was very sweet and had some good advice. So glad I had the band.

So glad I started my day here today. Banded Sept 23 have lost 45 lbs. Would not have lost without the help of the band. Had decided NEVER to diet again because everytime I do I gain it back plus more. Was afraid if I dieted again I would be 300 + next go round. So no more diets. Just changing my bad habits. For the rest of my life.

Hi, I'm about 8 weeks post op. Have had 2 fills and doing ok. However I am going out of the country for a month in Jan. My next fill is due 2 weeks before I leave. Would I be better off waiting until I get back for that next fill? I'm concerned about eatting while I'm gone. I know I won't be able to have protein shakes in the mornings (or at all) I am worried about eatting period. Has anyone had issues with traveling and food? I haven't had any episoids of being struck or PB'ing and I don't want to start that when so far from home. Looking forward to the trip but worried about the diet.

Went for my 2nd fill. Dr told me I was doing awesome and gave me a high 5. 10 lbs in week since 1st fill. Love the encouragement. No restrictions yet, I know that will happen around 4 or fill 5 fills. Right? Incision finally healed and am able to start exercising. (so I did last night, now very sore. Gotta remember to take it a little slower) Does anyone have a WII and use the Dance Revolution? Looks like fun. I know that will come. Also cleaned out my closet today. Tried on everything. 40 lb wt loss will sure kill your wardrobe. My closet is really bare. Not complaining. Life is good!

Hang in there. I had to FORCE myself to take in any fluids at all for days after my surgry. You can go a long time without food but you really need to stay hydrated. Small sips, as often as you can. As long as your not throwing it up you should be ok. It will get better. I was having second thoughts right after surgery. Too late, at that point, but was sorry I did it. However, 6 weeks out and learning how to eat again, 38 lbs down from Sept 9 till now. I know it was the right decision.

The size before XL. Had never heard of it but it was the smallest size in the big girls store so, I'm happy. This is a fun posting,,have enjoyed everyones posts.

Had a gift certificate for a big girl store. Only thing that fit was a xo. What? Never even knew there was a size xo. Last thing I got there was a xxl. Yea.

Hi, for me, the decision was based more on what was coming toward me rather then what I have now. I'm border line diabetic, heart rate is starting to climb, decreased mobility. Being a nurse I see how difficult it is for overweight people. From ambulation to hygeine to assisting with them when transfering bed to chair. I can't change the fact that I'm getting older but I can change the way I feel as I get there. I hope everything goes ok with your insurance. I know it can be a long process. I was able to go private pay so from the time I saw the first person to surgry was 3 weeks. But I had read and thought about it for a year. Am having problems with incision healing but other then that everything is going good.

Surgery on 9/23 in Fort Worth. Anyone in the area looking for someone to share this journey with? I'm 50, married, LVN and no one at work knows I'm doing this. So can't really share with them.

Hi Roni, where are you going to have your surgery done? My was done in Hurst with Dr Adam Smith. I did alot of reading before chosing him. I'm down 35 pounds. Still have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I think maybe I could have done this without the surgery but then again, I hadn't done it so maybe I couldn't have. The thing that is helping the most is....no sodas, ( I was drinking alot of them) and eatting at the table only, no tv, no books while eatting and fixing my plate and not getting refils. I keep trying to get to the support group in FW but never seem to make it.

I was banded Sept 23 by Dr Smith. Have you gone to any of support groups? Are they worth the time?

Deep breath, I hit my 1st mini goal of 25 lbs. Am still 1 week away from 1st fill. I'm so excited but scared too. How do I keep the excitment going? So afraid that as the weight loss slows I will become discouraged. its really been too easy so far. Other than the gas pains I had from the surgery. Has anyone had the weight just melt away easiely till they hit the finally goal or is this going to really start to become more difficult as time goes on?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with the wild dreams. In one dream I was in a hugh store with candy, candy, candy everywhere, I was totally lost in the store and kept thinking I found the way out only to be faced with another deadend into another room of the sweetest, creamiest, candy I ever saw, in my dream I was frustrated because I didn;t have any money with me so I couldn't have any of the candy. In another I was baking a turkey, I kept checking it and checking it, finally it was done and was a beautiful golden brown but when I cut into it it was dried up to the bone inside. Guess I was worried about dry meat.

If your drinking the Protein shakes or increased protein in your diet it will cause drymouth and thrist. Something to do with your body processing the protein.

Yea!! Glad your doing good. I'm still strugging to take in liquids that I'm suppost to. Feel much better tonight. I'm down 19 lbs but figure to gain some back when I start taking in the fluids I should. Not hungry, don't know if surgeon did a little fill or if its from swelling from the surgery.
